Hell yeah. The electricity was in the air, almost static. Sound bytes from Sheeva from UMK3 on the left, then some insane Ryu/Cyclops sound bites from Xmen vs Street Fighter on the right, bother periodically pierced by ULTRAAAA COMBOOOO, with some faint and drowned out -RELOAD- -RELOAD- bytes from House of the Dead and Time Crisis circulating. It was invigorating. It was healing. Our bodies fed off the electrons. It’s sad this doesn’t exist anymore- but it makes me very, very happy I lived in a time where I got to experience it in full throttle.
I remember those days so fondly! I miss it everyday. My buddies and I were in the arcade almost daily when MK 1 - MK 3 came out. I feel so lucky to have been a kid and grown up in the 80’s and 90’s. Kids now don’t know what there missing.
I appreciate you making this video bro. If you come to Galloping Ghost Arcade in Illinois that is exactly how it sounds. So many arcades in there. It takes you right back to 1993 being on an MK2 machine and hearing all the background noises from other arcades.
I miss all the lovely chip tunes playing away. Outrun, Robocop and many more all added to the fantastic sounds that were just as important as the graphics
No lie, when I was in a New Orleans arcade in 1994 I've watched an older guy play MK2 with Johnny Cage on the Kintaro/Shaw Khan stages the exact same way.
If I ever become obscenely wealthy, like if I hit the Powerball or something, I am 100% opening up a giant arcade with no regard for how much money it bleeds. When I was a kid I was a total arcade junky and it was my dream to open one for so long. Sadly, we all know that market basically died with the advancement of home consoles and PC's. Nothing beats the arcade experience though IMO. Hell if I was that rich though maybe it'd be a barcade. Maybe a barcade with a bowling alley. I'm sure there would be some younger people interested, but I'm guessing my target demographic would be fellow Gen-X'rs. I'd host all kinds of tournaments and shit... God damn I miss the 80's-90's.
Imagine how awesome that would be! There’s a retro arcade where I live and while it’s fun to go to it will never be like it was back in the 90’s. What a great time to be alive and I’m just glad I got to live through it. Thanks for sharing that comment my friend! When you win and open up that arcade lemme know, I wanna visit 👊🏼
The actual arcade cabinet acted like a speaker box with mostly all those games, so you'd get a bit of a bassy tone coming from each machine, especially from those 90s Midway.
Awesome buddy...cant wait till it gets darker in the afternoon so i can do ...well something like that😂😂😂 i don't have killer instinct i guess i ll just switch on my n64!!!
