This album kept me alive after the Smiths broke up. So different, but still gets you in that sweet spot. Just love how you can plug in any crappy guitar into any crappy amp and make $hit happen

My first gig and without a doubt my finest. Newcastle Riverside 1987 supported by The Flatmates. Bin liners full of balloons, beer, sweat and a belting crowd. Happy happy times..... This track stirs the emotions.....

I met Dave,by chance before a gig. He asked if I wanted a beer and all I could do was state open mouthed like a knob until we had the beer,he's a top bloke.Brilliant writer.

First head this tune in 1987, a workmate of mine at the time made me a mixtape of great indie, and this one stood out a mile.

Going to see The Weddo's tonight playing their first ever gig in my home town of Halifax. Must of seen them over 30 times over the years but tonight is a warm up for the Tommy tour and the venue is tiny. Should by loud and sweaty!

1991, at a concert at the UEA, I'm wearing a "leeds, north with attitude" top like peter solowka, I'm from barnet. That shows dedication to the weddoes cause

I met the man at a gig in Reading in 2006 and got the opportunity to ask him 'How many times have had you your heart broken / been dumped?' He was circumspect and suggested his songs were more to do with finding love, rather than losing it.....the lyrics tend towards a different, but brilliant, alternative.

Next September, they're coming to my town, Rouen, France and they will play for free!

The lead singer in this band is f*****G awesome, he sings in a very unique way with a great melodic style, phrasing and delivery. The music is also great and a bit faster and heavier for this genre.

My Favourite Weddoes song... So good I have it twice on 7" white vinyl! still lovin it in 2020!

At Stone Valley festival, last year as not knowing any songs I decided to nip back to the tent for beers etc while The Wedding Present played, this year after listening to them on RU-vid I'm excitedly waiting to see them for the first time and kicking myself for missing them last time.....

What a flopping fantastic track and LP from The Wedding Present ...my favourite on this album!! Swam up to David Gedge in Lister Park lake Bradford '88 to see this man and band. Many happy memories.XXXX

Is it just me, or were the David's lyrics more subtle and poetic back in the George Best days. Like, the ‘staring at breasts’, ‘wearing no underwear’ and ‘only wanting sex’ came much later, which is odd when you think about it, right, cause no-one wants to imagine their grandparents having intercourse, no? That's gross!

In the grand scheme of things, I think "My Favourite Dress" is a far superior song to "Hand in Glove" which looking back on it, was really nothing more than Morrissey's whining narcissism. This song is far more genuine - it's human, it's tragic, ... and it's all too real. They were terribly under valued.

The album should have been called Billy Bremner.
