Great video of Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad freight train, Dan! This was a nice looking train. The scenery in the Mt. Shasta area was beautiful especially the vistas with Mt. Shasta. Thank you for documenting this train on its way to and from Weed, California to Hornbrook. California and for sharing this video with us!
Thank you Thomas! It's a wonderful region and an absolute treat that a train still runs here at all. The fate of it is uncertain so I'm glad I could film it one last time if its time is up soon. Hopefully that's not the case though.
Another fantastic video, Dan! I love that part of the country. And shoot, until I watched this I was under the impression the line north to Medford was still closed due to fire damage in a tunnel near the summit.
Thank you for sharing. I wish I could have seen Hornbrook in this video. I used to be part owner of R ranch right there in Hornbrook. The old SP Yard was right there. Next time maybe. Or if you have it please post it. Thanks again for sharing.
I know this video is a couple of months ago but today is Christmas and I would just like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and also a thanks for your great videos.
I'm starting to look at more of the videos I havn't seen yet (been watching my favs too much :) ) I love how you framed the Loco going into the mountain...would make a great picture puzzle...does anyone do puzzles anymore? Hmmmm!
The Mt Shasta region is incredible and makes for such a breathtaking backdrop! I tried to see if my wife and I would enjoy puzzles some years back. It wasn't her thing. 😅
@@TheRailfanDan Was that way when it was SP. They never ran loads south (aka SP East) . It was more than the tunnel fire there was river damage also. Everything went north (aka SP West) to the Eugene yard. So it was Riddle, OR west and Grants Pass, OR East, Southern Pacific.
At 13:53 the road has really wide shoulders at the crossing. I wonder if that's so school busses and so on can stop to look for trains without blocking the travel lane.
