For what its worth, a viewer helped sus out the issue. Turns out, when my wireless mouse / keyboard would go "inactive" it would cause the game to stutter. Plugging them in to charge / making sure to keep them active so they wouldn't go to sleep while playing removed all the issues. Insane. Thanks, Kinjara!
Hey I think this might be an anticheat thing or so. I had the same issue with a bad USB cable charging my phone. If you nudge it the phone tends to disconnect. It's might be something reacting to a change in hardware.
I'm in zeke's camp. i sit down, mere seconds later everything is out in a nice log, wipe, get up. The whole thing takes maybe 2 minutes. That's what a good diet/gut bacteria health does for you. it also astounds my mates. They think i'm lying, or that i only peed.
Cohh says we won't see another Origins, but really, they started working on the Veilguard like 7 years ago, now after the successes of Larian and Owlcat, they just might come back to the CRPG format.
I was literally like "Does Cohh have JP muted?" If I was JP I would have been such a sarcastic ass in response. "Yeah gee Cohh, such an insightful comment that no one else just made."
I would go crazy as JP having to do a podcast with Cohh... The moment something isn't within his interests, he basically ignores his cohosts and does whatever, listening with a half ear. And this time he tries to gaslight JP, trying to blame him for not speaking clearly. It's so fucking disrespectful, like how at times he's playing a game while doing the podcast... Seriously, if you don't have the basic decency to give the other people the same attention as they give you, you have no business being on a podcast, and you might have an addiction problem. He seems like a nice guy, but I wouldn't be able to tolerate that in a professional setting, not even in a casual conversation.
Why are people in RU-vid comment sections always so weird? Like dude relax, its not that big of a deal lol. They are 3 friends talking about video games, its not like its some serious business.
The timeline for Dragon Age is long but Cohh got a lot of stuff wrong It STARTED as a single player game in 2015, then EA rebooted as a multiplayer GAAS game, then after Anthem failed and Jedi: Fallen Order did well did they reboot it a 3rd time to be a strictly single player offline, no microtransactions or EA account shenagian situation. Also the comment from the game director was target specifically about the mmo like nature of some of the side quests in Inquisition.
Great podcast, thanks for uploading to youtube. Yeah I have like 5 months to wait until fathers day comes around here in Europe lol. According to Wikipedia there's like 10 different days of celebrating this around the world. Wild!
I like Cohh's speech about boycotting games and i agree with it. Oh btw i can't find his Hogwarts Legacy playthrough, nvm i'm probably not searching right.
I don't understand why Cohh was expecting anything different for the new Dragon Age, he's played Inquisition, what made him think they were going back?
Because people have been asking for 10 years, don't act like fans asking for a change has never happened. Use your brain man, we both know devs can change things, they just didn't this time and probably never will now that we know.
@@Redroomjjgfd You use your brain, Inquisition is their highest selling Dragon Age game, they were never going back so to expect otherwise and then getting upset about it when they show the game is ridiculous. I'm someone who prefers Origins btw, it's just weird that people were expecting something that we knew was never happening.
And he also enjoyed Inquisition? I understand his preference but it's not like he was forced to 100% Inquisition by some evil lords. And the way he talks about it feels like he tolerates it at most.
@neurololz Bg3 proves you wrong. DA origins was the spiritual successor to Bg 1 and 2, the difference between DA origins and bg3 is the combat. Bg3 has turn based combat and DA origins had real time with pause. Bg3s success proves that type of crpg can be very successful.
A small correction on the esrb discussion. The esrb was created because Congress was holding hearings and drafting bills to regulate gaming content disclosure and many publishers didn't want that to be under a body they couldn't directly control. So they made a deal to form a self-regulatory body that became the esrb under the ESA (the group behind the former convention, E3).
I surprised that Cohh is surprised that the upcoming Dragon Age will not be like the first one. After Origins each iteration of this franchise was combat orientated instead of tactical. Also the rumors before the trailer said that the combat would be like God of war.
@@olsongc8422 DA:O was adjacent I'd say. In that it's CRPG but BG3 is the peak of it. Like, that studio has built itself for the past 15 years to be able to make games like BG3. Bioware pivoted. Their constraints, goals, and studio structures are in two totally different places. My perspective is that I've got 2 different flavors of cake that I love for different reasons.
Yeah, it's weird to me is people who expected it to be like Origins. That was 15 years and 3 games ago. Maybe if BG3 had its success years ago they would have considered it but it will 4+ years until we see any BG3 effect if it happens at all.
1:14:09 If Bethesda had created a compelling world in their own game, there might be less of a drive for JP to want one in another. People tolerate Bethesda's engine because of the worlds that were built, but if that isn't even adequate, what's the point of it?
With kai it's cool because he and his fans and a lot of his associates have a specific type of gaming background. They grew up playing call of duty, Madden, nba2k and so there is like a real opportunity to expand the community. Because those people are already gamers, they already own a console, and now they're being exposed to games they might not have given the chance to before
The Bethesda rage thing is odd they just do it for the launch, the creation club is an awesome thing in general. It allows for mods to get on console without modding a console, not only that but people make a living from it outside of Bethesda. Many get hired too. I wish more games did this especially Paradox titles.
I've never played these games for combat because no matter the focus it was clunky at best. Story is where it's at but I can't tell if VG will deliver.
rose-tint and all that. i replayed DAO last year and it was sooo bad (the combat i mean). RTwP is even worse than infinity engine games, one of the most popular mods for DAO is faster combat and combat overhauls.
@@timurdosthe combat in DAO is pretty solid actually, especially with the ability to customize the AI in great detail. Extremely impressive, especially for 2009. It’s not rose colored glasses or nostalgia either. Just like the Nemesis System from Mordor, the tactics system from DAO is an innovation that many people at the time thought would see use in other future games. The fact that modern players try to mod DAO to be more of an ARPG than a CRPG is no reflection on the quality of the original game.
Cohh saying 'Many didn't like the old RPG, it was too complex' is such an eye roll. I love complex RPGs, but boy, Origins was not one of them. Even Origins was pretty basic by cRPG standards, janky as hell and already had one foot in over-the-shoulder action gaming. I'm excited for Veilguard because it's the first time Dragon Age has picked one god damn genre and not tried to do two things at once. No tactical camera, no bouncing between party members. They said 'We're an action game now' and build a game for that. Honestly? I'd probably like the game more if they'd gone the OTHER way, but I also haven't seen any evidence in over a decade that Bioware can produce a good cRPG. But I like the Mass Effect games so if we're going to go down that road with Dragon Age? At least they're not trying to please everyone and might make a game with a clear gameplay vision for once. And hell, Andromeda was a 3-ability action RPG game the combat was the only thing I thought that game did really well.
I just wish Starfield's writing wasn't cold garbage. The gameplay loop wouldn't have affected me as much if I was seeing interesting dialogue. I'm glad they're getting experience developing different things though.
And for some weird reason, the voice acting is super stiff for 90% of the characters. Even Toufexis is bland as heck. Feels like the voice director would be to blame...It's a pain to even watch it. Tbh, I was sure they'd just not release anything for it and forget about it. The updates that drizzled in a few months after release were so ridiculously sparse for a AAA game.
GTA 6 success is dependant on many things. It'll definitely do well as a single player story game but at this point being brutally honest, GTA 6 isn't being made to be a good single player story game, the entire reason the game is being made is to act as a vehicle for GTA online 2. And the suits will want GTA online 2 to make more money than the current GTA online which I think is far from a certainty. GTA 6s success will be determined by how well GTA online 2 holds it's player base which like who knows. I mean rdr online didn't do that well,
People being shocked/mad about the Dragon Age Veilguard gameplay makes no sense to me. Pushback towards the goofy hero-shooter tone of the original reveal trailer at least has some logic behind it, but this? Dragon Age has been trend-chasing since DA2 , and this was the obvious end trajectory. The only similarity that united the previous 3 Dragon Age games was the focus on narrative, lore and characters. People also argued that Dragon Age: Origins was "simplified" when it was current, compared to the Infinity Engine games. Dragon Age combat has never been that deep or crunchy, Bioware's focus was always on the narrative and companions. The most "tactical" Origins ever got was pausing the game and aiming the spells of your tactical nuke of a "Mage" at the biggest clump of enemies. People just want to be mad about something 🤷♂
Rdr2 was hurt by the fact it didn't launch on PC content wise. Because content creators are disproportionately pc players and many of them just don't want to buy a console to play one game. GTA 6 on the other hand might force streamers to buy a console
Father’s Day is Hallmarks version of needing a psn account. If Hallmark is not available in your country, you can’t participate, even if you you previously bought your card from Walmart.
Depending on the games, if a game is coming out VERY soon. and they have a demo. they will sometimes say purchase. but a game that is coming out much later you can usually play. I've downloaded demos where the game came out a in a month. and after the demo days was done they game stopped saying play and it turned blue with a purchase symbol.
@@Redroomjjgfd i personally feel it’s accurate for DAO and DA2. Aside from the RTwP mechanic, i felt it was more in line with World of Warcraft gameplay than something youd expect from pathfinder or pillars of eternity. Neither game really feel like a CRPG to me. So I’m kinda confused on people’s consternation here. I still like them and I think Cohh made a mistake not replaying DA2 last year. Best story/squad imo. Should play it on Normal though, because Bioware difficulty equates to high-HP punching bags.
Cohh fawning over any basic QoL in Elden Ring is kinda weird tbh. FromSoft doesn't need even more praise (deserved or otherwise) for implementing basic features than they are already getting.
They've made some of the most successful and influential games in the industry. They're allowed to be praised for whatever the hell people wanna praise
@@nolanlehman6392 i am guessing you are one of the people who went "A JUMP BUTTON?! REVOLUTIONARY!!!! MIYAZAKI DID IT AGAIN, GAMING IS SAVED WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT OF JUMPING IN A VIDEO GAME"
Think it like this: old Simpsons will be loved by fans who grew up with that and new fans liking the new ones. Game is for new generation so give them a chance to like games
It's okay to defend Origin's gameplay. It's not okay to defend Nu-Dragon Age gameplay. Please stop shouting at me. I have no stake in the latest flavor of the month argument, but cmon. I bet you wouldn't see the arguments from the other side as "shouting" if you happened to enjoy the new gameplay.
