I feel we need to review this man’s mustache. It’s very tall, disappears into his nostrils, and doesn’t mix well with his nose. I find it glitchy and stylistically confusing. It adds some color and has a decent vibe, but doesn’t add much to the overall project.

When he gave it a 3/10 and said "If the weeknd didnt exist chick-fil-a would be open every single day" I felt that...

All jokes aside. I really enjoyed your breakdown of this album and appreciate the effort you put into this review. I think this album should’ve been somewhere north of 8 but I respect your opinions as always. Unsubscribed.

I went from 8.5/10 to 9/10 and it wasn't until this day I realized this album is a fucking 10/10.. This aged so well, and honestly age is the last determining factor to dictate whether it's a 10 or not, and here i am with it

I think you need to listen to the lyrics, i thought the same thing upon first listen but i decided to listen to it when reading the lyrics off Genius and this album is a 10/10 its a story...in the beginning he speaks about how hes taking off his disguise and returning to his old ways then he cheats om his girlfriend and speaks about how hes hard to love on Hard To Love and apologizes about putting her through all that pain then on Scared to love he's apologizes for damaging her coz he was the only love she knew so she scared to love anyone else because able damaged her so he tells her she shouldnt be scared to move on e.t.c and then on the next song(Snow child) he speaks about how he cheats on her in a studio because he cant control himself and how evil the girls in Cali are because he's a slave for pussy when hes off the liquor...the hook even says "cali was the mission but now a nigga leaving" which references a 2011 song during his come up saying "cali is the mission" he also speaks about how its portrayed as a great place with flashing lights which isn't true as he's discovered, Before he speaks about how he wants to leave Los Angeles coz of the temptation and all the negative stuff that happens including how he cant trust anyone because his girl told him about some guys who buy her purses and spend money on her and stuff resulting in him wanting to leave on Escape From L.A coz he cant trust anyone and he says "got everything i wanted, got the money got the cars but none of that matters without you" because she left him and he has nothing left that pleases him so he decides to just "escape" from L.A, the chorus even says "this place will be the end of me, take me out LA" so he leaves L.A, California and goes to Vegas which he said makes him feel at home earlier in the album and does drugs there thats why the song has an upbeat tempo which is probably a metaphor for him being high off the drugs and the first lyrics say "never need a bitch, im what a bitch need" but earlier in the album he said "she dont need a man shes what a man need" this is just the first half of the album, so you hopefully have an idea of where the album is going

Overall, great review Anthony. However it caught me a bit off-guard when you started describing how attractive the girl from Uncut Gems was and then proceeded to give her a rating of a 'strong 9'. Very unprofessional.

Alone again is easily one of the sonically most pleasing songs ever, how is it a bad intro? He basically comes down in a spaceship and takes you for the ride that this album is.

I think people are so used to listening to random songs on albums that nobody is realizing how conceptual this project is. Its literally a movie and every song has a reason. My only problem with this review is that you cant critique the album by just critiquing the songs, but rather the cohesiveness of the project. Thats the point of an album

The first song is mixed PERFECT. If you pay attention his voice gets progressively less audible and more layered and programmed sounding as a stylistic choice. I LOVE the mix on the whole record but especially that first song. Some people will understandably not get how this LP is a sonic masterpiece. The mix style and overall aesthetic is ahead of its time I think.

You didn’t even mention the heartbreaking story telling behind the project or how Abel took references from cinema. On top of that I don’t know how someone cannot like Alone Again or Until I bleed out unless you’re just not a fan of the synth wave sound. This needs another review 💯

I think this album was highly inspired by Scorsese’s “After Hours”. The album, just as the film, portrays a series of misadventures that take place in a New York night. Here though, Abel talks about his misfortunes with Bella. What was supposed to be the joy of togetherness quickly turned into a living nightmare, where everything bad that could possibly happen to him - happens. Perhaps, all of it, thank to his own bad decisions. That in my opinion explains the slow build up, nightmarish aspect, and different tones in this album. Just as Paul Hackett in the movie, Abel is trying to make his way home through this whole LP. He’s trying to win the love of his life back.

Honestly diddnt give this album much of a chance when it came out. This is by far his best abum hes ever made. Almost every song is good as shit.

"When I OD.....I want you to OD right beside me" The beat goes craaazy at that part on Faith. Metro boomin killin it as usual. Loved the title track After Hours as well, amazing instrumentals on this album. Snowchild is another one I'll play for a long time.
