One of my teachers back at my audio school produced his first 3 songs. Abel was actually so broke at the time that during the process of making those songs in the studio Abel would sleep on the couch in the studio and wake up when the producers came back the next day. Fun fact, the weeknd's first 3 songs were produced by another producer that wanted to take a darker path with his music and lyrics but abel didn't agree and remade the 3 songs with my audio teacher instead. I kinda feel bad for that dude lol

Everybody was just starting to listen to him in 2013 2014 and I was like I been on this guy and he is amazing. I was 18 fresh out of high school and I begged my parents to let me go to a show in Canada bcuz he wasn’t doing shows in the us and they said no but i stilled loved him.
