Montréal, he definitely shocked me with the French vocals. Shouldn't have, he's from Canada lol. That's four languages we've heard from him singing. And we got the Lonely Star reference from Thursday.
The transitions from Montreal into Outside into XO/The Host into Initiation is the best part of the mixtape. Can’t wait for the Kiss Land reaction! That project has transitions too so be sure to let tracks play all the way through for the full experience!!!
The Weeknd is in my top 10 “Hook Masters” of the decade 2010-2019. He had some of the best/most catchy hooks of that time and these mixtapes just gave a glimpse of what was to come in the future.
Mami, when Echoes came on, I see the light drain from your eyes. I felt that. When you go back and relisten to this album, notice how he kinda slowly appears from out of nowhere into frame with the beginning of D.D. and how he slowly retracts and disappears back into the darkness, into the Echoes of Silence.
Outside is a favorite of mine from this album. Like top 3. Chest popping and body rolls are definitely welcome lol. The Phil Collins drums are a vibe on their own. They drive the feeling home.
Funny you said that about him being on a horror movie soundtrack... Onwards to Kissland! We'll talk more there... Also, the music videos to After Hours...since you've heard that album, if you don't do a relisten to that, you could watch the music videos. There's a story behind them that follows the red suit character he's created. I personally would LOVE to see your reaction and thoughts behind them. He didn't start doing videos until Trilogy as a full body was announced. Kissland and every album after have followed their own story in music videos.
@@KimBTV you could do either. It'll definitely do numbers for you and your channel. Some videos before After Hours, you'd definitely have to edit heavily due to the nudity lol. Either way, I'm ready for it all. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I can tell u like abel/the weeknd more and more :D nice reaction and I am sooo happy that u are gonna keep reacting to his other albums :D KISSLAND NEXT !!!!
This mixtape is my second favorite of the Trilogy. I like that this is your favorite too. It's definitely the most haunting and the darkest. Much Love, Kim. Virtual Hugs and Kisses lol XO Oh, so he does this thing where he releases a track by itself right before an album drops, and it kinda serves as a prelude to the next body of work. If you wanna stick to chronological order of his music going forward, you should react to the song "Enemy" before or included with KissLand, as to not miss anything.
My exact sentiment about this project when you said you could see Weeknd doing the music for a horror movie. That's how I feel about the XO / The Host and Initiation sequence
@@KimBTV To me it has a sinister vibe. I think you said he was grooming her, that's an accurate term considering the subject matter. If you're reacting to Kissland next you'll be in for a treat. As another user commented, he was inspired by horror movies and in particular John Carpenter to describe the situation he found himself in after the success of Trilogy. Hope you enjoy it
I gotta go see if he ever performed The Fall on stage and at the end with the breakdown that you like, I can just see him throwing up the XO and the crowd follows suit and everything just kinda slows down and it just becomes a moment. #goosebumps I still say that I'm not afraid of The Fall when someone doubts me in something I want to do. I'm not afraid to fail my way to success. I've been low before.
Yeah I filmed it on a different day and was going to insert it in this video, but then with all the extra editing, I just didn't feel like delaying the video any longer ya know.
