Kiss Land is one of his most underrated albums and there is no bad song on there but I’d just edge toward After Hours tbh

I WAITED SO LONG FOR A VIDEO LIKE THIS. you talking about the Weeknd makes me so happy. You're so passionate about him, and choosing between After Hours or Kiss Land is sooo hard. After Hours is the culmination of his whole career, and that Vegas vibe is immaculate, especially since I've been there, stood right where he was in his music videos. but Kiss Land is still unbeatable for me. I love the Neo Tokyo neon aesthetic so much, so I have bias, but it's just so good. The highlights on Kiss Land are so unique, and the vibe throughout is actually perfect. The rain, the transitions.... Impossible choice.

I always felt like After Hours was like a Kiss Land pt. 2. I feel like its the same character but after even MORE life experience, more heartbreak and pain. Kiss Land is him learning the ins and outs of his new life as a star. After Hours is like him wanting to escape that very life after living it and being trapped in it for so long. Both albums are in the same vein for me, and I love that.

Everytime i see comparisons, i sigh. Enjoy the whole work of the artist or rather anything in life than comparing it. Comparing can lead to putting something as 'up' in value whilst simultaneously putting the other thing 'down' in value. That is stupid. We should be glad that in this case the Weeknd is an artist who went through his periods of life being in that creative zone to give us such good albums. One where he went to japan outside toronto for the first time and other was a canon event we all know of i.e., a breakup. On the other end of those periods, we got 2 masterpieces. Same for all the albums. In total we have 8 masterpieces and alot of unreleased stuff + collab feature stuff. Enjoy everything. Do not compare.

Trilogy is his magnum opus. I can't put any other work of his above it. The other albums have way too many disco, poppy 80s Madonna style sound to them which turns me off of them. They have bangers on them for sure but none have start to finish play thru with no skips like Trilogy does. For me atleast. I would put Kissland over After Hours as it's closer to the darker sound
