@@puwinsowanri3427 this is the most incredible thing about this song as the song is 'only' about an affair and nothing more. But the Ethiopian part reveals that he's actually inlove with her
Self-aware and self-destructive, harmonizing catchy melodies with words of drugs, sex, and evil. I believe he has such a battle with himself because he was raised Christian and I know what it’s like being raised Christian plus smoking weed and drinking always makes me think about am I doing the right thing. I feel like Abel always wears the cross to signify he still believes but he also wants to be successful.
There’s ppl saying he’s sold his soul to the devil, and then ppl saying he wants to stay a religious Christian man but still has his problems. I get it, but there’s signs pointing to both sides. I hope as a Christian myself that he didn’t do that Illuminati stuff. But who knows bro
I think it's a song about addiction similar to drugs in a toxic love/hate relationship most likely driven by lust. He's downplaying and justifying his infatuation/addiction similar to a junkie pretending he is in control of his addiction. When it comes down to it he's always there on her terms as she makes him feel more alive than other bitches/drugs. The guy at the end is more of a judgmental figure saying 'I knew you'd be back' as his conscience eating at him saying he's weak due to his confliction and addiction.
Im addied up addied up, I just ate a plate for breakfast, put it in a cup then I mix it up with Texas. There really needs a deeper explaination. Especially with Texas.
Dude I loved watching this. You give such an in depth look on the weeknd's music & the type of person he is. As well as a true appreciation for the kind of genius he is. Thumps up 👍🏽
i really loved this, I always thought that the part "the hills have eyes" refers to kinda like ppl watching them bc like there's beverly hills were a lot of people live and stuff but your explanation is way better and idk how to form a correct sentance bye
i have a random theory: after watching his new music video "the weeknds darkest secret" idk if it's true or not but if it is I think there are some hints in his other music videos or songs to show that he is living two lives = singing about all these things that he' done, but actually it's all been a lie (having sex, doing drugs etc.) . idk if the whole song is true but if it is then yeah that's my theory.= that his new song makes sense because we can connect the dots from his other music videos and songs. but idk what does everyone else think I really don't know. I'm stuck between whether it's true or not also a different theory: because you said the weekend and Abel are like two different people, what if he meant (in his song"the weeknds darkest secret") the 'the weeknd isn't a virgin, but Abel IS. 😂 like maybe he's done everything he sings about, but still feels like an innocent, virgin because maybe deep inside it hasn't meant anything or not enough. idk
Here's a suggestion do The Weeknd's "The Hills", "Can't Feel My Face", and "Tell Your Friends" the three music videos are all connected....hope you et to do in in a video....
A really big👍 to you sir, You're the reason why I'm so big The Weeknd Fan after reading the Hills explanatory post on ur site...tysm. Keep doing such quality stuff, Incredible
If you had studied the entire lyrics, it should not have escaped you that the last lines of the song are in his native Amharic language. They reveal that his ‘I’m a mf star boy’ attitude has all been a front. His real persona is actually deeply in love with someone (is it the Hills person?) and is actually feeling deep feelings. This completely changes the song and gives it much more depth. It shows how lost he feels in this fake world and that his fucked up self is in fact not his real self. Or is it?? We will never really know, and perhaps neither does he.
Great anology about his songs I definitely can have a better understanding of what he is actually saying I love the Weeknd been a fan of his for three years now
1. Can't Feel My Face - Tell Your Friends - The Hills "He starts doing and selling drugs, makes a lot of money off of it and is always hanging out with whores and bad people. Then he realizes it was a bad idea so he tries to kill that old part of him then he discovers that he is hooked on to it and can't escape" 2. Can't Feel My Face - The Hills - Tell Your Friends "He starts doing and selling drugs and makes a lot of money off of it, then he ends up doing reckless things (car flipped and exploded) and realizes that he has to get off before anything worse happens to someone or himself. 3. The Hills - Can't Feel My Face - Tell Your Friends "He has been doing drugs for a while enough for him to end up performing badly when not on drugs, hence people throwing stuff at him at the bar until "The Devil" helps him, then he realizes he has to put an end to his old life once and for all.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iMp7BHahY8c.html watch his movie when you are bored. He's a dark Sith... And his forehead is blessed with the blood and guts of little baby jesus. His writing is not from this planet. Go love him. Use a fake account if you have to. Get spiritual food from him
Hey if you ever heard the official RU-vid video of the hills at the end there is an indistinguishable voice saying something but it is not random and I just figured out what it says 😊
I just always wondered why this song was a hit; no offense to any of The Weeknd’s fans, but it was not like he had an angelic voice and 6 years ago to a foreigner like me English was hard to understand but now that found out what the song actually means I can say that The Weeknd is great!
I once had the opportunity to watch the movie "Mr Arkadin" (the criterion collection) & now anytime I listen to "The Hills" by The Weeknd (& even the music video) I think of that movie.
when reference to drugs, i think he's saying past users that have gone sober, want him to stop using. i say past users because the only coffee you get in rehab is decaf. but he's saying, why stop, because those that had gone sober are just going to relapse.
Actually, what he means when he says "i only call you when it's half past 5" is by then he's completely out of his mind waisted but when "im f-up that's the real me" he's trying to convince this person that THEY are getting the real him not the sloppy seconds, thirds etc.
In the ending , we have 3 women sitting on the bed when he enters that house? What is the meaning and f that? And,also, Whose house was it? I really need to know the answers very much..
i think in all his songs, when referencing to drugs, you have to see it/ maybe live it, to really understand. " blinding lights "being the best reference of all. ask your local user. they'll break it down. lol
This is why it’s not Selena he is singing about. This woman he sings about it the same one from Beginning to End. He didn’t know Selena yet until years later
I think this song could be about the girl from till dawn but he’s just trying to act like he’s only about her on his time, when realistically he’s in denial and wants more which is why in his native language he says I love you, you’re mine in the part where most ppl don’t understand. It makes sense imo but idk I could be wrong
Well, it's showing him rolling up to that woman's house and instead finding his demons, kind of like how the song is him trying to have an affair and talking about his demons.
Please do an explanation for Voldemort by With Confidence and maybe also explain how the title is related to the rest of the song because the story is really interesting.
The hills.. ok let me get this straight i think that song is for selena gomez😂😂 anyways.. as you can see.. at the begginning of the song he was on a crash.. noticed it.. his life was so fucked up😆 and then.. at the last of the video you see him walk inside a red room with a face of extreme regret.. and then there is this old man😅 who showed up to the song cant feel my face.. that old man represents the devil.. and the last of the video.. you can see the old man representong the devil is clearly waiting for the weeknd... yeah.. so it only means... his life got so fucked up after selling his soul to the devil.. thats why he has this facial reaction of regret at the end of the video because the room represents hell and the man represents the devil.. ok so he regrets what he did selling his soul. Because.. the last part of the video indicates that he is going to hell.. go watch the song cant feel my face and read the comment of Ryan mark.. it explains even more
IT actually represents drugs(the man). Drugs are actually a devil. He knows that drugs will make his life a hell and they will cause him loss of love, friends, youth and even death. In Can't feel my face that "devil" set him on fire. This is exactly how you feel on drugs. In Tell my friends he kills his addiction
Um hes def talking about hardcore drugs when he said the drugs feel like decaf... Thats some heroin/methadone mixup we dont do those thats a no no kids
Some drugs are so strong they will make you go to a hospital and take other drugs to get you off of the addiction... One problem fixing another problem ffs
