I like this song because she's not complaining about being misunderstood. shes just acknowledging that its impossible to show your entire self. My favorite line is "ah what can you do, there's nobody like you" So relatable and pleasant.

I love how relatable this song is to almost everyone, the song writer expressed perfectly how most people feel in there life, how we all have secrets we don't tell no matter what, we put on a fake persona around certain people. Even if the your family knows all your secret, they don't know what you think. Because really, the only one that knows who we really are is ourselves.

I remember the internet when Weepies came out. So many underground bands.. known by nobody. My feed was full of them. Now.. cannot find them anymore. I am glad to remember The Weepies and Jaymay..

My mom used to sing this to me. I was a child, so I didn’t really understand. Looking back it makes much more sense. Always made me feel the way I feel when I hear it though.

The weepies are one of the best indie folk bands that have come of the US for awhile. I cannot stop listening to them in that car - so much my kids make comments in the backseat. lol......And your English is fine.

This song makes me feel like crying but not in a bad way...It's just I never listened something that identifies me so well. That's why I love The Weepies. They are so exquisitely simple and honest that every damn lyrics is very touching and beautiful :)

This song popped in my head because I actually feel like nobody knows me at all right now. Even the people who know me more deeply still don't understand me fully. The "me" I show people is quite different than the "me" inside my head. I feel and think very deeply. I am extremely silly sometimes. I am say things when I'm by myself that I would not say in public. I enjoy things by myself that I wouldn't want people to know about. I have a difficult time expressing with spoken words what's in my head or how I feel. Writing is better because I can take my time. However, I edit myself to make myself sound good, so it's not always the most honest and in the moment. I've pretty much never felt like I belong anywhere. I'm pretty much always the person on the outside. I feel like Quasimodo from Hunchback of Notre Dame, just observing the people. People tend to like me, but that's not usually how I am in my head. I feel like people would be shocked if they saw me in all my fullness and deepness. Anyways, I doubt many (if any) will read this, but I just wanted to put this out there. It's pretty crazy that this song video is 14 years old.

I absolutely love everything you wrote ! I’ve wanted to write the same things, but just never found all the words, and I was quite sure no one would read it, or care even if they did read it. Maybe I’m the only one who read your words, probably not, but IF, know that I get ya and I understand ya, and I love ya just as you are - all the bits, tho few, that I know, and all that I may never know. They are all you and you are unique and a wonderful person ! Wish I knew you in person, as much or as little, as you let me know you. I’d be the same way. I actually have no friends because I just don’t let anyone in. They’d run away, I’m sure, and want back out quickly if they ever did get in. 😂 Maybe it’s just better to have and care for someone with neither person knowing 100% of you. Seems ok to me ! If you understand anything I’ve written on such short notice here at 6:43 in the morning after listening to the Weepies for an hour or two, good on ya dude ! I agree with you, but you must concede the wording of this is HILARIOUS. "clams are solitary". I can just picture a clam sitting alone in his shell, playing Snoods and kind of wishing the cute clam who sits next to her on the bus would talk to her.
