Not gonna lie, would love to see you look over some of the stranger eps of other cartoons like Totally Spies or some of those kids shows that just put logic so hard to one side you wonder why you didn't question it yourself as a child.
I remember Sheen’s Brain being unusually dark for Jimmy Neutron. The music, the stakes and Sheen being taken completely seriously made it a creepy watch as a kid. Kinda the “Ultimate Enemy” of the JN series
It was also the funniest as well. Sheen: (at Candy Bar) I said, Give me my free sundae! Sam Melvick: And I said there's no way you could've known there were 12,082 beans in that jar without cheating yet! Sheen: I told you, I used a complex algorithm, based on the dimensions of the jar. Sam: Uh-huh. Yesterday you thought seashells were money! Today you're using algorithms?! Sheen: Yesterday, I wasn't a genius! Now, give me my ice cream, monkey boy!
Remember when Jimmy basically made crack and everyone went bonkers and wanted more of the stuff, so he flushed the stuff and made versions that intentionally hurt them while consuming so they stop eating those candies... But sheen liked them even more, because it electrocutes him. Good times...
How about this for funny. One scrapped storyboard for an episode was to end with Jimmy asking Sheen why he doesn’t try harder to learn, which prompts Sheen to respond that he isn’t as dumb as everyone thinks he is, that he could spend his childhood trying to solve the world’s problems, but that he’d rather enjoy being a kid, all the while he takes a blank form of the test he had just flunked to quickly fill it out and handing it to Jimmy as he walks out, every answer being correct. Its kind of like that old theory about Big Ed from Ed, Edd,’n’ Eddy that Ed was smarter than he looked, but chose to just let it all go and enjoy being a kid and reading his comics.
Man that sheen’s brain episode messed me up so much as a kid that whenever another kid said anything remotely smart to me I’d get really paranoid that they were gonna go big brain
It was also pretty funny as well. Remember: Sheen: (at Candy Bar) I said: Give me my free sundae!
I freaking love your Carl "Jimmy's mom" impression. It make me laugh everytime I hear it. Please, never stop using it wherever applicable. Also, ultra instinct Carl sounds awesome!
There is no way the real Drumsy just commented on my video and said this! haha huge fan! Been watching for a long time! Thanks for stopping by and supporting! Means a lot!
Dang I remember all of these. It's been so long but it has still left such a lasting impression on me. I remember especially liking the 3-part Intergalactic showdown saga. I would definitely love to see another video in this series. It's such a nice trip down memory lane.
Favorite episode was when he made his dad cool. It was weird, but the ending where Hugh gives up everything to save Jimmy I’ve always found so touching
I really hope that Jimmy kept that age modifying portal because if he did he's functionally immortal anytime he thinks he's getting a little too old just take a couple years off especially since he'd have time to tweak it and make it safer
@@masterseal0418 Like seriously who greenlit either of those movies? I mean, all hail Halloweentown as the best Disney Halloween movie Smart House is downright dystopian when it comes to actually being scary.
No wonder he tells Sheen that he shouldn't be a genius. "Always having to help people with homework." "Always endangering the town with your stupid inventions." "Always being a pain in the butt."
I remember that episode where Sheen becomes smart, it was one of the episodes I remember well along with that Twilight Zone episode where everyone in Retroville but Jimmy gets mindcontrolled by a TV Show run by an Alien that took on the form of a sweet old lady, very creepy but awesome.
oh man i remember trying to watch planet sheen when it first came out and being legit excited for it when stuff about it was passed around b/c jimmy neutron was literally my teenage obsession and omg i got so hype when they showed jimmy's backyard/rocket and the "sheen dont touch" notes and thought it'd be the same quality of jn for sure! then i got passed that part and got hit with motion sickness. idk if im alone in that? but yeah, it was disappointing for sure
It did have some potential to be a really good spin off about sheen takeing over a planet to try to return home to his friends and family and him being pissed he is gonna miss some ultra lord episodes or somthing and even have some bits of everyone on earth trying to figure out where he went but nope didnt do that
@@RustyNips OMG RIGHT THIS WOULDVE EXCELLANT i heard there was supposed to be an episode where jimmy saves him too but it got canned due to poor ratings. also planet sheen pretending libby doesnt exist always upset my shipper heart tbh WHAT SUCKS EVEN MORE IS like a lot of other ppl i liked sheen in jn BUT it didnt ruin him for me or anything i just pretend it doesnt exist but man i'd love for new content that isnt as poor quality. just bring the gang back PLEASE.
I think a lot of why Planet Sheen failed was because Sheen as a character has what I call Jack Sparrow syndrome, i.e. a side-character who is perfectly fine with being a side character because they don't have to do the heavy lifting, but the moment Sheen was forced into being the main character much like Jack Sparrow had to carry a lot of the development and narrative weight and Sheen was not really cut out for that.
I've been rewatching many of the episodes and like, I can't even explain how often I end up going "WTF WAS THAT??" at several one-off moments in them. The first thing that comes to mind is from the episode where Jimmy and Cindy are stranded on an island. There was that one-off scene where Sheen Carl and Libby accidentally launched a rocket at a boat offscreen and it just exploded and they cut away like it never happened. There are so MANY moments like this it's incredible
Thank you for the video, Jordan. Jimmy Neutron was a great show. I think a weird episode I really enjoyed was the one where Jimmy and his Friends go to Egypt.
7:00 Remember the Real and Scary episode from Fairly Odd parents. I loved the idea of monster costumes turning people into those actual monsters. That's why I loved this special too.
Jimmy Neutron is god tier childhood nostalgia, along with Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom and those juice drinks that came in the translucent, barrel shaped bottles.
AHHHH the intergalactic showdown one was one of those episodes that stuck around in my subconscious but I didn’t quite “remember.” Such a good show and such a blast to remember.
What is wild with your series on Neutron is that I didn't even realize how much of the show I actually sat down and watch and remember as i watch here. it has never been a show that i specifically would mention as identifying as part of my childhood. so this is interesting.
My dad liked watching jimmy neutron with me and my brother and got real excited during the nanobot episode because jimmy’s dad is living an episode of the original twilight zone but with a positive spin
I'm curious as to who Goddard, Sheen, and Carl voted for in the Intergalactic Showdown. Obviously the two Votes for Jimmy were from Cindy and Libby. Jimmy votes Cindy. Bolbi voted himself out. Leaving one more vote for Cindy, and two for Bolbi. Goddard, out of loyalty, would likely vote Cindy, but also see Bolbi as a logical pick, but given the one liners from Carl and Sheen, it's anyone's guess who they voted off the team.
8:48 "If I had a nickel for every time perverse instantiation showed up in just this one jimmy neutron episode, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice"
Goddamn it, Grumpy Young Men hits so different now that I'm 26 and old enough to watch R-Rated things. I'd also love a review on Planet Sheen because that show doesn't get enough hatred for what it is: a spinoff show starring Sheen, a former Ensemble Darkhorse from a show whose last episode (remember, this was 2006 and cable TV was still hanging onto the idea of rerunning shows and clip shows still had a shred of usefulness) wasn't even an actual end to Jimmy Neutron. Plus, oh, great - I was going to start watching Buzz Lightyear and now he's gonna be Meldar Prime.
win lose and kaboom is one of the spookiest episodes I have seen during my childhood. those brain with huge eyes creatures stuck with me for years. and of course the whole plot of it.
Were all the kids are all grown up and Jimmy is married to Cindy and they have twins a boy and a girl. Sheen and Libbey are married with their son and Carol owns a Lima farm and their kids go to the school they went to when they were kids.
Yeah! Do Planet Sheen! Also wow why was the Win Lose and Kaboom episode so ingrained in my mind? Was there a part 2 or something? Edit: Oh wait it was a 3 part episode? That explains it! This was a great video!
Planet Sheen is a classic case of giving a popular side character the lead role without understanding that they work best as a side character. Sheen got Jack Sparrow’d.
