A showcase of some of the strangest changes made from Jurassic World Evolution, to Jurassic World Evolution 2. It's all 100% nitpicky nonsense, so it's not meant to be taken seriously. It's all a bit fascinating really.
I was still watching an ad for the video when I saw this comment, I fully agree and will still play jwe1 sometimes just to play the 5 deaths. Jwe3 needs them back if it gets made
same bro, I was so sad to not see the orange lights when I bought the game let's hope JWE3 will be the ultimate game, with the nice things of JWE1 and 2
The aviary should be something you spawn as really small, but then you pull the sides of it and the dome grows bigger and bigger until you get to the size of the one from the movie which was very big. The lagoons should be placed how normal fences are, but when you connect them together the center fills in.
Something I want for evolution 3 is to choose how deep the lagoons are so if you make them shallow enough they could become rivers for the dinosaurs which some could swim in. Maybe even showing some animals breaking into lagoons for water or aquatic animals breaking out of the lagoon when they see something big enough like a low flying helicopter or a dinosaur on the side. Humans would be too small to properly see so would be safe. I’d also like more interactions between the animals. Maybe even Spinosaurids fighting some smaller aquatic animals like Plesiosaurus or maybe Lioplueradon (which would be incredibly 1 sided but then again a small armoured herbivores can be fight and be killed in 1 hit so). I’d probably also want like a new skin setting where the dinosaurs become Paleo accurate and the old skins become colour pallets for them. I’d also probably want more permanent scaring like maybe a Rex losing part of a tail or an arm in a fight and more unique fights in general. Circle can insinuate the fight and then they fight truly. Fast with heavy blows. And maybe big groups of defenceless herbivores working together against something like 3 gallimimus can fight against a velociraptor or 3 parasaurolophus can fight 1 T. Rex. I’d prefer that 1 hadrosaur could fight a battle but I’ll take what I can get
I noticed a trend that in JP/JW themed park building games the environment become increasingly lifeless: In the original Jurassic Park Operation Genesis, when a dinosaur ran into a tree, birds came out of its canopy. Birds migrated across the island in a V formation, colorful butterflies sometimes flew by, and depending on the weather, other animals could be heard in the environment. In Jurassic World Evolution, only parrots appear, and only when you clear or place a forest, but other than that, pretty much nothing. And in Jurassic World Evolution 2, the situation is even worse, apart from the music, the sounds of the wind and the weather, the maps of the game are completely silent and there is no sign of any other animals that are not dinos or humans (at least as far as I know)
what big changes? ocean and flyer creatures that are glitched as hell? i still remembe when the jw2 came that a jeep lands on the water like lands on the ground this game is just a stupid money wash
@@riiccc I have Both and with and without mods i don't have any glitch in the 'new' features (aviary and lagoons) lol. All the missions and Chaos Theory without a glitch. Also, I have a few bugs but only with normal dinos, like Utahraptor and the water problem.
One that is so major but no one seems to talk about is how they got rid of the ceratopsian kill animation that was in the first game. It used to be a kickass horn impale but now everything that dies to a ceratopsian just flops over. It seems so strange that they wouldn’t include something that was so easily portable
I'm afraid JWE 3 is just gonna repeat the same cycle and leave out even more stuff from JWE 1 and now also JWE 2 This is one of the many reason of why I just don't have faith in JWE 3 justifying its own existence.
Animals won't chat in circle like they used to do. Stegosaurs don't move their tails in circles while walking and dinosaurs don't run at all if not needed. This little things brought more life to the animals but they were forgotten, idk why. Also, the Nasutoceratops used to look much better in JWE
The dinosaurs in JWE 1 ran all the time, it makes sense as to why they toned that shit down, an animal won't run unless it really needs to, why not reflect the same in the game?
It’s so odd that the scale for buildings changes so drastically between games, one of the strangest changes was the JWE 2 Visitor centre being a circular building not the accurate shape from the first JWE.
the disappointing things in JWE2 are the JP signs, Raptor Paddock not being able to be damaged, the old amenities, the visitor center easter egg, and the skins and modifications have no effect on their appeal
i understand why Frontier didnt allow foliage to stack and the fences to be the same height (for challenge mode balance and for Raptor Animations), but it should be a changeable thing in sandbox
Genuinely annoyed the ranger vehicles don't have tranquilizers on them. My favorite part about the first game was getting in my truck and manually fixing my park and tranquilizing dinosaurs who had escaped
This sort of cements my opinion that JWE2 was rushed out to production, and I always wondered why they couldn’t just do everything they did in JWE2 in JWE, but Idk
Fellow Park Manager, just came across your channel and subscribed. There is another original JWE difference; there is no longer an escaped JP 3 pterodactyl flying overhead in JWE 2 and the current JWE 2 guest shops no longer have building animations for at least two years now. From what I remember, Frontier has a more reduced staff now hence the confusion.
Vehicles actually handled better in the first game (instead of flipping ass over end when hitting a pebble like in the jwe2). And I miss the Ranger Jeeps having the ability to medicate and tranq.
I miss how actually ngreen alot of the greenery was, sure jwe2 has better and more realistic graphics at the cost of looking more apealling to the eyes
Sometimes most of the effort is added to the first proyect because it is new and the ideas are fresh and creative but when the second time comes out, the ideas get a bit tricky and boring because "We already did this, we need something different" and because of this, the second projects sometimes dont have the same energy as the first ones. Doesn't mean they are bad in my opinion, I love JWE 2.
yea i think this hit me the worst. the dinosaurs almost feel boring in jwe2 which is surprising because they are objectively less boring than they were in jwe1
One of my biggest complaints is the fact that they left all the cool skin types from JWE1 and the fact that rangers and helicopters can’t both medicate, tranquilize or shoot flares all at the same time. It just made it way more convenient than adding a EMT station lol
JWE was more fun to play than JWE2 sure there were less dinosaurs but the quality of the game was supremely better than the shit show lighting and drab buildings in JWE2
While JWE2 is a better game generally speaking I feel like the first game had better and more immersive graphics, I really miss the lush environment of the first game, the tropical grass and foliage looked so much more dense and real and it responded really nicely to dinosaurs walking through it and such, everything also actually looked wet after rain and the lighting and shadows were so much prettier.
I dunno if that's true but I'd say that's a good thing, quite frankly they're too big as of now and it breaks the game's sense of scale (on top of being the reason small species don't work very well)
8:35 I think the only reason they didn’t add more decoration to the jp arrival point is because it was so much bigger. And I personally prefer the smaller Jwe2 one.
What I have to complain about Jurassic World Evolution 2 for me is how you've changed the dinosaur genome, I'd like it to be similar to the second game, only the strength and defence part would be like the first one where you had all those animals
I know most of you prefer a sandbox builder with infinite money, but I prefer sandbox with money, and JWE2 didn’t really improve on the main issues with economy the first one had. Starting with low money and high difficulty like high tax, is still pretty difficult early on, but after your second dinosaur you might as well have infinite money it’s so easy.
I feel some of these structures could be reused or atleast repurposed, the weather protection building can be useful for structures that can't be protected. As for the greenhouse, I feel it can work 2 ways, a minor attraction, and maybe a building that can enhance the plants in an enclosure, or maybe needed to research additional plants that can be very beneficial, sort almost akin to how Operation genesis had a case where you can use paleo plants which are expensive but wont harm dinos, or use more modern day plants, cheaper but will have a chance to harm animals. Also I noticed for the Aviary those spires are missing and I thought those would rock tons to have. As for the Raptor pen, eh its nice sure, great if its a decoration with life which people wanted from the benches.
There's a lot I didn't notice but it's still a shame. The dinos not grazing is such a downgrade! The lack of lighting on the JW sign. Also, the paddocks looked better when the herbivores ate from feeders instead of extinct plants. Having those extinct tropical trees and flowers on the Sierra/snow map makes no sense (they don't really fit any of the maps except the tropical ones) and we could hide the feeders with trees before. I also preferred the tree brush in the 1st game. It was easier to place the trees the way you want them.
I kinda miss the old skins Especially Rain Forest Spino And I can’t play JWE Because I play it on The switch and the switch charger is missing and the controls are really buggy But I could always just buy it on a different device
Currently playing JWE2 Though I like the dinosaurs in the second game better, the campaign itself was better in the first game with the five deaths Also the facility mechanics for JWE2 are needlessly complicated and confusing while JWE had a more understandable system.
What i don't like from jwe 2 is....the lighting and the color of tropical map is to vibrant to harsh...i rather have the jwe 1 lighting and color's better it much cooler in the eyes it's more green kinda blue'ish much accurate to represent how they make the lighting from their first jurassic world franchise lighting was like...and also the folliage in tropical map on jwe 2 is boring they loses a lot of fundamental thing that makes the forest of the tropical climates would looks like...the vines and randomise bushes and trees...in jwe 1 the trees has a vines and much variative type of bush and trees on one brush and also i'm kinda missing some of the interaction from a group of dinos that'll chating around in circle sometimes

Also were I was really pissed off was with the default Giganotosaurus (my fav dino) the nerfed the heck out of him in terms of size and everything 😢😢😢😢 But hey everything is better as long we have more decorations according to the girl from evolution square channel 🙄🙄🙄🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Is it just me or does everyone's JWE 2 game hardly ever have storms? I'm not talking sandbox, but the other modes. Like thankfully not, but it's weird I hardly ever got storms in Chaos theory or anything.
Yeah I find the 2nd especially pretty lazy, although it added new things it wasn’t enough because it ignored all the things fans wanted, now fans liked it, to a point that a 3rd one is being made, but I am sick of these park builders. The IP needs survivor horror, but I do not believe it will happen. JWE3 better be a masterpiece or I am not buying it because these games do bare minimum
Truth. JWE 2 is good for all the new species and sandbox mode with all the different maps. But JWE 1's campaign plot is soooo much better than JWE 2's plot. And Chaos Theory was a big pain to play through (I didn't finish any of the parks except the 1st - and that was after restarting it). The fussy guests and constant sick/injured dinos are such a drag.
It really does feel like in evo2 you’re trying to build the prettiest park while in evo1 you’re just about the dinosaurs. Evo2 really corresponds to the original dinosaur park builder.

its wierd but i liked the first games vibe alot more. maybe it's because i was younger and nostalgia but it really felt like a spectacle for EVERY dinosaur. the campaign in JWE1 felt alot better done too. but idk maybe just nostalgia. i could sit down and watch the dinosaurs just live alot better in the first game.
