For all the questions about "who is this aimed for", the founders Luke and Kevin have mentioned that they wanted to use GLITCH to fill the really specific niche of "indie animation directed toward teens and young adults" (since animation is typically either made entirely directed to kids, or made to intentionally break that status quo by being exceptionally R-rated) with the added accessibility and convenience of being a web series. Personally, I like to think of The Amazing Digital Circus and Murder Drones as the two opposite sides of that coin. Where TADC's charm comes from its cartoonish style hiding its dark, nihilistic, cosmically horrifying context and circumstances, Murder Drones thrives in its ability to perfectly balance extremely goofy and self-aware humor underneath the incredibly well-crafted dark story and environments. Also, Murder Drones perfectly embodies and stretches the idea of "it's not gore if it's robots instead of people", and REALLY comes close to the line without crossing it. I can't recommend any series more than these two. (also PS hazbin isn't made by GLITCH but some of their people are involved with both, if i'm not mistaken)

Also you've NAILED what Caine was doing with the door - he's just not capable of thinking of 'outside' except as a distant, impossible abstract. Also also, you're right, she's known these people for a couple of hours at most - but when it zooms out to the outside view of the computer they're in, No One's Sat There Wearing The Headset. So where'd she go? - Unanswered as yet. But it's probably the second most horrifying question, right behind How Many People Are In That Abstraction Victim Cellar.

You spent the whole being confused and having trouble following along, and yet, you instantly hit the nail on the head with Caine and The Exit. I'm genuinely impressed.

An interesting fact is that POMNI's name translates as "remember" in Russian language. It is also one of the few studios that provide Russian voice acting at the start. Russian community appreciates this very much!

I agree, I think Caine isn’t evil but an ai/program that doesn’t fully grasp the situation. He’s designed to make the game fun, so he keeps building new features/adventures, he protects them from their minds abstracting at seeing the void & he fixes the glitches/quarantines those that are fully abstracted. Yet he doesn’t comprehend the mental strain on a person, like what exactly an exit/leaving is. He thinks it’s to go somewhere but has no actual understanding that humans are meant to come & go, that humans aren’t meant to be turned digital. Plus the exit door has 2 major things. Caine’s exit door was red with the arrow facing right. The one Pomni saw outside the grounds was orange & the arrow facing left. I think there is in fact an actual door that can get the humans out, put only Pomni can see it cos she is the actual key to unlock it. My theory is that Pomni will be the one to convince Caine what an exit actually is/or the metal toll that’s on the humans being stuck here. Maybe Pomni can be the one to help prevent & possibly reverse abstraction, freeing all the others who’ve been sent to the cellar. I might be wishful thinking but Pomni strikes me as someone who deserves a happy ending, or at least someone who should get to escape going insane/trapped.

Glitch is run by the same people who run SMG4. They wanted to give creators with big dreams a chance to realize their dreams of creating their own shows. Murder Drones has Liam Vickers as a showrunner. He's an animator and storyteller here on RU-vid specializing in comedy and horror. The Amazing Digital Circus has Gooseworks as a showrunner. She's a youtuber who dips her hands in animation, music and storytelling. She made some music for Hazbin hotel if I am not mistaken.

To give you a "Glitch" rundown: It's an animation company made by two brothers, Luke and Kevin Lerdwichagul. The former started the RU-vid channel SMG4 in 2009 I think, creating simple Super Mario 64 Machinima videos. While he kinda still does thag all the way up until now, his videos kept growing. Eventually he started using GMod to make parts of his videos, and eventually even got into full professional 3D Animation. Somewhere along the way, his brother also got on board and they wanted to create a full animated, original 3D Series. That's Meta Runner, their first main original work. That too originally started on the SMG4 channel. But once they became more and more popular, they eventually created a whole animation company, even getting funded by the Australian government among many others. While they're both part of the company, by now, Luke, the creator of SMG4 is moreso concerned with keeoing THAT going (to huge success as well, having grown the show to be it's own worthy series rather than "just SM64 machinima"), while his brother Kevin seems to be mainly keeping up their company, which, while plenty big and successful before, just made their BIG breakthrough with The Amazing Digital Circus. Which, just like Murder Drones, is a show that was technically not created by them, but by an independent artist that joined with Glitch to make their show a reality. Sunset Paradise - to mention the final missing puzzle piece - is kind of a "Spin-Off" series to "SMG4". Being it's own story that works on it's own, but being all about the "vacation" of a popular character that came from (and returned to) the SMG4 cast.

The reason why there was a 6 month gap was because episode 1 was a pilot to see if it would pop off like there previous work Murder Drones which was super successful, and started production after they saw the results.

The Amazing Digital Circus takes loose inspiration from a 1960's short story by the name of "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream". About an AI Torturing the last 5 humans on Earth as revenge. (Oddly, there's six humans here, hmm...) The Show is a mix of spontaneous random humor as well as an overarching narrative of existentialism that'll get more touched upon as we progress with episodes.

Another one to check out is Helluva Boss, the RU-vid sister show to Hazbin that focuses on the rest of Hell.

I have the theory that the perfomers represent different personality disorders. Anxiety(pomni), fear(kingler), selfishness(jax), anger(kaufmo), etc. What if the headset was a technology that was supposed to help cure ppl of their debilitating personality disorders. Strap it on and instantly feel relief from your crippling issue. BUT what if the tech takes those negative aspects of your mind away and dumps them into the circus? That's why they have no memory. Also, it would lend itself to making the existential horror even worse because even with a route back to the real world, they've nowhere to go. 😱🙂 Interesting things I've spotted. * Before the introduction song Caine mentioned "paraphernalia" that "we" would be seeing. That implies objects/items/things and yet what we end up watching is the trapped performers... * When Caines watch detected a player in the Void, he said "oh no, they'll be *spoiled*". That's a word used for perishable goods/food/products..... * When Jax said "she still thinks it's a dream", he was not talking to Ragatha. He was breaking the forth wall and talking to us.... * The adventures aren't dangerous, but Kaufmo's abstracted form was as Zoobles fate barely bothered them but Kaufmo's was seen as a real danger. Re- Jax's reaction to the adventure compared to Kaufmo. *Caine isnt all-seeing because he had no idea what was going on to his circus or players, even abstraction, until Pomni entered the void. Then he still didnt know himself, his wacky watch alarm had to alert him. *Caine barely knows anything about the real world.... " *Drown* in the digital Lake,..... *ridery* at the digital fair" hint at that. If that's so how did he know what offices in the real world looks like? Maybe through the cameras in the place where the headset and computer are sitting? That also explains why the exit maze has "A" computer office room but is not "THE" computer office room. I dont think they are the same because Caine's had no windows or natural light but the one we come out of at the end has natural light streaming across the wall. * Other than the final corridor connected to the void the Exit Maze was totally stable, until Pomni's extreme reaction to the computer and headset started causing the lights to flicker on and off.... why then? 🤔 Thoughts on "sad and weak" Gangle. With Gangle's masks. They both look fragile, and the comedy mask did break after a small drop.( in a little extra from Gooseworx, we see Gangle looking in a mirror with broken comedy masks all over the walls.) But when she was dragged into the Gloink hole her sad mask smashed into the ground, hard, but didn't even get a blemish on it. That implies that her "smile" is so very thin yes.... but that her core, and yes sad, self is a lot tougher than she looks. 🤔..😥💪...🤔 Ok that's some of the stuff ive picked up on. Could it be meaningful or could mean nothing 😅

40:13 the reason for the big gap is because "ep 1" is a pilot episode, they need the public opinion to see if they like it and get funding to continue production for another episode

You manage to find yourself on the most interesting sides of the internet my friend. I remember when I found you during your NF journey yet somehow you managed to get into the indie animation side of youtube now. I hope to see episode two soon although I recommend also watching the "Pomni Wake Up" video before that or along side it. Not really too much importance to the plot but I still think it's important to watch before episode 2. As for why there's such a long gap between episode 1 and 2 (and also such a long gap in between any episode of any series they make) well you said it yourself. There production team is small at least compared to the mainstream media company's you'd expect to be producing such a big piece of animation. A animation series with themes of existential horror but with the color and characters you'd expect from a kids show. It should also be noted that while Glitch is the company producing the show, Gooseworx, as you can see in the credits is the writer and creator of TADC. She was the one with the concept, glitch is the one that took it on to animate and produce the show. Same with the creator of Murder Drones which would also be cool for you to check out. As others have explained in the comment section, the idea behind glitch was to give others a chance to realize their dreams, specifically in animated indie projects like this. Murder Drones when it came out blew up an impressive amount which is part of how Glitch already had an audience when they uploaded the pilot to this show. (btw, this is considered "episode 1" now just so there's no confusion) Take the fact that they already had a impressive audience of people, it makes sense that this show would also become a hit, though no one truly expected how massive it became. Anyways I do hope you enjoy the rest of your journey through this landscape and am excited to see where it takes you!

And we also have confirmation on who was here the longest and shortest. __Characters who were there Longest to Shortest__ -Kinger is the first to arrive at the circus and has said to have been there the longest -Ragatha who has been inside the circus the second longest next to Kinger -Jax came up with Gangle's name which most likely means that he had to be at the circus before she arrived -Zooble has been confirmed to have spent the shortest amount of time in the circus before Pomni. Lets go, I was just thinking about pestering you to follow this series.

So this show has a lot of late 90s early 2000s references, particularly around videogame references. the simple shapes of late 90s CGI, Bubble looks like the chain chomp from Mario, dial tone internet, kinger looks like Earthworm Jim design, Jax is like the Sam and Max game, the graphic on the opening title is similar to the N64, and a lot of glitches are like the game glitches, there is a pong reference, and in 1995 Nintendo had released their first VR headset. So there is a familiarity to the show with its surrounding and characters as someone who grew up during the time period. The story is more complicated than it seems. I really like the show.

If you want to see some REALLY strange nonsense, you should check out the others animations of Gooseworx, the creator of The Amazing Digital Circus. Seriously, she comes up with some weird-ass stuff. I recommend Little Runmo, Elain the Bounty Hunter, and Ghost of the Year for starters. There is a very light an tenuous possibility of this series being connected with Murder Drones, via alike looking office cubicles having briefly appeared in both series, but there's more to it, it has yet to be revealed in either series. Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are by Vizipop. Murder Drones and Digital Circus are by Glitch. They do share the occasional voice actor though, I think.

Hazbin is made by RU-vidr Vivziepop (Who also makes Helluva Boss) while Murder Drones and Amazing Digital Circus are made by Glitch. Although both are indie small animation studios (Although Viv has worked with amazon prime) they're two different groups! To answer your other question, Caine and Bubble are not human, while the others are, so they don't understand emotions the way the other circus members do. Its kind of sad, because Kaufmo only abstracted (lost his mind) because he saw an exit, so Caine unintentionally kind of killed him.

I never made the Jumanji connection until you brought it up, but it totally applies here.

about caine, it's confirmed that he's an AI and he's also NOT a villain. Being an AI, he just has no concept on human emotion, and that's why he often doesn't change the situation if not make it worse, despite having positive intentions. He's genuinely trying to help them though, like ragatha mentions, caine gives them 'adventures' to keep their minds stimulated so that they dont go insane -- which, unfortunately didn't save kaufmo from insanity

I highly recommend checking out at least the first few episodes of Murder Drones too! It's a show that goes from good to fantastic and provides a lot of fun trying to piece together the many mysteries that get layered on!

I honestly felt the pilot episode did a decent job at establishing the setting and introducing the characters, though obviously there are still some things left unanswered, presumably to be addressed in later episodes. It’s a good thing the pilot did so well that it got greenlit for a whole season!

It can be a little confusing, but you should also watch murder drones if you get the chance. Same creators and another RU-vid Indie series. 6:25 yes. I don't remember word for word, but it was basically the safe mode warning you, switching on and off and glitching as it rearranged the instructions on how to use safe mode. It was a keyboard command.

You should try Murder Drones. It’s a very different style and isn’t as popular, but it is by far the best Glitch show

About the Exit Door, maybe Cain lies. Seriously, first he tell at Pomni it does'nt exist bu at the end, yeah it exists but he doesn't finish this. Really ? And an exit door who finish into the Void - who can "spoil" the players - and with this strange computer who maked Pomni more cray and appar at the end ? Suspicious !

You'll probably end up watching Helluva Boss and Murder Drones later down the line. But be warned! Shows of this caliber being animated for youtube is quite recent. I remember watching many youtube original shows, like camila cuevas undertale au, and some very cringe animatics even for the time. Not everything you watch will be that good :P
