Season 2 was a step up from season 1. I really hope season 3 keeps raising the bar. Still holding out hope I can get an epic version of Mat's duel vs Galad and Gawyn. It was in book 3 but that scene made me fall in love with the character. (*He was my favorite by the end)
Don't know that that scene holds the same weight but it still would be cool... As readers we were surprised. Now, it's not surprising to the reader... Just fun to see princely, swordman pride humbled.... There's so much important to story to cover. I'm not even sure when they're supposed to meet! I kind of like it that they've gotten back to the point where they can mirror the books more again. The season was a rewrite because of COVID and an actor leaving.
Matt is,also one of my favourite characters and they havd done him dirty, just like all the three boys, to create a Igwayne Mary Sue. Between the two rivers girls my favourite character is stubborn Nynieve and I am a huge Catsuane fan. Withe tower politics, so much emphasized in the story I find rather boring.
As a long time, avid reader, The Shadows Rising is my hands down favorite book of any genre. I am so afraid that all the things that make it such a good book are going to be cut out of the TV show and other less relevant stories will take their place. If it happens like that, it will literally kill me.
Hahaha. Thanks. She's honestly one of my favorite characters because of how unhinged she is. Her POVs are delusional in the most entertaining way possible.
Really hoping they don't cut the stone of tear. The climax of book 3, the miasma's, Mat's questions, and Rand being unable to heal death are some of the most gripping scenes in the aeries
@@roadtotarvalon this fight was in the world of dreams though and the thread is the last example of all the main characters converging into on epic climax until arguably the showdown at Shayol Ghul
I hope season 3 is closer to the books as Rafe has said. It's really disappointing how much has to be cut to fit into the time allowed, but the time and cost of trying to fit it all in would be impossible, although more and longer episodes would help. The writing has improved a lot, but it just doesn't feel like the story in the books, and some of the changes were unnecessary, detrimental or both. I hope they can fix some of this.
Wait, what?!!! All of that....in one season?! One 8 episode season? How?!!! I don't really see how to do this without Asmodian! Book for was my favorite! I also hope we get Lan training random a sword this season... The only other option to get sword play into it is after.... Well to avoid spoilers I'll just call it.... The mountaintop unification
Chrisjen Avasarala LET'S GO! Shohreh Aghdashloo is one of my absolute favorite characters, and The Expanse is probably my absolute favorite book series. I'm so happy.
We definitely need Thom back! I hope they're not afraid to bring a few more of his tropes and from the books. It seems a too little extra grizzly, in season 1.
This book could have been 2 different series, the main one in the Waste and the other with the Black Ajah. Have them be a year apart so you always have one show a year. You can also delve way deeper into each storyline.
I think the Stone of Tear is coming later, possibly season four, with Rand leading the Aiel in an assault on it, having proven himself to be the Car’a Carn at Rhuidean. (Let’s face it, in the books Rand takes Callendor- - and then sticks it right back into the Stone and doesn’t touch it again for any number of books.)
Two episodes for character build up that's too long 🥺🥺🥺 - coz they end up creating scenes that r not book related and unnecessary, one is enough unless they want to film 10-15 episodes
I read The Wheel of Time Books in my early 20's, the books were AMAZING! I ❤❤❤ them! I'm actually thinking of re-reading them because its been so long. Unfortunately i do not have anyway to watch TWoT😢 im so upset!!! Can anyone tell me what stations this is on? Someone told me Prime? Is this correct??? I just edited because i just saw that it is indeed on Prime:( which i do not have...😢 everyone is saying how beautifully rendered this is to the books...is this true??
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER - - - - - - - - - - - - Imagine it...a forsaken that uses music as a way to channel and his go to weaves have something to do music, a beautiful melody to act as compulsion, a rock piece to lay waste with fire and exploding earth. Im already in love with Asmodean...🥺❤️
@@roadtotarvalon Reading some online comments: having Rand first go to the waste and get the Aiel on his side, and then go to Tear with them in tow makes sense.
Honestly it makes sense this season to have the two very Nynaeve and Egwene centric episodes, when next season has Rhuidean and Two Rivers. Not saying it's going to make people happy to give a bigger focus on one or two characters per season, but in the time frame of 8 episodes, it feels like the logical choice.
You are mistaking Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time with the Amazon fan fiction. Yes in the books Padin Fain goes back to the two Rivers but please explain what reason Amazon's completely destroyed and nonsensical character called Padin Fain has for that? His boss Ishy is dead. He also was never instilled with an uncontrollable need to hunt and kill Rand which is why he went back to the two rivers. He also was never possessed by Mashadar and does not have nor care about the Shadar Logoth Dagger so he is not an evil entity of his own independent of the Dark One like in the books. So who is this so called Padin Fain from the show and what are his motivations going forward for doing ANYTHING at all?
I'm gonna tell you right now buddy...we don't care 😂😂 this is an adaptation. Not all of the 14 books are going to fit. This is the show you get. So if you're gonna cry and whine about it every time then you'll be doing it for a loooooong time😂
I'd prefer drinking Mat's tea while listening to Limp Bizkit's "Nookie" on an endless loop while watching the Steppin scene on repeat rather than read another sad commenter claiming butchery combined with an "lol" to prove how not mad about it they really are.
Too many shortcuts. No motivations apparent. Was starting to like this series again after s1 finale, but the s2 finale happened. I'll still watch whatever they churn out, but both seasons thus far earn a 5/10 for me. I don't care about the rich tapestry of this city or that. I wanna see it. I wanna feel it. They had that with Egwenes arc, but the show was still lacking in depth. I don't care what Rafe SAYS he's gonna do. I just wanna see what he does.
Because we'd like to hear something concrete that addresses the concerns fans have had over 2 seasons? Sorta weird to hear somebody describe the neglect of the boys characters and development as "slightly less satisfying" too :P Rand has had two immensely important moments in taken from him (and more) in the channelling the Eye of the World (which demonstrates how dangerous he is) and the battle in the clouds... but the fact he has another epic moment coming up should reassure us? Perrin was mostly walking, and we FINALLY, after 15 episodes and zero build up, see another axe. They fridged his wife and didn't bring up Perrin's struggle between the hammer (creation) and the axe (destruction) since. The CORE of his character arc. Matt also FINALLY gets something (admittedly, they actually have an excuse there) which is nice. Exactly what have the boys got so far, from 3 books worth of material? Matt's dagger arc was (giggle) cut short, Perrin's wolf brother stuff... happened. Which is nice. But fails on the CHARACTER side. And Rand? Didn't do much in S1 (to the point viewers guessed he was the dragon BECAUSE he was Mr Bland) and in S2 he's... also not done much. His BIG moment was the "Indiana Jones" homage. Which was a joke made bc Harrison Ford was too ill to learn the fight choreography. Was it a cool moment? Sure. But was it a BIG MOMENT for the Dragon Reborn that demonstrates he is the coming harbinger of the last battle? Do you REALLY want to make that argument? Egwene fights the Forsaken more than he does. What have the girls done: Destroy an entire army of trollocs and resurrect a bunch of people. Twice. Nynaeve can track better than a warder. And is apparently training with a sword & ignoring her powers. Which isn't totally just Rand's early arc. Egwene is more powerful than anyone and does everything without help. (Perrin shields her when she's soloing a Forsaken. Wow. Much help) Moiraine don't need no man. Until she gets her powers back, then she TOTALLY respected him all along. She was just pretending bro. & she can ENTIRELY wreck an entire fleet of ships. From a huge distance. No implications there... Nope. The Dragon is totally still the scary one... He totally pushed a sword into a guy who didn't defend himself! Liandrin gets HUGE amounts of screen time to develop (ands it's good stuff, no doubt. Until her son gets killed and it... doesn't change anything?) Elayne can heal now. But as dirty as they've done the boys... they screwed up the girls too. Is Nynaeve even a healer in the show now? Will Elayne struggle with insecurity as a FAR less powerful channeller than her peers, or is she now the healer of the group. Or is it Egwene who can raise the dead? Moiraine has just been... an awful person the whole season and now is fine destroying an entire fleet of ships on her own (a feat accomplished by the Heroes in the books. All of them together. This is the SECOND time they've done this in a finale What are the point of armies if a single Aes Sedai or a group of novices can destroy them? And why are the Damane so ineffective, considering they focus almost EXPLICITLY on warfare and are not restricted by the three oaths. Make it make sense :P) Min is a darkfriend ("no she's not, she's just knowingly working for the forsaken!") Speaking for myself, I just want to hear any acknowledgement from Rafe of issues within the show. And not "it needs more episodes" when half of the season was spent with characters who aren't even in the finale. The nearest I've heard is reassurance that season three will "more closely follow the books" which again isn't as reassuring as it might be :P And according to people who hate all criticism targeting the show, it's not even necessary. You know. For an adaptation. To follow the story. Of the thing it is adapting. Just a RECOGNITION of the hubris and a sincere wish to do better would go a long way. What we get is similar to George Bush on a battleship declaring "mission accomplished" :P At least we got some cool casting news. Even if I wish she was playing Cadsuane instead (is she too likable to play a villain? We'll see ^^) @@roadtotarvalon
@@roadtotarvalon I am ever hopeful that they will come to their senses and remember the reason for choosing to make WoT into a series - the fact that they are adapting an incredible series of books by Robert Jordan, not a flawed vision by Rafe Judkins.
