The most unrealistic part is that they didn't gag from rotting skin on their faces and immediately attracted the horde around them to their presence by doing so.
@1timeuser0904 for sure. There are people that work in sewers every day, there are people that disembowel farm animals for food every day. People adapt to their circumstances
@@chimchu3232 But the thing is, people aren't at the threat of death immediately when they do it the first time. I imagine quite a lot of whisperers would die in the first 5 minutes of trying their... profession
@@cornixdemetrius7883 that's true, but I'm figured they try the masks on at camp and get used to them before being thrown into a horde of walkers, but honestly alpha is pretty brutal so maybe they do have to adapt quickly or die
My one beef with the walking dead is that it’s all about the “next generation” and yet that’s the demographic that gets killed off the most so they never have the chance to grow and be anything
Thats honestly a valid criticism. But to be fair, all the kids dying were born pre apocalypse from what I remember. It seems like they want a "Next generation" with kids who know nothing but the apocalypse
Think post Cell Saga Dragon Ball Z. Gohan wasn’t as popular as keeping Goku the main protagonist. This season made me fall in love with watching the walking dead again.
@@imepic434So many? I can only think of three out of all the pairings on the show. Besides, with children getting orphaned like Gracie was thanks to Rick, that would mean children would need adoptive parents, like Aaron.
I found Henry to be by far one of the most infuriating characters in the whole show. Teenage hormones and his savior complex started a war that got himself and SO MANY others killed.
Can you blame him? Imagine growing up as the Prince of a post apocalyptic kingdom being led by the (at the time) most optically inspiring person in the setting. Mix the hype off that with teenage hormones and you’d be crazy not to be arrogant and naive.
I quit watching after like 7-8 season and then randomly decided I wanted to watch it years later and boy was I glad.. the whisperers arc was amazing and saved the whole for me!
Okay how does this not have more views?!?!? It's perfectly crafted, the ideas are well put together, and overall it's just very interesting hearing the story retold. Not to mention the voice has no faults or overused words, incredible.
Dude this is amazing, finally someone doing comprehensive overviews of the TWD arcs. Ive been combing through clips of the whisperer war for so long not really wanting to watch the entire season, keep up the great work bro.
Thanks so much man! I’m in the same boat, I love long form analyzation and there’s a shockingly low amount on here for the walking dead. There will definitely be more to come!
If you take a break from the show and got sometime going back and watching it will make you go through alot of emotions and not gonna lie the negan arc through that is worth the watch alone
38:35 they already had a whole scene where Beta listens to his own music, I love that they played the Talking Heads in that scene. I was wondering throughout the show if the walking dead would reference the talking heads and when it happened I was over the moon
The Whisperers took out a bunch of lame characters outside of Jesus and the scene of all those heads on the pikes was pretty shocking and unique. Beta was a great challenge for Daryl to overcome. Alpha was a legit bad ass and I loved the way she spoke. It was a very effective enemy for the group.
No chance Alpha would be as fat and out of shape as the actress was for her character, with all the walking and calorie burning the character supposedly does. Terrible actress choice for Alpha.
To be fair he just didn’t live up to his comic counterpart, At no fault of the actor of course. I feel bad for Tom Payne,Jesus’s actor. He trained pretty heavily in martial arts for the role, expecting it to be like the comics. I don’t think he was too upset to be killed off
@@silentj624The solo woman Rick finds on the outskirts of the prison. She tells him her & her husband are so hungry & haven’t eaten in a long time & I can’t remember why, but she gets Rick to follow her back to her camp, where her husband is. Along the way Rick is asking her the questions they ask possible newcomers to the group & the way she answers isn’t very normal, but I think Rick calms himself down remembering she’s probably not seen another human in a while & is also dehydrated & hungry. When the woman & Rick make it to camp he is expecting to see her husband emerging from the tent or something, but it looks empty & the woman keeps saying how hungry her and her husband are & right when she goes to attack Rick to kill him Rick realizes what’s going on and has to kill her. If I remember correctly, as she’s dying she apologizes & he forgives her (I could be wrong) and the big plot twist is: Her husband was a walker & she was wanting to feed him & herself by sacrificing Rick. When the prison is overtaken later that season we see this lady in walker form arriving with other walkers to the prison. Pretty cool detail
The Whisperers were the only antagonists that lived up to their hype. I loved these two seasons and it’s a shame Samantha Morton didn’t get an Emmy nomination. She was fantastic. In the end, I loved the poetry to the conclusion of the Whisperers arch. A Whisperer stole Carol’s reason to live and it was a Whisperer that hat gave her a reason to continue to survive.
Masterpiece. Plz do any "deep dive" or "explained" videos over TWD. I subscribed halfway through man, never seen someone comb through an arc/season while mentioning the import yet finer details. Know you said you wouldn't cover it in the video but it would be cool to see some comparisons from the comics to the show that were either good or bad overall to the arc/story through out the entire series.
I can't wait lol! You didn't get lazy with the editing. You added the right parts of the show to make it flow with your narrative of how you wanted to explain what happened. I really have to applaud you!
I thoroughly enjoyed your whisperer catch up. I departed The Walking Dead long ago, but you help me catch up and I may go back to The Walking Dead the ones that live. Thank you.
Hey man... just wanted to say I love the way you recap this storyline. It's very well done. I myself wish the tv version matched the version in the comics just a lil more closely. Especially the storytelling between Rick and Negan and Dwight....and the relationship between Carl and Negan. But you told what we were given very well. Totally subscribing. Keep it up.
Thank you so much man. And I really feel you. Seeing ricks evolution throughout the arc on screen would have been legendary. But I think angels kang did well with the shitty hand she was dealt
Fantastic video. You guys I truly truly think that you guys covered a whole lot of what the CRM was about and what's trying to tell storywise throughout all the shows that they were a part of. I'm sad that the CRM Story is over. I still wish there was more that we could have learned but at the same time, though i'm glad we got what we got.
25 mins in and i got to say nice video man, you put some serious work in this and the memes help break the seriousness of video. Well done you got subbed
Dude honestly this is one of the best TWD recaps i’ve seen and you are so funny with your edits, i rlly think you have a lot of potential for this, u should think about doing recaps and essays about other series and movies too Btw you have a new sub :) ❤
New subscriber here. Great video. I was so into TWD until they killed Carl. I stopped watching after thst but jept up with my comic recaps sp i know who the whispers are but this summed it up perfectly for me. Keep up the great work
39:22 are we just gonna ignore that Beta took two big ass knives directly into his brain, and managed to rip them bitches out before being devoured by the horde? How the fuck was he still alive? Those are 8 inch blades at least.
I stopped watching the show after Glenn died, because I just couldnt handle all the favorites getting offed every other episode lol. So I really appreciate videos like this!
My best guess is that if rick was there, he would probably rest less until he solves and outsmart the whisperers. That's it. i can't assume any further.
Great video! I stopped watching the show when Rick left but started having an interest in watching again when I heard Daryl’s show was really good. I really don’t want to watch this arc so your video came at the perfect time
Can someone explain the weird sexual tension between Dante and Sidiq? it felt like Dante was trying to get inside of Siddiq's sick in more ways than one.
I kept watching The Walking Dead all the way to the end of the show back in November 2022, and I'm still watching with Daryl Dixon, and next month Rick & Michonne.
Seems like, true to a lot of the later Walking Dead story arcs, a significant percentage of major plot threads are anchored to moments of stupidity and tactical ignorance. Which was a plausible trope in the early days of the Walking Dead's apocalypse... but by the point of these later seasons, becomes a rather tedious contrivance. I can't help but notice, for example, that the survivors haven't figured out some of the oldest and most basic defences that proved effective against well-equipped enemies, let alone brainless zombies.
I feel like once they got finished with the savior war they would be established enough to be okay. The whisperers would never have been an thing and we would ha e gone straight to the commonwealth (in theory none of the settlements would have been destroyed) and then history would repeat itself. The commonwealth would win and take over
as long as one whisperer is left standing, you can bet they'll begin regaining numbers and you can bet one will have the power to control the largest horde in the world
only about 20 minutes into this (have to go to work) but already this arc sounds awesome and crazy. Not sure why people don't seem to like this arc or the whisperers (im not huge into TWD fandom, but the ocasional time i watch lore videos or something, youtubers seem to show disdain or a joking look at the whisperers ,so I only assume that's just common and assumed they were just a dumb side arc or something) but this seems amazing and awesome. the cat and mouse between the two groups, as both sides use their own tactics against eachother and hiding and attacking, it all seems very awesome.
Look they could just dig pits 7 feet deep. Nukes are not massive bombs they are small effective things so her herd is 100k walkers, so you dig a pit 30 feet from the wall and you use the displaced dirt for walls around the pils to funnel the walkers in. Walkers move pretty slow roughly 2mph you will lose about 20% on the way meaning 80k. The pits will fill up after about 50% of the herd is lost then getting 30 feet at 2mph being attacked takes awhile. After that you push in, so its a threat but not the worst
