There were so many amazing singer groups, it is unfortunate that such talent got lost in the rush. These guys are just as good as the Temptations, Commodores, Spinners...etc.
I listen every week or so and they still sound this good now ...maybe the steps have slowed down but OMG they are in their eighties...I still love them ..❤❤❤
My son was born in 97 also. He only knows great music and his mothers fav all-time group is the mighty Whispers! I’ve seen them in concert over 30X and met them in the year 1999! Song🕊🎶

I used to hear them practicing. I regret that I did not get their autograph or a picture with them. You are very blessed to received a picture with them😊😅🎉🎉❤ treasure that into ♾️ infinity!
They didn't get lost amongst the other groups they've lasted 50 years I grew up with them and I still listen to them and these youngsters they'll never know what real music be like they got to be blessed a lot of groups have come and gone and yet we still love them but they didn't get the recognition that these rappers are getting nowadays I'm not putting the rappers down we had some good music back in the day
I saw them at Symphony Hall probably in the early eighties. They were, are, and always will be great! Their songs are powerful! Thank God for the Mighty Whispers!!!!❤❤❤
This is actually from The Solar Galaxy of Stars Live DVD which I believe was recorded in 1980 at the Concord Theater. Also on the bill were Dynasty, Lakeside and Shalamar.
in 1983, saw them with Lakeside and the O'Jays. Lakeside and Whispers just jammed. But those O'Jays tore the house down-even the ballads!! WOW!!! I was about 19.
I still listen to my Whispers everyday. The best group ever, I grew up with this group and nothing like them. Talented, romantic music geniuses. Wows every type of audience. Never fails to give a top- notch performance. I was just so lucky to see them perform live, I will never forget it, touched my soul and heart RIP for the member that went on but they’re still the best group of that era. Old school greats..

I remember seeing them in Hampton, VA, 1983.. I was in the nosebleed section and got there late but I was there with a girl I liked. We were both in the Navy.
In 1983, they hit their stride for sure. They had lots of hits by then and they sung like it. One of the best concerts I attended (although I didn't get any love afterwards-she had a boyfriend).. Ms. Fanny LOVED THE WHISPERS!!!! That was nevertheless one of the best evenings in my life.
I grew up knowing the whispers living in the same area they did also graduating from the same schools they were too! I call them, (MY BAD, BAD BOYS) cuz no one can sing like they can by how they word their words and what they sing and say in their songs. My very, very favorite artist and still is now and today forever and always My Bad Bad boys forever ❤❤❤❤love them❤❤❤❤❤❤

Let me tell you something !! my mom got hooked up with Bobby Reed thats why i have a younger brother Wesly Reed . Bobby was the first base player for these Cats , Bobby left them in New York after five years of touring around, then Bobby formed his band Stormy Weather, came to Seattle 1979, met my mom single mother and Bobby made my brother Wes, I have every record from theses cats !! back to i need a mother for my children and Bingo , way before this rock steady stuff . when bobby would stay with us in Seattle i would be singing to these cats and Bobby said i soudned just like Scotty i was about 12 or 13.

Okay, next One of the most realistic Songs ever but one of the saddest. Olivia, Lost and Turned Out. I had Girlfriends, and friends who lived that Life walking the streets for Money. Sadly, they felt they had no other way to survive. Good Women who had tough breaks. Let's Pray for these Women. Do you know how many end up Dead. I thank the Whispers for putting awareness out there. These guys had us Groovin and movin and grinding hard to their slow songs. Then making babies and getting Married..also getting cheated on. But, in the end they helped you find comfort.
