@@mariocisneros911It was still awful the first 25. Difference is now is that people use the internet and have stats and information available that exposes how big a pos JR is, and has been.
@@michaelleroy9281 He inherited a lot of that. Tony LaRussa and his HOF staff that consisted of Dave Duncan, Jim Leyland, and Dave Dombroski were here already. Then Jerry let his lazy GM hire (Hawk Harrelson) fire all of them 3 years later and they all go on to have HOF careers with other franchises.
When Jerry hired LaRussa because he was his friend, I knew it was doomed from the start, emotional decisions rarely work out in business settings. No disrespect to LaRussa, he was a relic, the game had passed him by. Hinch should have been the hire, he would have been great for the type of team they had at the time, alot of young talent that needed to be molded the modern way, pushing the right buttons at the right time, etc. Jerry set the White Sox back at least 3 - 4 years with that LaRussa hire
I disagree with the first/last sentence. Yes nobody liked the LaRussa hire but he didn’t set the team back. Pedro set the team back not LaRussa. And Hinch hasn’t performed well since the cheating scandal.
I don’t think there is enough national media on how bad Jerry is. Jerry should forever have to wear this record and MLB should force him to sell the team as he is a black hole and is costing them lots of money and he’s screwed up the third biggest market in the united states
@@JiuJitsuLife-xr8kbI think this because of smaller market or teams not knowing to spend big like the Wsox(not a small market) and the A’s(small market). Because of this, I won’t be surprised if it happens sooner nor later. Also the game evolving and changing as well🤷♀️
Not only tank but operate on the cheap as well. The fact that the White Sox never had a player get a $100 million contract is astounding. The franchise has always been plagued by cheap ownership, dating back to Charles Comisky. Want to know why this franchise has settled for mediocrity as the high bar, there’s your answer. Cheap. Cheap. Cheap.
This analytics point Britt made really showed itself with the White Sox deadline moves. Kopech just needed the right team to tell him how to utilize pitches. He alone was worth what the Dodgers gave them and they gave Fedde and Pham to the Cardinals. Fedde was supposed to be the piece that brought back value too.
The other day we had Nick Nastrini going against the O's ( I think ). They all just laid off the breaking pitches and walked or waited for him to groove one. They had a plan. We on the other hand look completely clueless
@@muthergoose4084 i can't. I love baseball. I played it near 20 yrs and the White Sox are , will always be my favorite team... It wont do anything having that record, but another shame like the 1919 scandle
Another frank McCourt. Sell the team. I'm from los Angeles and a Dodgers fan. I respect the white sox. New management. Bring them back to be competitive. What shame.
Jerry Reinsdorf is so freaking bad for baseball its insane. Theres a reason all these former alum from Aj, Konerko, Buerhle, Mj, Pippen, etc want nothing to do with Reinsdorf. He's a giant loser
Jerry lives so far in the past it’s unbelievable. Remember he won’t let any player wear #6 because of the great two years batting coach Charley Lau had as hitting coach. 🤦♂️
There are a bunch of issues , but the #1 problem is Reinsdorf. Outside of Grady Sizemore they have no one calling the shot who have played the game. I think that almost daily roster changes is doing more harm than good. In most cases , teams like the Yankees can do a rebuild & be competitive the next year. Also too many chiefs & not enough Indians. With the right people the Sox could be better soon. Sell the team Jerry, now.
Reinsdorf is definitely more a baseball guy than a basketball guy. his Chicago Bulls were only great when he trusted Jerry Krause to run the Bulls. Before Krause and after Krause the Bulls are largely irrelevant with the exception of 1 season with a pre-injury Derrick Rose. Reinsdorf's hands are all over the White Sox. He is to blame for all the ineptitude and he's still coasting on 6 NBA titles 25+ years ago and a World Series title that happened almost 20 years ago.
They should have cleaned house, but the house is full of incompetent Jerry's friends. The only good thing that comes out of this is that the other four teams in the AL Central are laughing.
It may be worth Getz reaching out to a Jon Daniels/Chaim Bloom. Analytically minded guys who have failed and have tons of knowledge to share and at the very least build the blueprint for the analytics dept. they could also serve as ambassadors for other potential front office people.
Yeah I hope Jerry realizes he fucked up interviewing zero outside candidates. I want him at minimum hire an outside vice president and or president of baseball operations.
Sox have the best minor league pitching prospect pool in baseball. So the future isn't THAT bleak. Provided they get a good manager and coaching staff. Also, the Sox had a top 10 payroll for many years before this one. They just don't overpay players.
@@alexpotanos6752the issue is development of a hitter not a pitcher. The Sox know how to develop a pitcher. Chris Sale, Crochet, Buehrle, possibly Rodon and others.
Why does Chicago need 2 teams? The city now ranks 4th in population, now Toronto is 3rd. If the city power elite make deals to build the Sox and Bears new stadiums ill be sick
Because the Sox have been around for over a hundred years and there’s still a lot of fans, not to mention a huge market in Chicago. The only reason people don’t realize the Sox have a good fanbase is because the cubs might have the second largest in baseball.
All due respect for how bad the White Sox ownership is, however as long as fisher owns the Oakland A's he will be MLB's biggest mess. Should the White Sox move from Chicago then they can enter the discussion.
@@scottyg3406I disagree on the last sentence. The A’s do this rebuild/rinse/repeat every 4-5 years though🤷♀️. John Fisher is just as bad if not worse than JR.
The As have made the playoffs 7 times in my lifetime, the White Sox have only made it 3 times and have never won a playoff series. Oakland has been a much better team over the past 18 years than the White Sox, and the Sox are averaging 15 thousand more people a game as the worst team of all time. In 2021 the As we’re coming off a playoff season and for much of the year battling for a wild card spot, but they still had the worst attendance in baseball. Not defending John fisher, I think he’s a horrible owner but the fans have been much more supportive of the Sox than the As despite the Sox being much much worse
You'd have to be insane to think analytics only brings good. Analytics has a superiority complex yet constantly changes. Less than five years ago it was throw your four seamer high and throw low curveballs. Now it's don't throw curveballs because they're too slow. Throw a slider, or ugh "sweeper". Some statistics say velocity matters more, others say movement does. You still can't quantify deception and making guys throw as hard as they can has made arm injuries for pitchers skyrocket.
