Your voice is very soothing like the warm sands of this ones homeland and the occasional moon sugar pie but this one isn’t counting that lol

I started using this house after having seen it on your channel before. So thank you for the introduction. It is very vanilla but full-featured for vanilla. The moment you saId you used Lidia as a housecarl, I started looking for Inigo. He makes fun of her relentlessly! I have to admit that it amuses the hell out of me.

If I could cope with Lydia I'd have them both just for that interaction:)

lounging Lyda did something! The swing out display is mighty cool, but will agree it is a bit dark for such a welcoming home. I have to admit I am bit of a plant murderer. I don't mean too, I truly don't. I talk to them, give them love and many plants still leave me. Maybe I smother them due to abandonment issues. I could sulk and ask for forgiveness on the fab back deck after committing planticide in the wonderful greenhouse.

There should be a Goddess of minor failure to pray to for things like letting house plants or garden plants die and for other similar things. Most definitely there should and might be such a Goddess. I think that when we are a bit lonely we can become a little negligent to self care and taking care of our minor duties. I myself would need to pray to the Goddess of minor failure daily to keep my minor failure karma level from getting so high that it adds up to a major failure in that particular karma department. haha 😂 I wouldn’t worry too much though, that particular Goddess is probably watching over us both, don’t you think?

The outside is stunning as is the greenhouse but the inside needs a bit of decor thankfully now there are many great decor mods that you can use to make this your very own especially the painting Placer mod

You’re right this place is dark. It could definitely use some windows. Otherwise it’s a nice hearthfire upgrade.

hmmm everything outside the house seems really nice. The inside seems like it could use an upgrade to layout and decoration for me personally.

This one must inform you that from the air ship, this house mod is taking a step back. It is taking a step back down on warm sands, or per as one would say in Skyrim, Cold Sands....

Yes, I can appreciate that the mod creator was going for a Hearthfire theme, I guess that from my perspective I feel like I don't really want that style of decoration now in 2020 - I love that you can have EVERYthing though in one house.

Love the blue roofs! It made me happy to see them make an appearance. Sorry they flicker! I have the saturated version installed, and Dragonsreach looks a little Neuschwanstein-ish, lol. I like the house, especially the greenhouse and black book display. However, I'm never giving Alvis Hulgard Manor up again, hehe. I missed the basement too much (although the rest of it is nice too) =P. The exteriors of the two are very similar. In this house, I'd use that magic "Lock everything in place," and the "Do it," buttons before I even looked at anything, lol. I'm completely with you on static decorations. Inigo and Lydia are great, lol. I also really enjoy Lucien and Inigo together. They're bros, but Auri and Inigo are even better. They have a discussion about racism, and Auri teases him about wanting to scratch him behind the ears to see if Khajit purr. They get slightly repetitive, but I don't even care =P. Then, Auri teases Lucien too... and that's enough rambling from me, haha.

Omg no wonder you have such a troop of followers lol, it must keep you amused all day! And I know what you mean about Neuschwanstein - it is only a bit of flicker at a distance, up close the roofs look amazing, my Whiterun is GORGEOUS right now lol:)

I really liked this house, I installed it when it came out. I love the vanilla style, for a role-play run it's just perfect: it has everything, and all is lore-friendly and immersive! Plus, it's right outside Whiterun, which is already a big feature for me. There are some things that I would change tho: there are light fixes, but the interiors are still too dark; I would have liked more green outside and inside; plus, you can hire a guard and a bard, which is cool already, but I would have added even some farmers to tend to your farm, so that it looks like a real noble estate. Oh, and I would have liked to have a wall around my property and a better entrance, more fit for a thane. I suggested all these things to the mod author, but unfortunatly seems that he/she won't change these things. That's a shame, because I liked the layout of this mod a lot. Oh well. Feb, may I suggest you to look at TNF's vanilla houses? They are all really gorgeous and again lore-friendly and cozy!
@FebrithDarkstar
@FebrithDarkstar 4 года назад
Always happy to take suggestions! I did one or two of the TNF houses in my Better Vanilla Houses playlist but there are others I haven't tried yet. Also, I absolutely agree with you on all those things you mentioned about Whitefall. I can't blame the mod author in one sense because they've made a thing that they want in a certain way and what you and I see as improvements, they might feel "whaaaat? hell no" lol. One thing they got absolutely right for me was that greenhouse (though if I was making it I'd have had ivy and flowers and glowy balls in there because I couldn't help myself!).

@@FebrithDarkstar for sure, the green house is perfect! And yes, I can't blame the author too, I always try to give suggestions to mod authors but WHITHOUT any demand. I try to be very polite and respectful of their work. Especially for places like this - which I'd love to see at their full potential - I can't help but to try to make them reconsider certain choices. Of course, their works are already a blessing!

I think that the place in the video is not luxurious in that it does not have gorgeous artistic still life inspiring clutter and the gardens are not superb etc. and though the architecture is better than most suburbs in real life cities, it is not completely uniquely wondrous like some of the dwellings Febrith Darkstar has showcased. I am not sure but the minimalist movement (which is about not having much stuff of the material world) can, from one abstract angle, be about filling our metaphorical “bare walls” with luxurious actual interpersonal personality and non-judgemental love of what is more humble as well as filling the places of minimalist aesthetic with wise dialogue and also not over stimulating the mind through visual splendour in order that the mind may stimulate itself in meditative contemplation of life’s lessons to learn and share. Minimalism is also important before we have 95% recycling of packaging and waste, of course that is because our Earth can not sustain many more years of constant locust like consumerism by billions of Humans. I do love that we can hire a bard here though, and I think makers of mods or other games could take that idea even further and allow the player to hire jesters and illusionists telling stories with illusions and cooks that might share recipes and preparation secrets as well as creative gardeners, writers to write the players adventures down in a biographical book, painters to paint the portrait of the player and the players in game family and all sorts of other servants and workers. The real world has one hundred thousand types of employment at least, and the real world is the best palette for fiction.

Almost could be an artists commune couldn’t it. Sweet, not overly complicated and one would think that if the writing of dialogue and in game character interaction between in game characters was advanced enough that perhaps the small village lifestyle playing out in game would be a major selling point. How magical would it be to observe or interact with the playing out of high drama and morality play amongst the commune members in this place or another. Of course computer game dialogue still isn’t very advanced, and though some games are much better than others there has not really been a computer game that I can think of that has the quality of writing of George Orwell, Harper Lee, Chaim Potok, John Steinbeck, Jane Austen, The Bronte Sisters, William Shakespeare, William Gibson, or even the master of High Fantasy J.R.R. Tolkien. Join me in a toast to that time coming, when the masters of prose and poetry write for computer games. 🍀🤪🍾🥳🎉🎆😆🌏

Do you have any recommendations for player homes with lots of dynamic bookshelves like this one? I'm a book hoarder so I like to put my books on shelves to display but it can be difficult to find player homes that have lots of the dynamic ones. I'm using a Hearthfire house at the moment which has a decent amount but I honestly might need more space for books with the mods that I use. I might try this one but it does look a little dark. Thank you for any help!

Wow there are a lot to choose from with great libraries and I guess it depends upon what else you're looking for. Texarium has a bunch of bookcases as does Home Sweet Valley (gigantic - more than one library), Clockwork Castle and Dragonfall Castle - those are the ones that immediately spring to mind - good luck!:)

I know I've commented on this video before but I comment now with a question is this compatible with tundra farm? I love having that one because it has npcs who I act like are my uncle and aunt and I love planting up apple trees and don't want to get rid of it but I want another property that has a farm or green house like this one... whiterun and Skyrim in general need more farms and greenhouses in my opinion 🥴...so if anyone knows if this mod compatible or if there are any more homestead/farm/garden mods I'd appreciate it 🤗 Edit: no it's not compatible I was just going to delete this comment but I bet someone else was wondering also so I'll just leave it 🤗

Really I think the only people in the world that are truely free are artists. And communes of artists that are very well mannered socially and not caught up in silly human monkey status games are the freest of all. That is one reason I mentioned in my earlier comment on this video that this place Whitefall Manor would make a great artist commune. There is still such a hierarchy in modern society that we basically still have a huge divide between what amounts to peasants and nobility, what with the majority of people being wage slaves and a fraction of people being rich business people. I must admit that there are a larger fraction of rich people in contemporary times but I do fear that was a strategy by the “established money“ and “well bred” families to steal the best minds from the working class in order to better treat the working class like farm animals. With all the propaganda against unions and the workers movement things are starting to return to feudalism, but it is a capitalist feudalism instead of a kingdom and “divine right to rule” based feudalism. Does anyone wish to comment?

I don't know about this place as a base for a community of artists, if I were to create such a setting I'd be leaning more to somewhere like The Haven from the Cold & Dark - and have my artisans in their little cottages, in that beautiful place. I can easily imagine them painting or sculpting for example in their front gardens and swapping inspirations and ideas - and she's off in a little world of her own again lol!

@@FebrithDarkstar haha fairytale is the best place to find magical things for us to make real life to be wonderful isn’t it? As long as we can remain realistic about the dangers of real life we can at least make it pleasant and magical for those we love I think. Not that things have been pleasant for me, but I all of a sudden got a health problem 20 years ago that has not gone away and apart from that things are magical at times. You know what would be absolutely magical in a big budget game like The Elder Scrolls games, if they could actually spend enough time making the little periphery gems as magical as in the real world. Periphery gems like if for instance there actually was an artists commune in the game then you could have the sculptors and other artists actually doing the sculpting and other art and you could sit for a few minutes in game and watch the sculptures taking form under the masterful hands of the artists. Attention to detail is possible if the game artists take their observations from real world footage. Why they too rarely do that I do not know. Far too often I see in game trailers for crafting or farming having just a few rudimentary animations and there is no way of the player getting a hint about how the skill would be performed in real life because the animation skips so much. What use is that? Of course for the impatient players it may be useful to be able to have the option to skip detailed and accurate animations if the player wants too, but to have the option to watch them would be glorious in my opinion and I think more useful to real life too instead of simple point and click What do you think?
