Keith Moon, the world's biggest clown and best drummer in one. It is so obvious he not only loved being a drummer, but a drummer for this band, and he truly loved his band mates. Such a tragic loss. This is probably my favorite Who video!😊

I was 6 when I saw Top of the Pops and Keith bashing the hell out of his drum kit on "I Can See For Miles" No other drummer was like that-they just gently tapped the skins and cymbals a bit-but Keith Moon?!!? I'd bash the hell out of anything I could improvise as a drum kit-drove the parents mad !! And in later years I realised how extraordinary and ground breakingly excellent Keith Moon's drumming was on that track to name but one and how there is no comparison to it anywhere

It's only now -- and I've seen this video for years and even "The Kids are Alright" in the theater -- that I'm realizing that they filmed a performance specifically for this video. This wasn't them mimicking the words to the song, they performed this. So we got to see an actual performance of a Who song as if we're in the studio that day. And they did this back in 1978, before MTV really got going. What a wonderful gift, an original performance that will last nearly forever.

From what I’ve seen of other stuff around this time, he had lost it a bit. This particular performance is an exception, as it was probably a bit easier to manage him in a studio setting, but he definitely wasn’t the powerhouse he was in the late 60’s-early 70’s. To me he is the best and most unique drummer ever to pick up sticks, but the drugs and perhaps everyone telling him how great he was had started to diminish him as a player by this point.

Hands down my favorite version!! Love the rawness of it. All those guys are just dripping coolness in this video. RIP ALWAYS JOHN AND KEITH!!

This will always be Keith's song in my opinion. His farewell. This was The Who at their absolute zenith and that's a bold statement considering their gargantuan legacy

His farewell was also the farewell of The Who at their incomparable best. Aside from the odd song like Eminence Front, they never wowed me; although saying that, Zac Starkey is the best substitute for ol' Moonie. 1970-74 they were fucking unreal on stage

@@KTBFFH Entwistle said the best tour they ever did was 1976 and unfortunately none of those were filmed, though there are audio bootlegs.

@@capri2673 I don't think Keith was as good at that stage. The abuse he inflicted on himself started to creep up on him by that point in my opinion

The singer singing his heart out, the guitarist having fun, the drummer at war with his kit, and the bass player going through the boring motions so he can go back to the reality of his home and his stash of blow. Love The Who. 😎
