i know im a decade late but, but with the degree of fractures to his leg, im sure his adrenaline and the nerves in his legs are completely jacked up and probably stopping him from feeling anything,
The original was so much better when he comes over the hill and sees the wicker man first time the fear on his face the scottish accent aswell oh jesus christ ! Brilliant

fun fact: if you cool them down enough, they act as though they are dead because their heart rates have slowed down so much, so when they're colder, they can actually be poured like a liquid lmao
Lol this ending sequence just shows why this movie is so ass. Instead of feeling sorry for the character I just laugh. It is unintentionally hilarious!
Jigsaw i know. It is cage though he is so great but he is a funny guy too without even meaning to be. Really Nicholas cage is great but was a bad choice for this character as he is so funny even when he gets locked underground it is funny because it is Nicholas cage :)
Eh, bashing religion seems to be the popular thing these days, regardless if it's warranted or not. And yeah, Cage actually IS a good actor, it's just that when He goes 300 percent over the top with His acting, like He did here, that He becomes memorable for the ages. May He keep giving too much of His all for eternity.
Juan David Mejia Mena Not really, people need things to believe in or purpose, be it through: Religion, family, love, government, country, Feminism, the flying spaghetti monster or just themselves. People have done horrible things in the name of all of them too, should we blame the people respectively or any one of those things. Then again I do see your point, certain religions know how to attract the more vocal and stupid. And it certainly doesn`t help when said certain religions has texts that can be interpreted to question or flatout hate other people. Most people love to hate afterall, that is something I unfortunately discovered for Myself the hard way.
This film is an embarrassment to the original made in 1973. And the writer/director producers has real issues that corrupted the original message and turned it into an unrealistic feminist rather than a true pagan dystopia.
stickygumshoes IMO he's the reason why this movie was... watchable. But regardless, sorry for your punishment for liking the original and expecting an updated/reimagining/decent remake of a 70s classic.
Just saw this movie again, this time on Showtime. Interestingly enough, the parts where the breaking of his legs, and the bees are shown were edited out completely.
Same in Amazon prime. Just watched ytday. U only hear Cage's voice crying in pain for his knees while the cam shows the villagers parade reaching the wooden Wicker man. I didn't even know about this bees scene until I checked youtube after watching the film haha. Well deleted. The scene is awful
Ideal ending... Rambo comes to Nicholas Cage's characters rescue with a full loaded mini gun... and turns all the crazy villagers, men/women/children into exploding red mush.
Even more ideal: kill Nicholas Cage as well, then we can flog it as a sequel in the Rambo franchise and the original wicker mans reputation will be restored
my college work specified ' You should: - Include a RU-vid link to YOUR clip at the start of your work. - present this as a powerpoint presentation with screen shots of the part of the sequence that you are analysing Remember to discuss: - the genre of the film and how the micro features contribute to emphasising that genre e.g. if it is a comedy, how does the sound contribute to making the scene funny and the audience laugh?
If you watch this as if they are sacrificing Cage to mighty Dionysus, to appease his just wrath against this insulting remake, it all suddenly feels far better!
I just don't understand. There are many parts in the film that could had used a second take. But then they cut out one the scenes that are actually realy strong. It's a movie with lots of potential, but the finish realy lets it down.
+FrightfulAccountant i just noticed that recently when the film aired on cinemax as they cut out the breaking the legs segment and "not the bees" moment of the film. that ruined it for me. they also did the same on a few scenes in "tropic thunder" which pissed me off. what the fuck?
I watched it for the first time today and it was missing from that version but I knew there was supposed to be a scene with the bees/mask from clips I’ve seen previously. The sound of his hobbling was there and him screaming about his legs but the actual scene wasn’t shown.
You see kids, this is why adding music is so important....doing a scene like this with no music and boring camera angles, just looks like a rehearsal. Shitty director + shitty actor = shitty movie.
Hang on, wasn't the original premise that Edward Woodward arrived of his own free will and was a virgin? Cage had a kid in this didn't he? I refuse to watch it as the original will never, and I repeat never, be surpassed. The look on his face as he sees the Wicker Man for the first time, harrowing.
did you ever hear the tragedy of darth plagueis the wise I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.
People are bashing religion here because they refuse to see what really happened in this video! Our lord and savior was stung for your sins! Don't you see! So please let Lord Cage into your heart, so that you will not share his fate.
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat, little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway, because bees don’t care what humans think is impossible.
1973: Mighty God of the Sun, accept our sacrifice and make our blossoms grow. 2006: O' Gods and Goddesses of nature, receive this sacrifice and be appeased.
just recently rewatched this on amazon prime and this scene wasn’t in it for some reason?? it had the audio of the legs being broken but the bees were just completely absent so idk what’s going on there
So there IS a version without it? Because I swear I watched this knowing about this scene and I was convinced it never happened when I watched it. They just went straight from grabbing him to hoisting him up the wicker man.
well I just finished watching this movie on HBO, mind you its 7am so my brain is fired up. now this is not my first time watching but it's my first time noticing the reference to the 'Universal Law' that says one must come on their own free will. although he was lured there for sacrifice he did come willingly. this plan was also set forth years ago I guess in case they ever needed a sacrifice. oh great now HBO is playing 'Saving My Tomorrow' which is about Earth and Nature conservation. I don't wanna be a conspiracy theorist and connect the two but we must understand that our existence is something special. a thousand times more special and connected with Earth and the vast universe, more than we could ever know. For instance the significance of the bees and the Earth. they pollinate flowers and plants which is vital to all things living existence. bees can detect royalty, that's why they serve the Queen Bee. but in the movie he was allergic to bees. hmmm idk why. maybe because he wasn't connected spiritually to the Earth, but he was destined to be a god. In the movie they told him his sacrifice was going to make him a God but he didn't want that because like he said he didn't believe in 'their God' but it was too late because he gave up his universal rights by coming there on his free will. how powerful is religion and life that it would allow you to 'sacrifice' (murder) humans for the greater good of mankind ie food oil water etc. Back to the bees. remember in Jupiter Ascending she was a reincarnated Queen of her own planet. the bees swarmed her but didnt sting nor was she allergic. she was reincarnated and already spiritually connected with the universe and her name was Jupiter. the gray aliens tried to take her against her freewill violating universal laws. that's when Channing Tatum who was a 'cloned' half man half wolf with wings rescued her. don't forget the vampire reference, human harvest and the harvest in wicker man Put these movies together, actually if you put a lot of movies together, you will get a bigger picture(get it.....no ok never mind lol)and realize that this whole 'life' thing is wayyyy more complex than it seems !!!! Any who, going back to sleep goodmorning!!!
is this a deleted scene or something. I just watched this movie and everything from :15 to 2:40 was cut out. This is really interesting though I just wish I had seen it. The version I watched: He pulls the trigger- bitch dumps the bullets on the ground- they gang up---then the next shot is them marching him up to the wickerman. I guess they cut out breaking his legs and putting bees in his face
Yah I had seen this scene before seeing the movie. But I just saw the movie for the first time couple days ago but this scene was cut off. The "my legs" yell was there, when they were carrying him. But they didn't show it or the bees at all.
I guess for me, the reason is that is because it makes no sense according to the plot of the movie. Why use the very precious bees you claim you do not have enough of to sacrifice him?? especially when they they could have just hammered in the knee an put him in the wickerman while skipping the whole bee part?
I honestly feel like they might have deleted it because it is the only truly violent scene in the movie. Yes they burn him to death but they never beat him or torture him unless they have this scene. It might be just my opinion but I think that's probably what it is
Felix Lighter I downloaded exactly that version as well of TPB. But the sound for all the legbreaking and shit was heard in the background. It was so damn weird.
