The Wild Horses of the Outer Banks can be found at the end of highway 12 outside of Corolla North Carolina. The Horses are not really wild but are
semi - feral breed know as Banker Horses. They are protected and roam the beaches and sand dune neighborhoods of Corolla. Hey Y'all welcome to my channel. Join me as I travel the Highways and Bi ways is search of Adventure where we will explore Roadside Attractions, Abandon Places, Museums, The Weird and Strange and maybe even a food review or two. We go to Corolla for at least a week every year. And every year even though we drive down highway 12 and get the permit to park on the beach I still take the wild horse tours. This is my happy place.

Great video, I've always wanted to see the outer banks. How far away is a food source?

Every where. There are fresh water springs. They eat acorns, grapes sea oats and grass behind the dunes. Their bodies have evolved over the years anything else such as horse feed, apples and watermelon would kill them. It's a $500 fine and jail to try to feed them.

Thank you for this video! Hubby & I were there and went on a wild horse tour a few years ago. I remember the house that the ocean will eventually take. You were lucky to see the horses out at the shore. We didn't get to see them there. They were mostly in peoples yards eating the grass. Been wanting to go back. Take care. (China Grove, NC)

When I lived in Maryland there was a place I used to go to that had wild horses too! They were nice to look at but you could not get too close to them since you did not know how they would react.

You can drive on the beach. You definitely need a 4x4. Make sure you know the rules about the horses

I LOVE ❤❤❤ horses 🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎, and I LOVE ❤️ ❤❤ the beach🩴 ⛱️ 🩴always have, always will! What do these horses 🐎 eat and drink?? Where do they go to get out of the bad weather, like Hurricanes 🌀? Wouldn't it be better for the horses if they went to a Sanctuary where they could eat the proper grass and drink the proper water? Just receive the proper care in general?

I think I explained all that in the video. They have lived in that area for over 300 years. Food that most horses eat will kill them. That diet consists of acorns, grapes, sea oats, and grass. There are springs for them to drink.
