The Wild Robot Movie Review - I just finished watching The Wild Robot and wow was it an experience! The Wild Robot is a family film that is wonderful to look at and has a great message for kids and adults!
@@beingreelwitholyvia your welcome! I may start doing movie and tv show reactions and reviews sooner like next year when I get my RU-vid equipment like studio lights and a new desk or something. What did you use to film your review.. Any advice?
@@Offcialjacobpacewells wow that would be amazing! I just use my cell phone and turn a couple lamps on in the background… I don’t exactly have the most professional set up but it works for now 😅
@@beingreelwitholyvia ok cool! Keep up the great work Oliva! Your dad and all of his friends like 3c films, Austin Burkes, Cody leach and John Flickinger are such big idols of mine! Love what ya’ll do!
Sent from Adam! Awesome video Olyvia! Thanks for this review, might have to give this movie a view! 🎞️🍿 And omg Ryan Gosling I'm screaming! 😂 Keep up the great work! 👏🏾
You are so cool Olyvia! It takes so much courage to get in front of the camera and you did a fantastic job-and so well spoken as always! I'm really looking forward to seeing you grow alongside this channel 🤍
I will start by staying i dont know ANYTHING about making review videos but i did want to give my pros and cons of things ive learned from your dads videos over the years: Pros: -fantastic sound quality. This is an immediate make-or-break. If i can barely understand because the mic is bad or the vocals arent clear, i leave. -the breakdown/video script is well put together. I feel like ill know what im getting into if i decide to watch this movie. I like that its broken into 3 categories and they were covered well. -your delivery. Sounds confident like a good public speaker. Makes for way better videos. Cons: -personal flare!!! These are my favorite parts of your dads videos and the only con i could think of. Your would slip his opinion in on whatever he is talking about and THAT is what brings me back. Him, jeremy, the other big reviewers all could deliver a similar breakdown but their personalities/opinions about the material is what separates them from others. I love your dads added tidbits about what he thinks. You have a few in here but the character section part 1 id be curious of your opinion on the characters as you explain them. Just my 2 cents. I think this channel will do well, subbed. Looking forward to the next one!
@@jamesdean3495 Wow! Thank you so much for the advice!! I completely agree with you, I was a little shy and nervous recording this video so for my Future videos I will definitely be more confident and add in more of my opinions and personality! I really appreciate you and the support 💪
The Wild Robot Pros: Crisp animation, straightforward story line with a touch of a twist in both the 2nd and 3rd acts, each of the three acts were better than the last (that doesn't alway happen), just semi endearing characters, decent soundtrack, a couple of emotionally moving moments and yes I teared up once or twice. Cons: The characters won't be remembered for awhile or they were only semi endearing. In other words, a Shrek or Donkey type character that kids or adults will recall forever they were not and that is important. No matter how much you try to turn a robot into the wild robot at the end of the day still a robot and cannot be same exactly as ogre with a heart of gold or Puss-In-Boots learning to value life in Puss-In-Boots: The Last Wish. Remember this is a DreamWorks production, thus the comparison. The villian was a little shoehorned in at the end but that was okay. Not truly a moment in there where this hit 'next level' (i.e., Let It Go from Frozen or Shrek falls in love from Shrek). I somehow feel like I have seen the story before. In sum, this was surely a good movie, but I did not see it as a great movie. Better than average animated movie for certain. I am glad that I saw it. I do not think it deserves 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, but that is judged on a thumbs up or thumbs down. For me, I will give it a good push to a soft 3.5 out of 5, and that is in fact a positive or good review, from a hard nosed critic.
@@DominickSpano for me it was just about the nostalgia since I read the book when I was a little kid, but I definitely agree with you sadly it won’t be as popular or known as shrek and some of those other classic films
Congratulations on doing this. I have a 4yo who loves movies and I can't wait to help him do to RU-vid reviews, he has told me he wants to be a youtuber lol
You did SO good! Great review. I also review films on my RU-vid channel. And though you are already a pro it seems like, there is always more room for more practice. Keep trying different things, take feedback from people, but most importantly, stay true to yourself and do and talk about what YOU think is best and what your true thoughts are on the film. As your dad probably let you know also, people will ALWAYS disagree with you. But this is your show, and your Bow to take. Take advantage of it and have fun!
@@beingreelwitholyvia it’s definitely a learning curve. You might not ever be able to always get it right on the first Take. Or at least segments of the review right the first time around, I sure can’t lol. I don’t know if you wanna hear too much about MY film critic stuff. But I will say this, I started in 2020 right as Covid started to cure..ya know..boredom XD and I found as I watched more films, it became more than a silly hobby for some movies for me. I get to discuss movies sometimes that can deeply resonate with people, thus it’s less about weather you thought it was a good movie or not sometimes, (though you of course need to mention those things) but rather how It deeply affected you, or how you think it could affect and teach other people. I don’t know if film is 100% the career direction you actually want to head towards or it’s theater, art, being a doctor or nurse or whoever else. But everything you know other than film you should try to incorporate those parts of your personality if you can in your reviews of that makes sense. But what do I know? I’m just a small RU-vidr like you who has only been doing it for a few years lol. I am just a nerd when talking about this stuff! 🤓
@@JamesTalksMovies I love that you’re so passionate about reviewing movies! It’s super inspiring, you’re doing great as well! The more videos I post the more comfortable I get, so I definitely will be getting more confident and adding my personality in the more I film :3
Wait Lyv, no snarky comments, foley sounds or singing. How refreshing. 😁Are you sure about Adam being your Dad? 😉 Wait, ok, there was the Gosling joke. I see it now. 😍Don´t listen to Dad´s tips, he doesn´t know how YT works himself. 😜
