As a magician I HATE the Houdini part of the tour. Magicians don't just vanish like that and he wouldn't leave his trunk of stuff because then they would find out the secrets to his tricks.

i’ve lived in san jose all my life, and the Winchester mystery house has always been just a cool place to go on a weekend. i never really saw it as anything special until i researched more into it. it’s so neat that one of the most popular attraction on the disney properties is inspired by something in my own backyard.

I have toured the Winchester House three times, but never around Halloween. THIS is very, very different!

Been there. Interesting house & cool to see but not very scary or mysterious. She was just a rich lonely old lady that needed a hobby.

I’d hate for someone who’s never been to think this is what the house is all about. It’s much more special. This is just a seasonal show set in the house. Sarah Winchester might have had some eccentric beliefs, but she was also a visionary, greatly misunderstood. The house is truly magical & unique.

Hey Offhand, you ever try out the Haunted mansion maps in Gmod and Left 4 dead 2? There are some hidden rooms in them that aren't in the real thing, at least, not that riders know of.

I went to the Winchester house a few years back. It was in the summer so I was a historical tour and not souped up with holiday stuff. I’d have to say aside from the face in the wall it was spookier when it was normal because it all was very serious 😱 it’s definitely worth going to see. The house outside looks so much like Haunted Mansion!

Another RU-vidr I missed who came to see our mansion. I've worked at Winchester Mystery House for about a year and a half now, and all through October I was wearing Haunted Mansion, Sleepy Hollow, and other Disney Halloween pins on my uniform vest. If I had spotted you I could have taken you around the estate and told you ghost stories of personal experiences and stories my coworkers have told me. And you got a great tour guide for you Candlelight Tour, I forget what stage name she used for the Candlelight Tour, but I've known her for awhile now and my mom says she's the best tour guide my mom has ever had at Winchester.

I really want SPN to go there for an episode! But they're too busy with their third or fourth apocalypse to hunt ghosts -.-

went to the Winchester House almost a year ago (wow time flys) and god ... my whole group was on edge like the smallest bump would make us jump ... It was amazing!

I'm pretty let down by the normal Winchester Tour. This version is worse. How they play up the "supernatural" house is disappointing to me.

I've been there and during the tour a girl fell on the floor and it looked as if she was pulled to the stairs. It wasn't obvious, but I could see that there was something wrong with the physics. Sends shivers down my spine until today.

Isn't the guy currently in charge of the Winchester house a former Disney dude? I don't remember names or details, but it seems fitting, somehow. For one, there's the full-circle aspect, and for another, he could know how to make a house seem haunted. Also, I agree: when will Sam and Dean finally head to the house?

I just thought that I would mention that the Halloween flashlight tours are a very different experience from the regular tours throughout the year. Personally, I like the regular tour better, you should definitely try it if you ever have the time.

For those curious, while the house is certainly eccentric and gives off a creepy air, there's actually very little evidence that it was made in order to ward off spirits. Contemporary evidence suggests instead that Sarah Winchester was simply into construction, but as she was a woman of high class she never obtained formal training. This house was her experiment with construction since nobody was gonna say no to the rich as hell widow when she'd hand them a weird looking, but safe blueprint and told them to build it. Things like the endless stairs and the general unfinishedness of certain parts of the house are attributed to the fact that an earthquake made it unsafe to keep building in those areas. So, to keep her workers safe she simply had them stop building there. Other strange areas can likely be attributed to her strange blueprints being misinterpreted or miswritten

My dad took me to this when I was young, and exactly as they tell you NOT to do, I went exploring. Long story short, I saw some great rooms alone and didn’t get hurt or lost. Don’t try it yourself or you might die.

Its on my bucketlist, together with the Warrens museum.

I live close to the winchester house and saw the movie, what i heard was that sarah winchester’s husbend died from his rifles ( they made the winchester rifles) and then everyone who died from those rifles were haunting that house

My family had the chance to visit the Winchester House from our previous trips to San Jose, but we never did.

I am so freaking jealous!! Is it like that year-round or was that all set up just for Halloween? Man. Has ALWAYS! been on my bucket list. Amusement Parks of America (out of print book) by Jeff Ulmer 1980 had an ariel photo of the house. There were tons of other cool "yet now defunct attractions in the book" Can't say I'd want to see it by candle light, but I surely want to do the tour + the Jelly Belly Tour. LOL Thanks for putting together a great series. It's raining of and on where I am, so your video was a welcome gift on my day off.

Very hokey !!! The videography was very challenging to view. I would have enjoyed more a tour during daylight hours to really appreciate the house it came across like a cheap carnival.

After reading some facts I felt somewhat disappointed. I'd still like to see it someday though. The architecture is wild. Plus any old house, especially one that large, would be creepy at night.
