The windmills of your mind / Michel Legrand Keren Hadar - Soprano Ziv Cojocaru - Piano Performed at Beer-Sheva Performing Art center, January 2015 Recording: Avi Elbaz Videography: Shali Boharon, Orit Sade Gross
OMG! This has got to be one of the most covered songs in history! And done in so many different genres, styles, and interpretations! Orchestras, Jose Feliciano, Petula Clark, piano, guitar, maybe I can find a harmonica version! This song was life-changing for me. I always found the lyrics to be outstanding. It sparked something in the windmills of my mind, and was the sole influence that sent me on my way as a poet for the last 52 years. So if we add in the Vanilla Fudge prog rock/psychedelia version, and toss that in with the multitude of renditions that I've listened to, I do believe that this has become my favorite song of all times! - Oh, and I thought this one was great. Not so much the musicians, and I found the piano to be a bit clumsy, but she was spectacular. I would absolutely love to hear this song done by ALL my favorite "Annies" Wilson, Haslam, Lennox, "Anna" Fox-Rochinsky, and sorry to all the formers, but Annie Golden would crush it! If you're not all that familiar with Annie Golden as a singer, have a listen to her rendition of "The World is Stone", and tell me this wouldn't be a perfect fit for her.
