The Wire is a phenomenal show! Glad you're enjoying it :) I would also recommend The Shield, and The Sopranos. If you haven't seen those, try to go into them without looking into them, especially The Shield👍

Nicky was by far the most polarizing character in The Wire. I've watched at least 10 different reactions or podcasts on the show, and ALL African American reactors either dislike Nicky or have no sympathy for him, while everyone else seems to like him or have sympathy for him. No other character breaks down along those lines.

The first rule of holes: When you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging. Stringer is taking those business classes for a simple reason: He wants to apply the ideas to the drug trade. You can see him doing this when he holds his own class for the dealers in the Barksdale organization.

Regardless of the incident with the girls, he was doing business on the side with the Greek. All to help the union and keep their jobs afloat. Good intentions paved the way for a bad turnout. So the cover up makes Frank just as compliant unfortunately. And that trickles down to everyone involved. It’s a slippery slope when you try to take short cuts in life.
