It's really not difficult at all. At least to me, Iris is a spirit she has passed on and she needs to rest in peace. Clinging to the world of the living is a bad thing for spirits to do and she will continue to suffer. Plus too the dog and cat beings should be able to return to where they came from. It really isn't fair that they were ripped from their home and imprisoned in a world that is not their own for so long.

I did not take the rose, mostly because of the dog and cat. They being demons would free them to prey upon the world again, maybe even becoming another Gaunter, Whispering Hillock or the pesta from the Tower of Mice quest. Maybe I read too much into it but I don't regret the choice.

@@Jerbsinator There's no way those dog and cat spirits are inherently evil demons. I mean they could be, but we have zero evidence of that. The only thing we know is that they're just beings from another world. Other worlds are a recurring theme in this game, you visit quite a few with Ciri and all those different worlds they may feature life that is a little different than the one Geralt inhabits. That does not mean they are evil though. That dog and cat only want to be rid of the world they're trapped in I think they couldn't care less about preying upon a world in which they want nothing to do with.

@empty Yeah 100% this makes the most sense. This quest is a little grey but if think about it a little bit, there is one choice that clearly and firmly makes more sense than the other. Even though the Iris in the painted world can feel, the truth is that she is a spirit. Death is not something that is rare. Trillions of people have died before, and trillions will die in future. Death is a part of life. And spirits clinging to the world of the living is inherently abnormal and bad for both the spirits and the living world. Iris needs to let go now and rest in peace, as one should do after death. That much is abundantly clear. Whether it is a void or not, nobody knows but it matters little anyway. No spirit should avoid death's embrace, for whatever it may be. It's not natural. Plus that dog and cat spirits they also should be free to return to their world. They were brought here and basically imprisoned against their will for years and years. That's not fair to them. They may be different life from another world but they are still life (if they're not dead I'm not sure what the nature of life is from whatever world they are from) even still if they are dead spirits they should rest in peace where they come from.

For me. I dont tKe iris rose away from her. The girl spent decades to be alone and now taking it away may seem free her of suffering. But we actually dont know the afterlife is real or not. Maybe her soul still there due to strong emotion and cant let go which block the after life for her. Or maybe oblivion await which even worse. So yeh, fulfilled her wish as she is with her husband now. Eventually she not alone anymore. And those two litle creature will not get what they want :))

I think the cat and dog is o’dimm’s shadow, as the one in the gwent card. They probably just another servant of o’dimm that’s being used by him. If i were to choose, i will side with the cat and dog

I killed both the Borsodis. They seem like pretty terrible people, and I like fighting, so it made sense to me.

To take, you fulfill what olgierd actually meant and you let the dog cat and iris live free, it's better if not iris will just be the same and the dog and cat at her side doing nothing

Don't take it. If you take it, then you'll genuinely fulfill Olgierd's request and free Iris. If you don't take it, you'll frustrate Olgierd and keep Iris contained.

Take it. If you don't Iris will stay trapped in that world and suffer. Taking the rose ends her suffering.
