When Yennefer hugs Ciri, what you see is her motherly side show. To her Ciri /is/ her daughter, she helped to raise her. Look at everything she did during the game. She's a mother willing to do anything for her child by blood or not. So anyone who thinks Yen's cold hearted, has not realized her true devotion to her family, they've not seen the face of a real mother. Yennefer loves her daughter Cirilla.

I've never seen Yennefer so happy... Wow. She truly cares for Ciri. What a blessed and accursed woman Ciri is... To be loved by all, but hunted by the worst.

Something about the way Yennefer yelled "Ciri" was adorable. She practically squealed.

Yennefer cry of happiness when she sees Ciri. Done so right, shows her "motherly" emotions to Ciri.

The way Yen reacts to Ciri is all the proof you need that Yen is the one for Geralt and not Triss.

So many people debate on who Geralt should choose to romance, but for me personally, I think it is totally Yennefer. Even if you haven't read the books and only played the games, if you just look at the way Ciri reacts to reuniting with Triss and Yen, I think it is clearly obvious who Ciri prefers...and what Ciri thinks oddly determined most of my gameplay. I found Yen's and Ciri's reuniting so affectionate. Just the way Yen gets all enthusiastic and runs like a goober to Ciri and just sweeps her into her arms. And compliments her beauty and such..it's adorable. It's so motherly and it really showed a whole other side to Yennefer that you don't really see in the game. On the other hand, I found Triss's and Ciri's so uncomfortable and awkward. Not very enthusiastic, almost like it was a chore to say hello. And then she calls her 'little sis'...that is what made it weird for me. I really got attached to Ciri throughout the gameplay, and I definitely felt that fatherly vibe. As a result I just found it so weird how the chick I could be banging sees my psuedo daughter as a sister. That made me completely nope out of that. I've played the games first, and then I read the novels after, so my choices weren't determined by that. Yet, it's so odd how I naturally preferred Yen in the games. I mean, she was such a sarcastic cunt to Geralt most of the time...but I absolutely adored that about her. I just felt there was so much more to her and I found her destructive motherly instinct so enduring. Not only that, but I guess I preferred Yen's body over Triss's.

Triss: How can I make myself relevant in this situation? Little sis!

I wish Ciri called Yen her mother at least once in the game :)

Goddammit, they did so well with emotional scenes like this one. Yen's joy at seeing her 'daughter' Ciri again gives me a warm feeling inside *__*

I could just play a 1000-hour game of Yennefer + Geralt + Ciri. This has to be one of the most heartwarming moments in the history of videogames. P.S. I need more 'CIRIIIIII!!!!!' from Yen. #TeamYenn

OMG, Yen was sooo cute when she screamed out Ciri's name! She's soo motherly and happy that her darling daughter is finally safe and back. I srsly, had no interest in romancing Triss at all throughout the whole 3 games. Totally ditched her on her own in the 2nd game. I wanted more Yen. :< Thanks for posting this! :D

People said Yen was cruel and deceiving in this game with scenes like the garden or the mask. All I saw was pretty much a Mom doing everything she can to find Ciri, even if means she is vilified, spited and hated for her actions. She didn't care, for everything she did was for Ciri.

I'd prefer Yennefer to be honest

If you guys think Triss and ciri’s interaction was awkward. In the books, Triss didn’t do anything to prevent the conclave from having ciri haul off to be married and bred by a random prince for their own selfish needs.

For the most part, the game did a poor job of reflecting just how close Yennefer was to Ciri. It's fair to say that Yennefer was more a mother to Ciri than Geralt was a father, at least in the books. Which you wouldn't know just from playing the game. This scene at least hinted a little bit at that relationship, but it should've been elaborated on much more than it was.

I wish they made it a little longer with Yennefer and Ciri, Yenn Is just as important as Geralt when it comes to them being her parents

To me, Triss is the perfect gf material when Yen is more of a wife material. Triss is good for temporary happiness, and the way she shemes to get Geralt feels more like what a young love would do while Yen knows than durability is more about following a common purpose rather than just love

Well mother's love for her child is the strongest, purest love there is, and that's a fact. Also this scene showed it clear as day.

All those things make the DLC's very hard for me to go through. That loneliness, omg... The world feels so empty without Ciri and Yen. I've compleeted Heart of Stone and not yet halfway through Blood and Wine, I shall finish them, but... Things ain't the same anymore. I rushed through sidequests because I though it was weird to run after Ciri and still have time for dumb quests. But now that the story line is done... there's no real motivation anymore. First time I ever end up in a game feeling lonely.

CDPR Projekt Red are just amazing. What they managed to do with The Witcher on a pretty small budget, with a tiny team, is unbelievable. Perhaps it's proof that too many cooks spoil the broth. But, everything about this game was on point. The VA performances, the unparralelled facial animations for a game that used procedural animation instead of mo cap, the plot, the character dialogues and interactions, the world building, the side quests... The list goes on and on. I don't know any words hyperbolic enough to adequately explain my awe and appreciation for The Witcher 3 and the people who made it. Bravo, good sirs. 👏

As someone who really doesn't like Triss, especially in the games. I wish they gave her something more here. Ciri means a lot to her too, she truly is like her little sister. That, almost calm "little sis" just doesn't feel like how Triss would react. It sounds more like my sister when I haven't visited her for a couple months, not if she hadn't seen me for years and had spent months not knowing if I was safe.

Can we agree Triss uses Ciri as an excuse to be near Geralt. Plus I didn't know the lore of the Witcher and fell for Tried because of the sensual voice, but when I saw this and heard her say little sis I was like that's gross so I deleted the whole 59 hours of gameplay watched and read up on the lore and went with Yen.

I went for Triss but I changed my mind mid game and this scene also does the trick for me.

The only difference is that if you romance triss she looks annoyed but If you romance yen she looks hurt.
