Not low key, he quite literally saved the world by being a witcher. Without him, so many things would have gone to shit possibly including ciri’s death which would have led to world destruction when the white frost came. At least some people could survive if they didnt eat the yellow snow...

@@wolololer I got the Witcher ending but I like this one more. Especially since the Trials of the Grasses strip you of your emotions, I don't wish it upon anyone. I was also horrified at completely missing the Radovid quest and Emyr dying. I might have liked the Witcher ending better if Geralt and Ciri stayed together, but she leaves on her own eventually, and since I romanced nobody Geralt was depressed and alone as a consequence.

Zade YO I can’t remember the specifics but I’m sure internet research would take you to the source. the writers/ directors had taken a contract for the new Star Wars movie which was coming up quick and basically the deadline meant that they cut corners on the script and plot for the final season coz they were being money grabbing cunts and wanted the money from the Star Wars contract. However, because they cut corners and rushed game of thrones, Disney chose to not take on the writers so really it but then in the ass.

xLetalis Anywhere. After getting so involved with the game, it was heartless for the DEVS to just make the main characters disappear. People on game forum had idea on how to still have the main character for example, have the option of conversation (even if repetitive), usual relationship staff. I felt depressed in Kaer Mohan after the end of the game (Ciri became a witcher in my ending) and instantly fast travelled out of there. And yesterday, I fully uninstalled the game. Maybe being alone is the true witcher life. Sigh.

Me too, actually I think I did tear up if I'm being honest (not the only time this game brought those kind of emotions out in me, which is rare!) After 3 games, 7 books, I became very close with these characters. I also believed that I had made fairly good decisions, at the time I didn't know what the 3 endings were and how you achieved them, so I was a loss for words at the time, I didn't think that could be the best/good ending which I was hoping for. Unfortunately I made the mistake of looking up what determined the endings that you received, I didn't want direct spoilers, just a subtle nod in the right direction out of curiosity wondering what lead to my empress ending. Of course the person's post that I read on the official Witcher forum didn't format their thread ideally. They had written the 3 different endings in such a way that it was unavoidable to skim over them while reading, and it didn't take a speed reader since they were written in only a few words, so long story short, I was technically spoiled on the other 2 endings! :( learned my lesson the hard way. I still plan on doing at least 2 PT to see the other endings myself and to make other decisions differently. Such an incredible game, series of games and books, I love the Witcher universe.

Came to involve me emotionally ALMOST as the Baldur's Gate saga. And BG is my favourite game ever.

TheDarkSider Radovid didn't win anything in my game. Knowing what a fanatic viper he was, I jumped at the chance to assassinate him instantly. Phillippa Eilhart killed him and Temeria was free. Also, realizing that Ciri was wanted by Emhyr to rule in his stead (since he planned on giving the throne to her), Nilfgard conquering everything was better by far. They had a way better economy, and were way more civilized when it came to treating non humans. With Ciri as Empress, a dawn of a New Age begins. Something similar to what Ceris did in Skellige, but to a much higher degree.

Shuriken Nexus 6 If you watch the end of Witcher 2, the cinematic of Nilfgaard invading, you see how they butcher innocent peasants. I'd rather a thousand witches burn than half a million people be killed by Emhyr's mad dogs. Why is a free Temeria that important? Geralt has no ties to it. What's the independence of one kingdom's value when the rest of the North is controlled by Nilfgaard?

I don't think that you even know about Witcher universe then. All the stories may have Geralt as protagonist but ultimately, Ciri is the prime focus. She completely changed Geralt and brought him closer to Yen. The moment Geralt invokes the Law of Surprise, Ciri and Geralt got bonded through destiny. It became Geralt's destiny to find and care about Ciri. Witcher 3 is just the acknowledgement of this very fact. Geralt, Yen and Ciri are meant to be together, it's what their destiny is.

And now White Orchard was filled with dead bodies, and the eternal fire is everywhere hunting mages and witchers included. People getting killed because the neighbour acused him of being a spy. Ciri is alive and that's good but the state of the land is worse than it was with the Nilfgaardian invasion. It was a great ending. All of them are.

Well in my game I got the "Ciri is a Witcher" ending and Geralt still went off to live and die on his own. So not exactly what I'd call "perfect" but still a good ending.

Realist ending. Making Ciri a Witcher to make Geralt happy is pretty selfish. Especially as empress, Ciri can pretty much end all war almost instantaneously. Even though it's a bittersweet ending, I think it's the best in terms of the bigger picture. Plus, I like to imagine Geralt can visit Ciri once in a while, like a real parent/child relationship.

The true is Emperor is mad guy and marry someone call False Ciri,Cintra Princess. Ciri actually want become Witcher like Geralt. Actually if Ciri empress,her son will rule all of the world (destruction of the world and end of the world) so it's mean really worst ending pick empress ending for me (100% in my eyes/perspective and little based on the book)

I think you hit the nail on the head. The "Empress+Triss romance" ending is basically the "Happily ever after" scenario, similar to Lord of the Rings with Aragorn becoming King while Frodo and Gandalf leave the world behind and those that remain live comfortable lives for the rest of their days.

I think she lost her powers fighting the white frost. She doesn't use her powers in the fight in this video, but she used her powers in every other fight. I don't think she will be able to warp sadly.

Her power can change the world for the better and bring all races togather. Geralt only accomplished so much because of other people, without yennefer/triss/dijkstra and what not he cant do anything, even then the witch hunts continues without emphyr.

I agree actually. I just got the “bad” ending, but to be fair it felt incredibly realistic. This is the best ending in my opinion tho.

Let's take the mind reading thing for example. Geralt hates it when sorceresses read his mind. Understandable, who enjoys their privacy being invaded? Triss respects this and has, to my knowledge, only read his mind once: in TW1 when she found him unconscious in a swamp and needed to know what happened so she could know how to treat him. And IIRC she apologized for even that. Yennefer does it constantly with absolutely no regard for Geralt's wishes. Her insulting reasoning is that he shouldn't have secrets from her. Not 5 minutes after she says that, she demands his help stealing something from Ermion and refuses to tell him anything about why. He's not allowed secrets from her, but she's constantly keeping things from him. *Constantly*. Just about anytime you see her, she's demanding Geralt do something or other for her and doesn't deign to even let him know why he's assigned his task. Like a dog. I can't fathom why anyone would want to put up with a cunt like Yennefer. Personally, I envision Geralt as having some self-respect. He'd be better off alone than with Yennefer.

I actually enjoyed that ending, not actually enjoyed, but thought it was a well written ending. Usually those endings are short and poorly written compared to the other ones. It was the highest point of Geralt's emotional state. You can tell he changed from losing Ciri. Most dramatic character development in the game. The fact that the game doesn't even mention Yen or Triss in the epilogue suggests this affected Geralt so much so, that they had a falling out. It's a powerful moment as Geralt portrayed what most players were feeling at the time without even saying much. Sad, angry, remorseful, and lonely.

I doubt she will even marry general vohris (even tho he's a nice guy), as he state in the game, if she won't want to. Geralt is not really "giving" her to Emhyr, she decide it herself, if he keeps his word to the emperor, who gave him resources to find her. She knows what her father did, but she doesn't go there to love him, she says she goes there to change the things are. As a player you can force any conclusion to this story, but IMO this is the one that heroes would draw themselves given the choice.

This is for me the happy happening,their both alive and going on with their life with the possibility/hope they will meet again...i watched the "happy" ending(with Triss) and though it was ok but at the end of it Geralt was in Kovaiir and Ciri was off wandering as a Witcher on her own while not a "bad" end I felt their eventual separation was actually more bittersweet than this one ..

Omar Ehab Realistically you are keeping your word with the Emperor. Plus telling someone to get educated by talking to someone is not forcing them to live their life in a certain way. Ciri could have still said no to the Emperor, or lied to him and disappear. The fact that she ends up choosing that life after talking to him herself says you would have manipulated her more by not taking her.

armoredp u wouldn't manipulating her. Geralt doesn't manipulate her on purpose if he decided not to take her. She doesn't even want to meet her father where she states " do we really have to go?" from a realistic perspective Geralt is just not risking ciri meeting her dad or being endangered or manipulated by him. You're only manipulating her as THE PLAYER. There is no bad ending though, all of them are good in their own way and this ending is what's best for the whole world and she can even help Geralt much more. Come to think of it Geralt would not be with her no matter what ending. This makes the bittersweet ending possiblly my favourite ending.

@@lelouche25 Sorry for Essay. Nah there's more other than that. City's story is basically a subversion of the chosen one. She is not the chosen one, her child will be. She's just a perfect storm that will lead to that child. The White Frost is just a natural calamity, not an extradimensional threat. It's essentially global warming. Ciri's child will not defeat the White Frost, but will lead others through a mass evacuation. Others want Ciri for her womb. The game completely glosses over that Auberon died because of an aphrodisiac overdose to rape Ciri. The Wild Hunt wanted her child too. Cause elven supremacy and such, I actually forgot about that part lol. Ciri basically ends up leaving behind everything, escaping from the shadow of Destiny. Her own path. But the game just makes her the chosen one to save the world from an extradimensional calamity. That and they fuck up her relationship with Yennefer too. They mess up quite a bit of Yennefer in general. I recall Book Ciri saying she wants to be known as Ciri of Vengerberg. But Game Ciri says "Yennefer has plans for me but Avallac'h is different" like throwing Yennefer under the bus, and glossing over a character that wanted her to be raped because he's a racist asshole. Speaking of Yennefer, don't get me started on The Last Wish! The wish wasn't love, Geralt and Yennefer truly love each other, no wish needed, and the comments by CDPR about this quest is mind boggling and stupid. For the same reason of Ciri escaping destiny is why I don't like the Empress ending either, that basically spits in the face of her development in the books, where she just submits to the destiny laid out by her father. And now everyone knows that she's his daughter, no mention of him marrying a fake Ciri. Yeah the ending is well directed, and sad, and it's fine if all you got is the games, but with the context of the books it is pretty bad. The bad ending is much true to the books, so is the Witcheress ending, although it's very much a happy ending. Think of the bad ending as the novels, nd the Witcheress ending and Blood and Wine as the non-canon short story "Something Ends, Something Begins". Everything else is pretty good though! Especially Hearts of Stone. You could have told me that Hearts of Stone was an unpublished manuscript by Sapkowski, wouldn't have batted an eye. Shame he doesnt like games, he may have an aneurysm from the main quest, but he probably would like the Bloody Baron and Hearts of Stone especially.

Prefer this ending. I hate endings where everythings tied nicely with a bow. Plus cerys and ciri ruling gives me a nice image

@@iTzM4S0Nxi "he's not bad" is not a strong argument for having to marry anyone. Morvran seems pretty chill in my opinion as well but with the amount of forced impregnations/marriages ciri has resisted in the past, it makes 0 sense why she'd agree to this one after all her struggles

Funky Goose if you murder radovid and side with dijkstra after u can still take her to emhyr but she won‘t become empress in the end since he‘s dead and redania wins the war.

But you have to force her to go to Emyhr im pretty sure so thats against her choice. I think she only wanted to be empress after she spoke to Emyhr but a witcher was what she always wanted, and what vesimir wanted.

I dunno. I feel her choice gets slightly forced for her in this ending. The whole game she states she wants a normal life and to be free. If you take her to her daddy something she'd never do out her own free will if Geralt didn't mention it and he plants the idea of her being empress and being able to do more to aid people etc into her head, her being a kind hearted/good willed character she would chose to agree even if it ain't what she truly wanted. I guess that's the bitter sweetness of it all her being alive and content but ultimately put back on the pedestal she wanted to be free from. I only completed the game the other day (1st time) and got the Ciri being a free witcher, Geralt and Yen fucking off on their own and radovid dead ending. Being a sucker for a good well rounded love story ending, I'm pretty content with that.

You could think of it that way. But geralt does give her a choice, but she asks for his opinion, probably knowing that he doesnt like him. She was looking for approval not to visit him. Then her father manipulated her into becoming empress, but it wasnt what she wanted. Not to mention she marries someone she doesnt love and she marries a guy even though she's into women.

Ciri takes the medallion herself, then it gets stolen by the crone that escapes when ciri kills the other two

She wasnt going back to her father , she accepted to rule alone, her father wouldnt be a king anymore.He had stepped down iirc And being good person is generally enough to be a good ruler since kingdom itself is already powerful. She wouldnt need that much experience about ruling. Banishing crimes and evil acts would be mostly enough for ruler to make the kingdom better place , Advisers and experts can cover the rest.

@@mar2506 Even if he stepped down, do you really think Emhyr would just retire to a remote castle somewhere and leave his life's work entirely to his inexperienced early 20 something daughter who's barely even lived in the court? He gives me the impression of being a control freak.

@@Evija3000 ciri is inexperienced as a ruler but surely experienced enough to handle his father. if she wanted. he might be control freak but don't think he can control ciri. and his lifes work was more about having a child that was destined to rule, don't think he had personal ambitious considering he left the throne so easily.

While she might be a fair and good empress. Not many would rejoice being under the governance of Nilfgaard regardless of who sits on the throne. There would be bloodshed until the Kingdoms are fully pacified. No way peaceful. Best thing she can do is just leave Northern Kingdoms and return the lands that Nilfgaard took, but I doubt the Nilfgaardian nobility would agree with that. Ofc as an empress she has the final say, but making enemies with the nobility leads to assassination attempts and paranoia. Paranoia leads to what Radovid was doing in Witcher 3. Executing people who looked at him funny. Executing people who look at her funny leads to the common folk getting agitated and ultimately riot. Still the best ending when considering peace, but peace is a fragile thing. "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely"

It also keeps her away from a thankless job that has a very high mortality rate, pathetic pay, angry mobs and angry monsters. At least as empress she can actually do good on a large scale then clearing out every cave one by one only to have something else move in two weeks after she leaves.

well I agree that Ciri leaving to rule Nilfgaard is the "best" outcome. Yet I still prefer the Witcher ending.I feel that as a witcher she is doing what she loves whereas in the empress ending she is doing what she feels obligated to do.Still everyone had their own preferences...For me Witcher ending is my Canon

Beside for me, i believe this is the real geralt will do in these situation based on the book and my witcher marathon playthough...throughout the game my choice is ciri is witcher,romance Yen,Svanrige is king and temeria got back its country(mainly cuz i go with roche in TW2).Beside i hate emhyr in book and game.

Meh Svanrige... Doesn`t that mean that under his rule the Skelligers are free to rape, kill and plunder as they did before? Both him and Hjalmar liked their bandit way of life, did they not? Cerys was the only sensible ruler that sought a self sustaining way of life for her people.

YES! i tottally agree with you! Mass Effect was family really, all charachters . I remember toooking screenshoot at that party in house in third part of mass effect , party in apartment to have on my PC as memory . BTW this didnt make me cried. I couldnt cried like Geralt said because i was more in shock that she decided to go to Emhyr. Im so emotional person and i crying always after i finish some game similar to this , but at the end of this game i diddny cry. "I cant cry... dont know how". I felt same as Geralt after The Battle of Kaer Morhen, i couldnt cried at the end, even my eyes were full sadness.
