I love Zoltan Chivay. He's that one friend that everyone would like to have. I think Sapkowski and CD Projekt Red are the only ones that truly did dwarves justice after Tolkien.
He didn't say the game did justice to some characters, he said it did did justice to dwarfs overall, not only the Withers ones. I must say it's kinda true. What was the last memorable dwarf you have seen? It will probably be Gimli or maybe Oghren from DA:O.
Gimli for me definitely, hes a cult character for me been watching him since childhood, also most memorable elf is Legolas, them two and Aragorn where my favorite characters i gotta agreed Zoltan and Gimli are definitely best and most memorable dwarf characters.
Elder Scrolls did them justice in their own way. The level of mystery they've attained with never actually showing much (if any) of the dwarves, let alone the dwarves in their prime, has created a really good sense of curiosity. Also the way they went extinct by having other races feeling threatened by their technological and magical prowess was really well done.
why is it that the best soundtracks are always for the most mundane fights? the only time that Naranca plays in the entire game is when you fight some foglets on skellige that nobody even gives two shits about.
@@bobmcbob49 Well, i guess W3 runs on the philosophy to make small mundane things great... (I must say, it succeeds a lot) Like, you see some small quests that had epic music, and some bigger ones as well. Most games, what they do is add in the epic music in the greatest of fights, but TW3 all fights get epic music, that's what makes all those moments memorable for us...like when you hear this music, you instantly either think of Geralt and Zoltan's fights, or Geralt and Ciri wrecking the laboratory...becomes automatically connected and you remember those mundane-made-awesome moments with the music Also, btw, I think Naranca had some copyright-related issues (even though it was made by Percival), so I think CDPR had to remove it from like, the rest of the game, but they put it in a pretty much missable quest.
Zoltan shined his brightest after Kaer Morhen; when all despaired, he kept to that a counterattack was the next step, that you're only defeated once you accept defeat.
Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine have really good soundtracks, and they really set the mood, with hearts of stone having mainly mysterious music, that just adds too the feeling of the unknown, and blood and wine having a soundtrack that has both peaceful music that fits the beautiful landscape, and combat music that really adds to the sense of danger that vampires have
Zoltan Chivay Sigismund Dijkstra Philip Strenger Olgierd Von Everec Regis So many unforgettable support characters with such a fantastic soundtrack. what a game
*Zoltan is one of the truest and most noble friends anyone could have the honor of drinking with.* Or as in Zoltan's own thickly accented words, *"Get pissed like wild badgers!"*
After Thronebreaker ''Spring cleaning'' got a whole different meaning. Spoiler Every spring in Mahakam the dwarves go out and kill all the monsters that come from the old mines.
I presume that's in one of the first two? Really need to get playing them. Been stuck on the first one because of how grindy it is to get things, but I really just need to suffer through it. It's like going from Skyrim to Morrowind - it's hard as hell to make the transition but I have a feeling it'll be worth it in the end.
I dunno about that, I never felt the first Witcher was grindy, altho I do admit that you can get kinda lost with all the quests in the first two acts (especialy the first one), took me forever to finish it. Also, imho Morrowind is way better than Skyrim, so going back to it shouldn't be a problem, at least for me :D.
Morrowind and Skyrim are great in their own ways. Morrowind is a true RPG that throws you into the world with damn near zero guidance and does have some fatal flaws (you have to hit attacks to gain skill, but the lower your skill the lower your chance of actually hitting a target), economy, etc. Skyrim is much more polished and is hilariously easy to mod, but as fun as it is to play the story of it isn't great, nor are many of the quests.
Such good track. Appeared in the game for about a total 30 seconds in a 100+ hour campaign...... wow.. when you have too much good stuff you don’t have enough space to fully show them. This is the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Zoltan is always ready to rumble, and never asks or cares about the odds. The man is forever ride or die, a true friend. Get yourself a Zoltan in your life.
@@mattaffenit9898 To my shame i can admit that i've never heard about this instrument until a year ago. From official video of a song called "Rebirth" by Eluveitie.
@@biguschungus3989 I don't. Spoiler: Because since Dragon Age: Origins and the Original Mass Effect Trilogie my standards for a what has to be a good Game where already considerbly very high.
God damn I hate this game because it makes me miss all the charecters so much... And departing with Ciri (no matter which ending you get, you know there is no more adventures with her and I mean by saying "you" I mean you not Geralt) when you finished the game, dunno why but I felt like I she was my doughter. Game really does give you that feeling.
+Jerrys Med I know how you feel, I got so sad what happened to Vesemir, I wanted him to be there even after the end of the game. It felt so devastating with Vesemir gone. Like a father to the witchers and now they all went their ways to avoid painful feelings. But the game did a wonderful job though even if it's sad at the same time.
+Jerrys Med i got the bittersweet finale. the one where you're back at White Orchard and it's snow all around. the ending stung me so hard i started a newgame+ as soon as i finished the DLC. the ending is perfect but i couldn't let it go. there is so much emotion in Geralt when it comes to Ciri that when you get to see her story parts you immediately fall in love. and i'm young yes? i have no children of my own. this game kinda made me understand what kind of a love that can be
What a Masterpiece! This isn't a game! This is an Experience! Feels like I lived through all of it. Soundtracks. Characters. Quests. Stories. Sceneries. So depth in every inch of the game. No review can actually judge the game nor rank it. Damn, Vesemir's death caused me to shed tears. Every character is memorable. Played so many games till now! Never felt the same. And sadly never will.
"If I see you here again I'll shove my boot right up your arse!" God bless people, who was involved in creation of adaptation of Zoltan in Witcher game series. One of the best "bro" characters of all times. Wish to have a friend like him, but... I'm like Zoltan myself.
This must be one of the best battle theme soundtracks I've ever heard. So much power and energy in this one, while still being somewhat chaotic elegant in its lead melody.
For me, this brings to mind the Rivian Pogrom in the last book. [The human’s rampaging through the non human district, tearing dwarves limb from limb, and Geralt, whom moments ago swore he was ready to lay down his sword for good, refused to stand idle. Zoltan, Yarpen and Dandelion insisted they could help, but Geralt refused to let the Dwarves and the Poet drown in the sea of savage bigotry and the three begrudgingly hid in the basement of the old Inn. Geralt took one deep breath, and jumped into the mob from the front porch, filleting a man who was aiming a blow at a woman with a knout. He removed the next ones hand, who was grasping the hair of another woman. He hacked down two men kicking a dwarf on the ground with two, swift diagonal slashes. And he entered the crowd quickly, spinning around in half turns. He cut with wide blows, apparently chaotically - knowing that such strokes are bloodier and more spectacular. A soldier shouts savagely over the crowd, exposing Geralt as, “an elf…” and again shouts, “Kill the elf!” Geralt spotted the soldier, and worked his way through the crowd like an eel. The soldier shielded himself with a javelin held in both hands. Geralt cut along the shaft, chopping off the soldier’s fingers. The Witcher whirled bringing forth shrieks of pain and fountains of blood with the next broad stroke. “Mercy!” an unkempt young man with crazy eyes fell on his knees in front of him. “Spare me!” Geralt spared him, stopped the movement of his arm and sword, using the momentum intended for the blow to spin away. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the unkempt youth spring to his feet and saw what he was holding. Geralt interrupted the turn to spin back the other way. But he was stuck in the crowd. He was stuck in the crowd for a split second. All he could do is watch as the three-fanged fork flew towards him. Geralt cried out in pain and bent over. The trident sticking into his stomach overbalanced him and when he fell onto his knees, it slid out of his body, and blood poured out with a swoosh and a splash on the cobbles. He tried to rise but instead fell over onto his side. Sounds resonated and echoed. His vision blurred, but he saw the crowd take flight. Running from Zoltan and Yarpen holding battle axes. Shouting and cursing at the cowards, plunging the bearded blades into those too slow to turn and run.]
Game made by the poles. Zoltan pictured mostly after hungarians. We hungarians have some throat singers after so long that "relearned" the thing from mongols.
well people who made the game will not be responsible for the movie so no "they" wont dissapoint. If the movie will be tied to hollywood tho than its a 100% failure.
Now I want a DLC where you can play as Zoltan. Jumping on people with your axe, biting their ears off and choking them while on their backs, punching them in the balls, or kicking them in the shin. All over, just being an awesome cranky dwarf who give no fucks about organized combat.
