@@a-bloke-named-chris9805 civil engineering right now is on fire, we hire str8 out of college, i actually didnt even go to college, but they hired me since the work was piling up. i think the computer side of the technical design process will almost always yield a higher salary. get lots of experience on computers, like cad, microstation, bentley, all that. check with google on whos pay is more compelling rn. i think civil engineers make more than mechanical engineers
