Rules have been submitted to BGG for approval. Once approved they will show up in the files section for the game on BGG. Once rules are approved I will submit cards for approval.
Blown away by the elegance of the design. Superb job. Can’t wait to try it (I still haven’t received my game, so I technically *can* wait, but you know what I mean)
Looking forward to this! I would have been content with Wild Hunt, Legendary Hunt, and base solo, but this is *next level*! This is up there with the completely revamped solo mode for Masters of the Universe Clash for Eternia. Thanks so much for providing this!
Great video man! You are extremely talented and I hope devs will recognize this and buy this mode from you or something :p Couple of comments 1) You've mentioned that if the effect says to gain a potion when automa already has 4, it gains nothing. Wouldn't it be better to discard one and gain a bomb instead (if it has less than 4 bombs)? 2) In your mutagen example, will the automa flip the mutagen even if it effectively did nothing? Like raising a shield level when already on max 3) What is the downside of fighting the automa whenever possible? In regular game if the defending player wins - that's +2 card on the future action phase. Since automa doesn't use action cards, is it intended to be a witcher combat target?
Thanks for the comments and questions! 1. To keep it simple I just kept it that it didnt gain one. Also, not everyone will have the bombs expansion so I also wanted to keep that in mind. 2. Good catch and no. I will need to clarify this in the rules. 3. You can fight the automa if you wish. With that said though its deck packs a punch so if you go after it, especially early, good luck. The downside of continually fighting the automa would be that you are losing out on exploration during Phase II, especially if you keep losing to the automa.
Just picked up the core and played the solo mode. It’s pretty thin so just finished printing out your cards and looking forward to trying. It looks like a solid Automa!
Do you anticipate the cards being updated as expansion compatibility is added? I ran into the problem of printing out automa cards for Masters of the Universe, only to see them get updated/edited a couple of times since the printing. I'll hold off if you think changes will be pending.
For Skellige and Legendary Hunt I plan on creating new cards that would be shuffled into setup. For mages it would be a whole new deck of Automa cards so no need to reprint the witchers deck.
@@Dukefanblue2005 Thanks, Mark! (Disregard the BGG question, I asked this there as well). Okay, I'll wait for all of the cards to come out and then print them all out in one go. Really impressed with everything, the cards, the video, the rulebook - it rivals the production quality of MANY paid/official solo modes!
Hmm, good question. The Azul campaign that I am working on is pretty ambitious. Also the automa I created for Techno Bowl was pretty ambitious. This one is up there though.
Gongrats for your work. It is appreciated. Just me being curious here...how many rounds, in average , does the automa needs to reach 4 trophies in normal difficulty ? Thanks in advance
I think you may have a rule wrong. When fighting a monster the rulebook says that you have to have at least 1 card left in hand in order to win against a monster.
@Dukefanblue2005 yeah this particular rule is confusing and I'm doing my best to find clarification. I found a couple of youtube video rule explanations I have say that you need to have a card in hand even when attacking to win. But in regards to the 0 card rule/ win scenario ... I think it only applies win the monster is attacking and you have zero cards that you drive the monster away. So your right ... I think lol
@@gregwatt5003 yep, this is a common question that gets asked a lot on boardgamegeek. Rightfully so since it isn’t as clear in the rules but it has been confirmed by Go On Board as to the ruling.
