And one more thing about Fringilla and Yennefer: It is true what the "older" faction says: if not for Yennefer spoiling their plans to place her in Nilfgaard, this war would never happen. Yennefer would never submit herself to the "White Flame" and his new religion. Nilfgaard would remain a backwater country. Instead, Fringilla, not meant for that post, totally submitted her self to the new ruler & embraced the new religious zeal of the Nilfgaardians, and even began actively searching for every means possible to help their cause (including the most vile kinds of magic). Fringilla was a weakling, never meant for Nilfgaard. Yen was thought to be the one capable of keeping them in check. But she decided to play her own game instead, Thus, she was the first one to actively CHANGE THE HISTORY of the Continent. The others were Geralt & Calanthe, both fighting against destiny, each in his/her own way.

One more important detail about Yennefer going South to find Istredd: she obviously gave up on her ambition to have her fertility restored -- after what she heard from the Gold Dragon. She looks for a new place for her in this world. But this particular path is closed. So she agrees to come to Aretuza. Still seeking, but being even bitter and more cynical. Finally, going to war for ther Rectoress' sake becomes her new purpose in life.

I think that it was my favorite ep. I didn't understand why Mousesack kept looking at Gerald when he met Ciri so thanks to explain why. You should listen to the last 3 episodes of the podcast Behind the Scenes. It helps to understand some of the choises in the show and can hear some fun facts and also the writer, producer and the two main actresses.

Really enjoying the breakdown of the episodes. The name titles really helps to remember the characters and the extra lore, along with the explanations like with mousesacks magic and Geralts medallion to communicate with eachother, really helps and makes the show more enjoyable when rewatching the episodes. Just one small thing: ciri’s timelines can’t ALL be in the present. Episode one is the present and episode 7 is the present. All times after the attack by milfgard would have to be in the future. Right?

Thank you. The queen really fucked up. All of this could have been avoided but she was too stubborn and too arrogant. I really don't like Ciri. I know she is a child but she sure doesn't seem to learn. It seems it is the people that she thinks she can trust that shit on her. I hope she and Geralt find each other soon cause she gets on my nerves. Yennifer is getting on my nerves also. I mean sick it up and stop having a pity party and fight for something instead of of blaming the order. She knew what she was getting and she chose power. It really is a waste but i think that she is at het best when challenged by or fighting with Geralt.

Gerald and Yennefer's narrative couldnt have been 12 days before Ciri because remeber in the 1st or 2nd episode, Ciri tells the boy she finds in the woods that she has not spoken to anyone in 3 weeks which would be over 21 days... For Gerald to be in Cintra 12 days before we are even introduced to the doppler would be impossible

Actually they do meet nilfgaard in the field in the 1st episode to move that amount of troops might take awhile so it could be longer

Just pondered upon what the actual timeline of that was. I'm no longer near as confused with this series as I was in episode one when I started watching your videos, but will still continue watching your recaps because sometimes I miss things and they are enjoyable. thanks for the time and effort put into them for us witcher newbies.

Thanks!!! I'm glad you liked it!!!! Pavetta wasn't trained on how to use her magic so she lacked the knowledge to save herself. So say she went to a school like yennefer did maybe then she could have saved herself by teleporting

Yenniffer character is never satisfied, she is chaos in way that she is unpredictable, she is not led by an ideology, wat she seeks is unattainable therefore she will never be satisfied. It makes her miserable n frankly a pain.

Idk if this is sarcasm or not. But let's just say, for simplicity's sake, Geralt, Yen, and Ciri's story is linear, but with different starting points. From EP 1-7, Geralt and Yennefer's stories were decades before Ciri. And by episode 8, all of them catched up to the present timeline.

If Geralt was there for Ciri then why the fuck did he flee when he was freed and the city was under attack when he could have obtained Ciri and got away?! He just fucking leaves like "Why was I here again? Meh. Don't remember." I've said this before in a different comment, I like the show and I think it has a lot of potential, but it has some piss poor writing at times, and this was very much one of those times.
