The small details really add up to a movie worth focusing on: the Sheriff noticing alcohol on his son’s breath, no cutlery in the cabin at the beginning, that mouthy punk re-telling an argument that took place at the restaurant, etc. These things show the screenplay had a lot of work and scrutiny put into it.

I also think it’s when Paul asks John about his daughter, that John wonders “How did he know my daughter was attacked?”

this is such a severely underrated movie, and it's awesome that someone with such a keen eye for details and a great vocabulary for movie techniques gave it such a good analysis video! it made me appreciate the film even more, as there are a few things you pointed out that i didn't notice, or didn't have the words to describe. thank you!

This is just an amazing movie. I think the off-screen action unsettled and distracted the audience in the same way that John is unsettled and distracted. I remember lots of smash edits ramping up the tension, culminating in That Slap.

100%. There are several moments where it feels like the scene goes beyond the camera and past the viewer, giving it an immersive and disturbing feel at the same time. I loved it.

I enjoy your content, so I'm gonna go find whatever this is, before the vid spoils it, watch it. Then come back. In the mean time, don't stop making content, I've really enjoyed the other videos on your channel so far. Keep up the good work!

@@nautilusfiles I'll be looking forward to it. I hope it's something I've already watched, or something I don't plan on watching at all, just so I don't have to wait to click lolol. Good luck!

@@mzmendy Oh, the next one is going to be on Severance again. It's going to be about the main villain, Ms. Cobel. I hope you like it. BTW, if you have Amazon Prime you can watch The Wolf of Snow Hollow on it for free. They recently added it!

Again, a great summary and analysis. I am with you, I liked the reveal itself, but wanted it a bit later (though the scene between the two men was excellent and tense!). I thought all of the acting was great, especially the female deputy. Jim Cummings is quirky enough that I am sure he's not everyone's cup of tea, but I really enjoyed him in this a lot. Over all a great movie, def one of my fave horror films I watched last year! Thanks for the quality content!

Yeah, this film was far from conventional in so many ways. I think that's why it still stands out as one of the better horror films I've seen in the last few years, and I just had to talk about it. I really enjoy his direction style and hope he keeps making films.

It's one of those movies that if you don't pay attention you're gonna miss a lot of clues, as I did lol

TBH, I only caught some of the subtleties because I watched it about 3 or 4 times in the process of writing for it. He's incredibly clever, and he's able to accomplish so much on a very limited budget.

Paul Wasn’t Killed By John, He Was Killed By Julia, Officer Robson, Whom You Never Mentioned in Your Review, Just Showed Her Face But Ignored Her (Riki Lindhome, a Fine Actress) Twice!!😠
