Maria you are a brave woman to live alone on the mountains. I live alone and I'm very content and happy. God is my constant companion. I'm Italian, I cook, bake, sew, knit, make jewelry, do all my gardening, I've tiled my own bathroom, done brick paving etc. 😊😊

If anyone is curious about the ingredients, they are: flour, pressed cottage cheese, sugar, eggs, fermented/soured milk (fresh cow's milk left to sit in a warm place for about one day), baking soda + white vinegar (for fluffy texture), and oil (for frying). In Ukrainian these are called "syrni ponchyky"; "syr" = "cheese", so basically cheese cakes. They can be either deep-fried like in the video or just fried on both sides in less oil. You eat them with sour cream, jam, or with a bit of sugar sprinkled on top. The doughnut shape is new to me, but it actually makes sense as they would cook through more evenly with a hole in the middle - smart idea. P.S. Some commenters are giving this lady grief about the cats. Just so you know: these cats are not necessarily house pets. On the countryside they are usually predatory semi-independent creatures who are fully capable of capturing, killing, and eating mice/frogs/other small mammals. But still, people do feed their furry friends and give them a place to sleep. I am sure no cats were harmed in the making of this video.
@@carolgiffen8203 Hi Carol, I never buy cottage cheese and always buy milk from homegrown cows to make cheese myself. Just leave about three quarts of it in a warm place until it gets chunky sour. Scoop away the sour cream and put the pan with the soured milk on the stove, and heat it slowly until the thick part sinks down, for about 40 minutes, and the temperature should all the time be below 80 degrees centigrade. Then dump the mass onto a sieve and wait till it gets cold and crumbly. Its up to you whether you want the cheese pressed. If you underdo with heating, the cheese will take longer to stiffen in the pan, but if you overdo, you,ll get resinous staff. And even worse, if you disturb the mass by stirring the soured milk, you ll get no chunks of cheese but something like mashed potatoes at the bottom of your pan. But sure it is not a rocket science and worth doing, just be mentally prepared for low quality of your first batches

Hello from Czech Republic🙌 Je obdivuhodné, co všechno tato žena dokáže. Vše z čerstvých a prostých surovin, které si sama vyrobí. Žít v tak krásně přírodě, mezi zvířaty, je jako žít v pohádce.Tato žena nemá ani čas na špatné myšlenky, její mysl je čistá a klidná. Ve městech je život jeden velký chaos, neklid a honba za penězi. Lidé by se měli zamyslet, co nejvíce potřebují k životu. Chybí nám všem láska, soudržnost a porozumění.
Máte pravdu. Akorát si nemyslím, že tam žije úplně sama. Vždyť jenom ty donuty by jedla měsíc 🙂. Ale je úžasná jak je samostatná v takových podmínkách. Připomíná mi mou prababičku, taky byla neskutečně pracovitá a v kuchyni se otáčela jako když bičem mrska. Taky měli venkovní černou kuchyni se starými kamny na zavařování a zabijačku. Musela jsem se zamyslet nad tím, jak asi musí být náročné vyjet v takovém místě někam do města na nákup a jaké to asi mají v zimě. Ať už sama nebo s rodinou, paní má můj obdiv.

I was thinking the exact same thing. "WOMAN LIVES ALONE..." but who is filming her? I enjoy watching none the less. I wish I can live alone in the mountains in all caps. Her home, cooking and mountain esthetic are all so enjoyable to watch.
