Thanks for the beautiful video. It brought back memories of my childhood at GSPS school (now GSIS). Glad to see Ooty still as beautiful as it was 20 years ago.
I hail from town which is approx 100 km from beautiful Ooty, Now living in Europe since half a decade Although I have traveled alot but still miss my very own beautiful Ooty. I used to celebrate my happiness my sorrows everything in Ooty. It haven been times when we have travelled ooty just to have a coffee and return back.
This is a great honour to be the real beautiful nature of the world and the great jungle.....survival of all kinds of kit and the man ....ethically made the beautiful story of the nature....... Thanks to your strong views
Paul, Your videos are absolutely wonderful. I found your page on RU-vid when I was searching for videos on Ooty just a few days ago. I am particulary interested in videos about India, the Hill Stations especially. You are greatly blessed in being able to travel so extensively, and then to provide such amazingly well produced and narrated videos on where you have been. I am sure I will be spending a great deal of time looking at all the videos you have made, and introducing myself to the people and places you have visited. I could go on and on explaining how impressed I have been. Thank you so much, I look forward to visiting what has become my favourite travel video collection.
Alan Flint Thanks Alan, Indeed I have filmed several Hill stations, Missouri, Shimla, Mt Abu, Munnar, Panchgani, Kodaikanal. Mahabaleshwar, but loved Dalhousie in Himachal. Bishop Caleb there was a good friend, though he is no longer with us. I filmed it but never made a film of it! I just finished Split in Croatia, coming this weekend. You may search under the playlists for India, but my website has many films at Xscion.org. Thanks for your kind comments. Paul
I was born and brought up in nilgiri district .(ootty) I can assure you that the number of wild elephants, tigers or bison has not decreased as you said... it's true that deforestation has had huge impact on the eco system. the government and NGO keep telling that the numbers are going down rapidly . but recent surveys have proved otherwise. I worked as a government contractor for a couple of years and travelled through the kallatti ghats roads to ootty at least ones in a week. the foreign funds the NGO 's get is the main reason why they lie about the numbers... in b/w 11 locals were killed by elephants in the past 2 years in and around my village.. you should have visited the tea plantations from the British era..
A very good video. Your commentary is excellent. I had been to Ooty two months back and enjoyed the place. I was able to see the steam engine running. Now the steam engine is running between Coonoor and Mattupalyam. I saw the steam engine going in the loco shed. On my asking the railway staff they informed the steam train leave Coonoor at 7.00 am to Mattupalyam planing to make the trip. Once again I thank you for making a wonderful video
Beautiful video. I only spent one month in Mumbai, ( formerly known as Bombay), but I fell in love with India, because I fell in love with the Indian people.
Outstanding video ! I visited Ooty in 1960. Then , the railway track had three rails . Two the usual and One in the middle like a rack . The engine also had a gear-like toothed wheel , which helped trekking and while it had steep gradient the station were on a level platform going out like a fork . Once the passengers alighted and boarded , the train reversed and resumed journey. Now , it seems due to powerful diesel locomotives corresponding changes have been made. Thanks 4k for your upload . I would like to know if these videos are available for sale .
I really enjoyed your videos your narration are amazing I am 20 years old and I hope to be a filmmaker like you :) travel the world I loved your videos thank you and hope to see more videos :)

I followed your video before I made my plan to visit Ooty. I got some interest and followed your path and choose to have my dinner at Earl's Secret. It was really an amazing experience. Thank you sir. Dhannyabad.
Love your travel videos..just on this one, you said you travelled from Delhi to Coimbatore, but the initial aerial view looked like Mumbai airport, and not Delhi, thought would ask you!
Do you post details of hotels, guest houses and tour companies you use throughout your trips? would be really helpful for people who want to retrace your steps.
Hi There can you tell me what camera make you used to shoot the location it looks so natural. i felt like as if im also travelling with you. great work.... thxs a mill...
Hi, a superb video on Ooty aka Udhagamandalam. Thanks. In 20.45 mts, it is stated that it has Narrow Gauge Locos. A correction here. Nilgiri Mountain Railways is the only Mountain Railway in India that runs on a Meter Gauge. For your kind information.
Many thanks, i wonder if we met when i was there? Your staff were excellent and apologies for the mistake, I will place a correction in the description. I have also filmed both the Darjeeling and Kalka Shimla Railwals if you would like to see at xscion.org. Once again many thanks both for the comment and the railway! Paul
No need to apologise, Mr. Paul. Overall, it was a wonderful video. I was overwhelmed and am sure that it will intrigue the non-visitors to drop in at Ooty. I thought of correcting a small mistake. That's it. I feel having missed opportunity of meeting you in person. I am overwhelmed by your lavish praise of my colleagues. Thanks a lot. All the best.
Many thanks, I tried to contact a colleague of yours just after I made the video, he was a singer and gave me his card and email, but he never replied, and I fear he never received the email. I will try to find his card. He was actually on the video. Paul
mtp_vasudevan@gmail.com Was his email so I presume that was his name. Thank you for your time and comments. If you know him please tell him of the video, he is on it. He and his colleagues were very kind to us. Paul
your video encouraged me to visit ooty once in a life. great video Sir. wondering about the Niligiri mountain railway ticket must be pre booked or you can get it instantly at the station?.
