I bought one of these in August and love it so much that I have been doing all my laundry in it ever since! Even though I have an electric washing machine. Used it this morning, in fact, did some bras, underwear, several blouses, socks and tights. Yesterday I did the King size bed sheets (one sheet at a time) and the day before I did the bath towels.

I just wanted to thank you for your review! I just got mine in and the latch on the top was hard to close and I was worried that I was going to break it. Then I saw how hard you had to push to close it so I watched the position you had it in when you put the latch down and followed suit and I was able to close it! I love you tube reviews for so many reasons!!

I’m so happy you were able to figure it out! The suction lid takes a little pressure to close and open, but that’s probably the reason why it has never leaked! Haha It’s actually a very sturdy little drum.

I think that it would be better if you don't rotate it too fast, because when you rotate it too fast both the laundry & water gets pushed to either end & held there by centrifugal force throughout the entire wash. By going a little slower, the laundry is constantly "bounced" around from one end to the other, so that there is more agitation of the water & clothes, resulting in a better wash.

You got my sub because you recommended going straight to the manufacturer. Amazon, Walmart, while convenient and cheap are killing local small businesses. I have not used Amazon in almost two years. Walmart has proven more difficult to boycott for me. Buy local.

SUBSCRIBED! Wonderful content, intelligent, clarity, no silliness or needy attention-getting, systems thinker, informative, fun presentation all of it! I have a Wonderwash coming from a known & good tiny/alternative house seller on Amazon in a few days, and I have wanted one for 8 years! Here's hoping my aging skinny old lady arm can crank it well enough to spin some of the water out at the end after the rinse lol 😅 And need to figure out how to reverse it so I can use my other arm too... or else I'm going to look lopsided with one overdeveloped arm like a guy who's been lifting lots of pints in a pub! 😁

What a bargain! Yeah, I do find that you need to do minimum two rinses (depending on how soiled/dirty the laundry is and how much detergent you used). It’s a little trial and error until you find your groove!

You are very welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video. The company definitely says not to use BOILING water, as the body of the keg is pressurized. If you still want to purchase it, my recommendation would be to pre-soak the cloth diapers in boiling water in a separate bucket first, and then use a cold to mild hot/lukewarm water for the actual Wonder Wash spins. Hope that makes sense!

Put it on the edge of your kitchen sink and it will grip better on the counter rather than a tub base that probably isn't flat on the edges.
@TheGretelScarlett
@TheGretelScarlett Год назад
Great suggestion, but we don’t have a kitchen like that. Hopefully you do! Our tub is flat and suctions well, but the slipping is related to detergent running in the bathtub. It’s been an easy fix for us and we are super used to it now. 😊

This product doesn't allow you to wring out the clothes, making it unuseful. Water needs to be able to drain while you're spinning it and you cannot do that with this, so the clothes just sit in water. You can drain the water after you're done spinning but not while. They should have gone with a design similar to the wring out machines for bathing suits in pool restrooms.
@TheGretelScarlett
@TheGretelScarlett 5 месяцев назад
That’s why I bought the Ninja spin dryer alongside this purchase. You can also see that review on my channel. I place the wet clothes directly into the spinner and it spins out all the water. Check it out if you like! :)
@maineapple52
@maineapple52 Год назад
Looking at the contour of your tub, the bottom might be too rounded. You might have to turn the suction cups a little (little nubs on the suction cups should face out). Or it could be the cleaner you used. It may have caused a film on the tub??? Manufacturer suggests 1 turn per second. You need to hear the clothes sloshing around. ;)

Just have a question. Is the issue regarding hot water due to the danger if it spills, is it because it would damage the product or because the product won't work with hot water?
@TheGretelScarlett
@TheGretelScarlett 2 года назад
The body of the Wonder Wash is based on a pressurized/vacuum system. When you fill it up and lock the lid, it is suctioned closed. From the instruction booklet, they do not recommend boiling water. You could use warm/hot water, but it's a safety issue and you must wait for the tub to cool down before releasing the suction lid. The instructions say "Do not use boiling water. Do not release the pressure lid on the machine after washing if the machine is still hot, as a vacuum can form when the machine cools down." Hope that helps.

The electric washers with spinners are all made in China. I had the Giantex it lasted 1 month. So I tried the Zeny and it leaked like a sieve. So I tried the single tub versions and they would still leak. Stick with the WonderWash or the Breathing Mobile Washer (my favorite and only $38).
@TheGretelScarlett
@TheGretelScarlett 2 года назад
This is great information to have! I had no idea that those products may have leakage issues. There were a tonne of reviews that were great, but a decent amount had truly horrible problems. Things like products not working after 2 days, no way to send back, communication issues with customer service, etc. I have been cranking this little WonderWash for weeks now, and it's holding up really well! I will definitely check out the Breathing Mobile Washer. :)

I have one comment after the items are washed ...do you then have to hand squeeze the water out just asking ..as see on like the electric ones had a small spinner?
@TheGretelScarlett
@TheGretelScarlett Год назад
Thanks for your comment! :) The items are definitely still wet/soaking wet, even after draining the water out of the keg. I leave the items in the keg for about 5-10mins after draining completely, then transfer straight into my Ninja spinner (see me other review on that spinner/dryer). I don't necessarily need to wring them out by doing that. If you are going straight from the Wonder Wash keg to a laundry line to dry, yes you will need to hang wring a bit! :) Hope that helps!

@TheGretelScarlett
@TheGretelScarlett 10 месяцев назад
Hey! Thanks for your question... by base, do you mean the little pipe underneath? If so, no you can't. When the long pipe is inserted, it's the only was to open the valve in order to drain the water. You can't spin the barrel with that pipe attached. Also, if the valve was to remain open and you spun the barrel, water would go everywhere. hehe I've found one of the best ways to get maximum water out and speed up the process is to open the lid, place your hand over the opening to stop all of the items from slipping out, slowly tip the barrel to one side and let majority of the water pour out. Then I return the barrel to the normal position, place the pipe on, and let the remainder of the water towards the bottom drain out from the base. Hope that helps!

Hi! A great question with no real answer. :( The Laundry Alternative's instruction booklet does not specify the temperatures to use. From a previous comment reply, I replied with the following information, but it definitely doesn't help on giving you are max temp number! From the instruction booklet, they do not recommend boiling water. You could use warm/hot water, but it's a safety issue and you must wait for the tub to cool down before releasing the suction lid. The instructions say "Do not use boiling water. Do not release the pressure lid on the machine after washing if the machine is still hot, as a vacuum can form when the machine cools down." If the bottom of the tub is textured to prevent slipping that might interfere with suction. Probably tighter on a countertop.
@TheGretelScarlett
@TheGretelScarlett Год назад
You could be right! However, in case anyone was wondering, the bottom of our tub is not textured, and it still moves around! It's a lot to do with the detergent running underneath the product creating a slippery surface. It's been no issues having to deal with. We are so used to it now, that it hardly slips because we often spin the machine quite gently and use more time to let the clothing soak these days. You could absolutely use this on a counter-top, however, we do not have an appropriate wet-safe counter-top area in our apartment. :) Good luck!

I got one of these when I was a waiter in college. I would defy you to work a night shift at a busy restaurant and bar on a college campus and NOT get stains and spills on your shirt, especially when we had to wear white shirts. I would get home from work, throw my work clothes in my "PowerWash" (that's what it used to be called) and there wasn't ONE stain that didn't come out. It was the best money I spent to keep my shirts clean. Loved it.

I have a Wonder Wash. It gets my clothes cleaner faster than hand washing. There are many reasons why someone would purchase this product. Not everyone can wash by hand due to some sort of disability, but they can still turn this crank. Maybe busy moms don't want to leave sinks full of water because of young kids. You don't know other peoples' stories. Just because this product wasn't right for you, that doesn't mean it's not right for anyone else.
