As Christmas gifts last year, I made wooden piggy banks.

When it comes to putting in money somewhere safe, a piggybank made of wood is certainly not the best choice. But, it is still a very delighful piece of work to watch.

My small tin can safe is also not that secure, but it's also mainly to put changes to empty our pockets. I don't thing anyone would put all his or her fortune in this and I would certainly not encourage them to do this also😉

It is indeed very sensible. Nonetheless, I love these piggybanks with their combination locks. Woodworking technology has really come a long way. 👍@@LgosseuxDbois-TheWoodpecker

Yes it does. Some people think it's a bad thing, I disagree. Once we were using rocks as tool, today no one would think of using a rock to make furniture, we evolved and now more modern tools are to our disposition, not using them is not evolving. But I must admit that if I'm stuck in the wood and I need to drive a stake into the ground and I don't have a nice hammer I WILL use a rock 😉

I deeply admire your work, but I don't really enjoy the work that a computer program actually does. Today, almost everyone has computer-controlled machines, but few people know clever hands and super tricks with wood. My grandson can do it too, but I have to sharpen his chisels and planes, as well as other handiwork.

You're right, but what I Iike is that for things that I aspire to sell, the computer can work in the background while I'm making the finishing touch or sand what needs to be sanded. Also a lot of things I do with my CNC are things that are impossible, at least for me, to do by hand, like what I mostly use it for; make intricate carvings. But most of this piggy bank can be done by hand in 8 or more hours and selling something that takes 8 hours to do at $30 is quite ridiculous....
