Samira Ahmed interviews two of the hosts of Channel 4's 90s magazine show, which - with its mix of anarchic interviews, outrageous stunts and live music from the best bands of the decade - came to epitomise the 90s and proved influential to British TV.

The Word was and.. it pains me to say this as it makes me feel old... My generation... Loved that show... Friday student nights... Father Ted and then The Word... What a night of TV... Later on BBC2 before The Day Today... Terry Christian is great... Always enjoyed his work and LOVE Katie Puckrick.. an unashamed crush! Fantastic interview and thank you for posting!

I was fifteen when I first saw her on the word. My voice instantly became an octave deeper. Superbly talented presenter and a complete and utter smokeshow of a lady.

I sat behind K.P. ( Katie was with a male friend) at a Russ Meyer film ( Vixen me thinks..) at the BFI in that decade.

Terry was great on the Word. Wouldn't have been the same without him. Mark was the annoying one, took it too far with some guests. His treatment of Hammer was unprofessional and mean. Great Interview, good to see Katie and Terry going strong. Why isn't The Word available to watch or own on any format. Until RU-vid, the show has had little exposure for such a classic. Would be nice if the shows were uploaded to RU-vid in decent quality too (480 up) via channel 4. Maybe one day soon.
