Absolutely right. Its disgusting that they do the same crap like Lego. I mean as an addition to a controller ok but not smartphone only. Old smartphones not beeing supported in the future any more, bugs, problems with different systems ... the list goes on anD on. And when they stop developing the app any more the whole system is basically dead. And relying on fans to dissect the thing and macgyver something that works... nope. Good idea torpedoed by smartphone crap.

@@Arkar79 Yes, it's not even open source, so we can't write our own app after they discontinued it.

Needs a controller in my opinion. Otherwise the app needs to be solid and that could mean a massive investment of time for Carrera to keep on top of Android and iOS.

We don't know now how much modification is possible, but it will definitely have tuning like swapping engines and tuning them. Most likely you can choose between tires and things like that. There will be simulated weather (if you want to) as far as I know, so you will have to change tires. You also have to warm up tires and have an eye on the tire wear.

I want to drift, i want to drive free, I don’t want too climb over the track cause the car ha jumped out …it is the perfect product, but I want to steer and to accelerate how it should be and not to hold a smartphone in my hands. By the way, I also don’t want my kids to hold this thing in their hands !

@@AURELIUSxx so keep any Carrera Product in good condition and have fun do "Carrera-racing". The approach here is Something the Game-Console Intellivision Amico tried to reach. Bring all generations together having fun while do gaming.

It does not need a controller to succeed. There is another Product (DR!FT) from the Inventors on the German Market, even more realistic than Hybrid and it also has smartphone controls. There is just a little group in the community that really wishes for a controller, most of them are not that young and simply don't want to accept the change. The controls on smartphone are more than good enough and accurate to work for beginners to hardcore gamers/drivers. Of course you have to learn to control it, it is a racing simulation, not a simple RC Car.

Die App ist kostenlos, also sollte der Download kein Thema sein. Ohne Smartphone kann es nicht funktionieren weil auf dem Smartphone die KI läuft um das realistische Fahrverhalten, Reifentemperatur, Reifenverschleiß, Lenkverhalten, Kurserkennung, wählbare Fahrhilfen und vieles, vieles mehr zu ermöglichen. Außerdem ist die App natürlich auch nötig um Rennmodi, gewähltes Tuning wie verschiedene Motoren und sonstige Fahrzeugkomponenten zu wählen, die dann natürlich wieder von der KI simuliert werden müssen.

Natürlich! Wenn man für das Rennsystem eine zusätzliche Hardware produziert auf der die Software läuft. Diese muss dann natürlich zwingend erworben werden um das System nutzen zu können. Kostet dann wahrscheinlich läppische 300€ extra, dazu noch ein Controller für gut 30€. Für den Einstieg mit zwei Fahrzeugen und zwei Controllern ist man dann bei ~600€. Klingt doch viel vernünftiger find ich! 🙂 Das dieses Rennsystem (oder Rennsimulation) nicht ohne komplexer Hardware und Software funktioniert sollte hoffentlich einleuchtend sein. Ohne wären es einfach RC Autos. Wer das möchte ist mit einem Spielzeug um 40€ zufrieden und hat dann auch einen tollen Controller mit dem er dann auch ganz doll zufrieden ist. Wer Smartphones verteufelt weil die Dinger heutzutage ja schon prinzipiell zu viel im Alltag verwendet werden und der Meinung ist das früher sowieso alles besser war wird mit diesem System nicht glücklich werden. Genau das Thema haben wir seit Jahren beim großen Bruder von Hybrid (DR!FT) Da gibt's auch eine kleine Gruppe von Leuten die gegen die verwendung von Smartphones als Plattform protestieren.

Ich bin seit Jahren vom großen Bruder DR!FT begeistert. Der größte Reiz daran ist eben was die Entwickler mit "Hybrid gaming" meinen. Eine Simulation am Computer zu fahren ist natürlich eine feine Sache für sich, aber das ganze in die Realität zu holen ist für viele eine ganz andere Erfahrung mit seinen eigenen Vorzügen. Es ist vergleichbar mit dem spielen eines Computerspiels und dem spielen der Brettspiel/Tabletop Variante davon. Einige in der DR!FT Community sind dann sogar einen Schritt weiter gegangen und haben die Autos mit einer kleinen Kamera mit Sender versehen und fahren so mit VR Brille in FPV.

It will be just around 1:50. Sturmkind wanted to make unlicensed fantasy toy cars with 1:64 scale and it wasn't even a Problem on the technical side, but finally they increased the scale a little because now that they are going with real licensed cars, (thanks to the collaboration with Carrera) they want to have more details and overall nicer models. In a stream for the Kickstarter bakers the Inventors and a guy from Carrera explained that this is pretty much the smallest scale for detailed plastic models.

Here is a little clip of the first product Sturmkind has on the (sadly only German/European) Market. It is called DR!FT and has a scale of 1:43. You can see the insane accuracy of the AI simulating the real driving behavior. The AI and the Application for Carrera Hybrid uses more or less the same system, so you can imagine the quality of the driving simulation Carrera Hybrid is going to have. You could probably drive it in the track, but the functionality would be lost… the car ‘reads’ the track surface to know where it is and help itself stay on the track like a slot car.

Natürlich ist das für einige leider ein Thema. Ohne Smartphone würde es aber leider nicht funktionieren, denn die Software ist sehr komplex und simuliert ein realistisches Fahrverhalten. Die kleinen Autos fahren nicht wie Spielzeugautos, sondern wir ihre großen Vorbilder. Ohne Smartphone müsste für das Rennsystem ein eigener kleiner Computer entwickelt werden, der dann natürlich auch gekauft werden muss um das System zu nutzen. Das wäre leider sehr teuer. 🫤 Ohne die verwendung des Smartphones wäre so ein Produkt quasi unmöglich zu vermarkten, weil man dann für den Einstieg wahrscheinlich mit ~500€ rechnen muss. (2 Fahrzeuge und Strecke kosten im Einsteigerset vorraussichtlich ~180€, wenn man dazu noch zwei Controller und einen kleinen Computer kaufen müsste...) Ich kann mir vorstellen das die Entwicklung in einiger Zeit vielleicht zulässt ein einziges Smartphone für alle Fahrzeuge als Plattform zu nutzen, dann benötigt man "nur" einen zusätzlichen Controller pro Fahrzeug/Spieler. Momentan wäre das aber schwierig, weil heutige Smartphones nicht so einfach mehrere Bluetooth Verbindung ermöglichen... Naja man kann ja hoffen.

No you didn’t. Just because the track looks similar to anki it doesn’t make it the same or even comparable. Anki has lane changing and weapons where as this is a fully controlled rc car that mimics a real race car. It’s pretty much like playing forza/gran turismo but there’s physical car and track. The partner company, Sturmkind makes a little drift car that behaves very realistically and I can confirm since I own one

@@CarreraToysOfficial well, on hybrid you have positiv and negativ sides, positiv, u can finally drive outside of the track, cars look realistic, typical Carrera design. Negative: rotating platform, Slow, can't drift like real, all of them is a simulation u need a A dusty and hair-free track... A household with animals makes it harder, before u drive, u have to clean. Look what rc cars can do, they can drift like real cars and don't need a rotating platform, they have A real chassis, the better it is, the more real the car behaves, logic, for drift u need power or a platform what simulate this all... Well hybrid is not bad, but not better like sloting, u have one eye on your car and one of the smartphone, for young kids, 5-10, impossible cause many have not The feeling, quickly become nervous and swipe like crazy over the mobile phone display. With a proper remote control, like real rc cars, younger children can also play with it more easily... Meine Idee, The whole concept should be set up in the same way as on the slot track, you have tracks that you can put together, but with a rough surface, Twice as wide, but without rails... All features what u need, optional u can look on the display how many rounds you have and on which position... You know what I mean? A combo like from digital and real rc and the track is optional, If you can make floors out of it, that would be great, but the track has to be stiff for that... Hope my reaction give you new ideas, Keep up the good work team carrera, you're on the right way, but leave out the rotating platform... 😁👍

@@CarreraToysOfficial das Augenmerk liegt dabei leider mehr auf das Handy als auf der Bahn. Somit könnte man die Bahn wahrscheinlich auch weg lassen und alles über das Handy machen. Schont die Umwelt und ist genau so langweilig denn skills werden dafür absolut nicht gebraucht evt. Taktik.

Langsamer kann auch besser sein! Kommt eher auf das Feeling an. So wie bei der digitalen Eisenbahn...sehr langsam und realistisch!

Ich fahre schon seit über 20 jahren Carrera und mein größter wunsch von Carrera währe ein Wireless Controller in Gun form wie vom Frankenslot für die digitale bahn den der daumendrücker Controller verkrampft die handn nach einiege zeit und wir Männer haben auch große Hände. Und das umschalten von Spuren ist sehr schwierig mit dem knopf bei der Geschwindigkeit. Das haben schon viele die ich kenne damit zu kämpfen. Allso so ein Gun Controller währe heut zu tage ein super teil von Carrera.Sonst ist die Carrera Digital ein traum und das wir es immer bleiben für Groß und Klein. 👍🚘🏁
