The guy didn't "hack" into it. I myself stumbled into the Wordle's JS code file by accident while looking around the network connections that the website was making. All 10,000 possible words are there, as well as a list of over 2000 words for the next, well, six years. It'll probably get patched once NYT gets access to the game though. Edit: I thought it was patched, but in fact, it's just drowned out by NYT's trackers, the list is definitely still there lol.

@@LunaLilliePad as far as I know 1. Wordle didnt exist years ago 2 .3bl1br never made the information theory video years ago 3. Salet is a very uncommon word and it's unlikely this guy ran the EXACT same tests as 3bl1br did to get the exact same answers 4. Salet is best for the computer yo use since it knows the best answer and we dont (according to 3bl1br)

Although the theoretical best starter is “salet.” In order for you to guess it in 3.4 guesses on average, you would need to also know the best second word for every single possible outcome of “salet.”and then memorize and know the 2000-ish possible wordle answers. so it’s not really feasible unless you’re a robot.

I find that Vowels are easy to get and dont help in finding the wprd as much as consonants I use STONY followed by PRIDE all the major consonants and if the vowels dont hit its very likely an A. If i dont get consonants its most likely a wh, ch or ck. So WATCH is my third word for info fishing My only loss was to Mummy. I was totally stumped by that one!

Random kinda-unrelated-but-still-related tidbit: Wordle only allows 6 attempts, so as long as you get 1 or 2 letters, you can arrange in ways exploring more letters to converge onto the solution. However, for Quordle, which makes you simultaneously guess 4 words in a total of 9 common attempts, the same tactic betrays. Cuz everytime you try to focus on one word, you're betraying the other three. So the best way for quordle is to use 2 or 3 attempts to simply understand the letters involved, and then spend pointed efforts towards each of the words. SPUNK, RATIO and WHELM are the 3 I use. They use up almost all common letters except D, and each letter is unique, so 15 letters get over within just 3 tries. Not very effective for Wordle though cuz sometimes the words miss for want of a single letter when there are multiple such possibilities. - > Share, Shame, Shade for instance.

Salet. Isn’t the best word. It’s Soare and there are many different words to try after it depending on which words are green yellow and white. It’s difficult to memorise(probably impossible) but if you just have the thing open on a second tab then it’s pretty easy to use

best wordle strategy: guess 2 words with every vowel across both, and as many differnt consonants as possible. example: boars and juice. you might get a consonant or 2, but you will have all the vowels you need.

I use a three-word, 15 letter opening. Never lost a real wordle. I had like a 99% success rate on a Wordle clone that had unlimited play but also an expanded answer list that included plurals, the only ones I lost were the _[vowel]_ES or _[vowel}_ED structures which have way too many options left over at guess #4.

honestly it’s so easy finding the words for the next days. Legit double, click on source code and scroll down to the very bottom until u see something with “main” in it. Click on that and scroll down a bit until u find a list of words. Voilà you have found your list now you just have to figure out where you are currently.
