Looks fun, I need something to do next winter. I just got my Talaria Sting this week!! I appreciate all of your tests and reviews- you were a big influence in my purchase over the Surron LBX, I mainly want to ride trails 👍👍 I would definitely be interested to learn more about winter gear for noobs.
Pretty cool. Definitely looks like the front ski is made for hardpack, you would need the larger ski from a dirt snowbike to stay on top of that fluff snow !
Sat on one of these last summer at an expo in Sweden (Company is Swedish isnt it?), wasnt able to ride obviously but it felt comfy! Great video as always!
French company with subsidiaries in Sweden and the US. You sat on one of my bikes at the Expo. Glad you liked it. Come back to Sweden during winter, so you can try it!
That cabin door reminds me of the door I built for my friend’s cabin outside of Fairbanks, Ak. Lots of insulation is good! Motorcycles are safer than 4-wheelers and I’d say these are safer than snowmobiles. Too bad Ken Block wasn’t riding one of these :^(
Great channel and content, keep it up. Ruffian Send -E next maybe? You mentioned 2 hrs on one battery, did you mean range on both batteries (one charge)?
Probably because of the lithium battery self igniting and burning like a Roman candle issue that is actually fairly common with ANY electric vehicle. This issue is widely suppressed because they want to ban combustion engines. There are transportation companies who REFUSE to ship electric cars for this very reason and once these self ignite you cannot put the fire out. MANY homes have burned down due to EV’s parked in the garage.
Hi, we just got ours and as soon as it arrived, the company went bankrupt. It does not have keys or batteries... We`d need some pictures and specifications so we can at least try to make it work. Would you help us, please? Zuzana
IF you can get a reliable kit. IF you know how to repair all those moving parts that will break. IF you can figure out a way to mount an extra battery. Moonbikes are dedicated to snow. It wasn't a tough choice for me to choose a Moonbike over a Sur Ron with a kit. And the price is pretty close when all is said and done
I have 130miles on my track&go kit on my surron. Running 12kw. Works like a charm, so little moving parts and so little to be worried about. The track is a bit narrow, so for deep powder it's no good, semi packed windblown snow is fine. Trails are awsome. Just not fresh deep snow.
@Electric Cycle Rider They are pretty sweet machines. I own one of their gas versions, built like a tank. Custom designed and built right here in the states, New Hampshire. Good group of guys. You should hit them up. I'm certain they would appreciate the publicity.
We should stop thinking of making noise as fun, because all this noise is very bad for all the wildlife and it's a nuisance that can impact their population a lot, so i am glad these electric snow bike can be fun and at the same time preserve these places from loud 2 stroke motor sound.
In my area animals are not really sensitive to noise. Elk hang out near the highway you have to chase deer off the shooting range. Animals in the mountains are going to be used to snowmobiles. And in deep snow most large game animals travel down to lower elevations with less snow to have more to eat
There are unfortunately downsides to being quiet in the wild. Collisions with and attacks by wildlife that you may startle. I have nearly hit a dear crossing the the road on an electric scooter at night. The deer was freaked out and could not even get footing on the pavement. I came within 5ft of collision.
Moonbikes are only good in flats with 5" to 10" of powder; they are not good in the mountains. This is a far cry from a snowmobile. Horrible on hard-pack or ice; actually dangerous. They get stuck in over 10" of powder. This is just a cheap electric mountain bike with a ski. If you want a real snowmobile bike, then get a Talaria Sting MX4 ($4k) with a TrackNGo ($3k), 100% better. My kids, wife, and I tried both and ended up ditching the Moonbike and waiting to take turns on the Talaria MX4 with TrackNGo. Night and Day difference. Moonbike staff lied to me and said it would make it to my cabin. Nope! Ran out of juice and it wouldn't make it up hills. They said they would allow me to return it if it didn't. Nope! they lied. Really bad company and really bad product = perfect recipe for bankruptcy. This is a joke of a product unless you are on the flats with perfect 5" to 10" untracked powder.
I got a test drive on a Moon Bike up by Brighton in Utah. It was a tremendous disappointment. I think only people who have never been on a snowbike or snowmobile and only go on flat fairly dense snow would enjoy this machine. I have had several snowbikes. Including a little tiny Ruffian. I have had several different brands of electric bikes as well. Don't buy a Moonbike.
