Hey Antony, I've watched both your video and Nojiri's all in all there is a huge amount of interesting info that I've enjoyed listening to, Thanks and keep it up!
I’ve not commented on any of your videos I’ve watched on this subject but I’m buzzin’ you do this work!!! I grew up in the 80’s, so; you know. I thought I would never have the opportunity see read the words of real scrolls (I have 5 or 6 of your books now)and find out the real truth of the subject. So nice one Antony! Also on a more personal note are you a “Moonraker”? I am, sounds like you might be. Not important but just thought I’d ask. Keep up the good work. ✌️*❤️=😀
It’s just I saw the video when you researched Natori’s retirement and you said about “cheapside” which is an area of Middleton and how you talk so made me think you might know the area. Have you ever heard of ninja pills/tablets that can be used to feed an operative in the field? I heard something on a Terry Jones documentary that was interesting and could be used for this purpose. I’ll try and send you a link to the documentary. I’d really like to hear your thoughts on it.
Enjoying listening on sometimes and looking forward to another book when I'm ready to broaden horizons. I hadn't noticed, but do you share any contexts about their physical training only? Besides from your own instructions.
Also I would like to point out the oldest stuff is going to be chinese. Even the buddhist looking stuff. They were chinese agents. Loyal to the ideology of Chinese Imperialism bringing barbaric Japanese culture into a submissive state. The Shogunate became very aware of this even believing Shinobi to be enemy spies when it was no longer the case. Everyone who could counter the Samurai terrorist state and maintain victory for the common people while shielding them from retribution. These people were collected into what became shinobi. The use of buddhist monks as cover (although it was authentic buddhism) was a form of shock psychological warfare. As in, "how dare you hit a monk?" A bit funny these days.
In my opinion, the world's oldest ninjutsu began waaaay before the word ninjutsu, or even Japan or China was born. It started when someone first tried to distract/trick/sabotage/spy/assassinate somebody for a higher motive.
It would be nice to have the whole compilation of the Gunpo Jiyoshu translated instead of just the three volumes that we have now (there's twelve volumes total).
As shinobi no mono (not going to dispute with anyone unless you want to dispute that you are catholic or brushed your teeth as a child too) Theres no reason to keep japanese ancient nonja secrets. The japanese ninpo families know this including some bujinkan top shihan. Hattori Hanzo was was like the dread pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride. At least 3-4 generations of Hazos existed. You can say he had a son by that name, but that the possibility of the last and the first being related is nearly impossible. I will also say the Japanese believe the ninja were completely wiped out in one campaign. Which I think you know by looking at even more extreme similarities such as the execution and hunting out of christianity; they failed and the surviving sect remained hidden until the USA took the reigns over Japan. But remember these people were beaten into submission for generations by the great great grand babies of those who bloodied their tantos... so to speak. I realy like what you are doing. The truth is the mosy important thing to true shinobi. Otherwise their is no reason to cut through to the other side... to persevere. Thank you.
Tokugawa was entrusted with Toyotomi's son and all the land and everything that he owned. Tokugawa killed him and took over Japan.tje Toyotomi clan invested in the Shinobi and their mane forces were ninja.
But hanzo watanabe (hattori) was not maybe even born then ieyasu was born 1543 and was way older than hes later servant. And iga ryu isnt hattori ryu, but some call ot momochi ryu according to sanday momochi. But how on earth the doc stated western years? Since the times were written according the current ruler.
So what is bujikan and genbukan? Are they just jujutsu they are calling ninpo taijutsu. Or is it not even jujutsu, just karate mixed with judo or something
lol typical Japanese oji (old man) ehhhhhhhhhhhh Usooooooooo!!!!..... why? No answer. This is for everything not just history. Been living here for 11 years and i know oh too well ;)
I come from the hisa clan it is the Toyotomi side of the sogan who took over Japan that Tokugawa killed my ancestor a 9 year old boy to become a sogan. Toyotomi clan is where my mother came from. She was a samurai's daughter and learned the arts you talk about. Who in turn taught me. All you know is recorded history and you've taken that on and made it your reality. Please stop disrespecting others and claim you know things. Paper and scrolls do not make reality.
Fascinating that the actual translator and researcher gets second billing. Is it because she is a woman? Or because she is Japanese? Better sources for ninjutsu research at Mie university.
Why? Ninja do not write scrolls. Never have, never will. The ninja train their minds. That is their book. Just because someone wrote something down during such and such time, doesn't make it true. Not now, not 1000 years ago. Proof is always in the pudding. What you have are scrolls written by samurai, not a ninja. So, 1560 because the author suggested it, huh? So the ninjutsu clans had a lifespan of 22 years, when the clans were wiped out by the Iga invasion by Lord Oda Nobunaga or are you going to say that there was only one ninja clan, too? It's also funny that Tokugawa Ieyasu was present when Lord Nobunaga was betrayed and killed by one of his generals and then ran off with Hattori Hanzo and smuggled out of the area by Iga ninja. Think there might be a connection there? Or do you know any Japanese history at all? There is good reason not to trust anything from Iga ninja. They supported the tyranical emperor, which real ninja were fighting against. Wonder why the only thing 'officially' written about the greatly feared ninja, is on Hattori Hanzo and Iga ninja, during the reign of Tokugawa Ieyasu? Think people! It's just controlled propaganda to lead and keep people away from the truth. Everything else about ninjutsu was suppressed by the shogun. It was a forbidden topic. Even in historical accounts of the period, some latter samurai had questioned why they needed to carry a wakizashi, though it was law. It seemed useless in the later Edo period. They had forgotten their own history. Ninja assassins knew why they carried them. To combat a ninja weapon that they once feared. The subject was forbidden by samurai. Godspeed!
@@iacomuslycanthropus7466 You understand that you have been brainwashed to think that. Right? Ninja are nothing like samurai. Pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum. Different codes, different weapons, different tactics, different way of life and lived apart from one another and fought each other given opportunity. Ninja were despised by samurai and seen as dirty, thieving scum, cause they saw no honor in the things that ninja did. If a samurai did such low down dirty tricks like the ninja used, they would be beheaded by their lord. Depending on the lord, of course. Some were known to hire ninja to do their dirty work against other lords, but that was kept under wraps. Don't be fooled into believing that they sung kumbaya together as the SJW Anthony Cummings would have you believe.
Who is Southern Night? He calls himself "Batman" and uses martial arts and samurai to try to sell diet programs. Yes, you too can get fit with a 7 second workout, according to him. HAHAHAHA! You saying it takes a fraud to know one? Although I agree with some of the unsafe things Batman points out, he stretches the truth to suit his narrative. For instance, look closely and you see that he uses a student training with wooden sword as evidence for poor safety without clarifying. He claims errors in Cummins' translations but can't seem to find any when asked. Seems to have trouble even spelling the guy's name right here. Where's the proof for what you said in your comment here, Batman? "No, they didn't write because I said so. No, they can't be samurai because I said so." Where's your proof? Other than screaming propaganda with a tin foil hat on your head? Other than saying it doesn't align with how you personally see things? Cummins isn't alone in what he says, he's just one of the loudest and probably most fallible because he's up against MA guys and that's an area he's weak in, but he's come down from trying to teach that stuff himself at least. Leaves it to MA people.
