The world in 2050 is a future filled with amazing technology. By 2050, artificial intelligence and virtual reality will be ubiquitous. Quantum computing and advanced prosthetics will rise. We will move around the world with Hyperloop technology, evtols, electric cars, self driving vehicles, and electric/supersonic airplanes. Our packages will be delivered by drones and our power will come from renewable energy. There will be a permanent base on the Moon, humans on Mars, and space hotels in orbit. While our food consumption transforms, vertical farming and biotechnology will rise. Stem cells and CRISPR technologies will regenerate injuries and cure diseases. Lastly, we will battle climate change by removing carbon directly from the atmosphere. The future is exciting!

That would be nice in fact if they have robots in their bodies in their minds can control a lot of things like oh say some say we will then they have no damn excuse but to fix the damn ice cream machines.. When I work there many a year back I had a problem getting ice cream then I can't imagine what it's like today working in a place like that when a lot of the machines break down. if it was something like oh the grill or say the fry Hopper God forbid anything like that might happen but oh if it's the ice cream machine no one really seems to give a damn probably because fewer people actually ask for ice cream. And they usually have to give it away if it's a small child and give it away for half price with an old person.

I'm no pessimist and I believe the human race is all-in-all headed in a fortunate direction but I think this prediction is totally off the charts considering that real revolutions are very rare and unlikely and we mostly progress through steady but rather minor advancements on those very revolutions. For instance: The transportation sector honestly hasn't had a major revolution since the introduction of airlines in 1914, 108 years ago. We're still driving around in cars, some of them almost miraculously still have a clutch and a gearbox but we like to be impressed how the trunk lid can close automatically now. Or think about the internet, which has been around for 53 years now already and most people still hardly use 10% of the capacity it could offer to them. Same with bitcoin which is been around for 13 years already and you still can't pay shit with it. The first coal power plant was invented 140 years ago and Australia, one of the most advanced countries in the world, still almost entirely runs on it and Germany want's to reinvest in it now. When it comes to medicine the biggest breakthrough we ever had was the discovery of antibiotics, and to this day the mortality of non-infectious diseases hasn't declined significantly at all yet. Or think about war: Besides all the innovations, the war in Ukraine (by an alleged superpower) is still fought with explosives essentially launched by modern versions of canons. No self-aiming, self-maintaining, non-metal, invisible drones that can't run out of ammunition, leveraging AI and shooting with super-fancy electromagnetic waves or whatever. No robots to replace soldiers either. On the larger picture it's hardly different from WW2, which ended 77 years ago. And now tell me that we will live on Mars, where it get's colder than in Antartica, where there's no air to breath, no water to drink, no food to eat and deadly radiation due to a lack of thick atmosphere, in just 28(!) years from now xD

I was alive 30 years ago (in 1990), and one thing I can tell you is that it's not just big things that will change, but lots of little things too. For example, I'm lactose intolerant, and I remember when packaged products didn't even have ingredient lists/nutrition labels (which didn't start until the mid 90s), and so it was a big guessing game as to which foods did/didn't contain dairy (or whatever allergens). In 1990 energy drinks were unheard of, you could still smoke indoors like in restaurants, there were no self flushing toilets, no automatic faucets, no self checkout kiosks...and not to mention big things like no internet, no cell phones, most cars were stick shift, had carburetors (not fuel injected), and even the Super Nintendo didn't even come out until late in 1990. But yea, it was such a different world just 30 years ago, I really can't imagine the changes that may come.

By 2050 elevators will be voice controlled so when calling the elevator you don’t even have to press the button. Also inside the elevator you don’t need to press a button to go to the floor that you want to go. Instead you can say “5th Floor Please” and the elevator will take you to the 5th Floor for you. The possible voice assistants in the elevators will include Alexa, Siri, Google etc.

Transportation & Energy might achieve these visions, or at least 75% of it. ( though I still don't believe in air-taxis for urban noise reasons ) I still don't believe in the AI part, science has been ignorant to the idea that the mind is non-material, and AI may never be as "human" as futurists suggest they would. AI might replace basic tasks like cashier, cleaners, etc., but nothing to the extent that it could replace pets.

I had a user come up to me and ask why their computer would not turn on. I go over to the desk and notice a pool of water so I immediately unplug the computer and lift it up. They're right tbh, I mean didn't we use books back then, didn't we go to the cinemas to watch a movie? Now we have internet for that, to research, to entertain ourselves, and to study for school. Back then, we go to the library to study and we have to go outside just to watch a big hit 1 hour movie now we have netflix and internet for that. Plus, touch screen phones grew so fast in just 10 years.

@@kevin-cx3ro yeah like Gen Z is the first generation that has never grown up without the Internet, the next generation of after Gen Alpha will not know what it was like to not have VR , shit DVD have been out for a bit now and everyone’s moving to streaming platforms, Cable and Blockbuster are gone, Spotify is the number 1 music app, streaming apps like Netflix, Disney + , Amazon Prime and others. There are less kids who have button phones as their first, people are more likely to pay for their food at a machine then rather going to the cashier.

Yeah... Nuclear fusion reactors before the end of the 21st century is pretty ambitious, and not super likely unless quantum computing and AI are married to solve problems like how to achieve nuclear fusion on any meaningful and useful scale. Then there's the issue of rushing into our grave by not putting safeguards in place for what could even happen if AI turns against humans. I think a lot of what futurists are predicting for the next 30 years are way too optimistic in some cases, like nuclear fusion, and not at all as optimistic as they should be for others like a self driving car network.
