Imagine how bowser feels, he finally makes a plan to get the princess, him and his kids pull it off, then 25 minutes later mario makes his castle fall on him.
Great video, very informative man, you clearly put a lot of work into this. Glad I caught this live and could explain the most revolutionary strat in the whole game - unbiased opinion of course.
For anyone that sees this, there's a random thing that I'd like to clarify since I randomly stumbled upon this video again today. To start out January the WR was Fade's 24:29 (mid 22:22 without loads.) On the 5th of January, Uvideo gets a 24:35 that most assumed had tied Fade's 24:29 since his loads were thought to be slower in that run than they actually were and Uvideo's splits said that WR was 24:35 with his loads. Fade was one of those people, so that's why he said "broke the tie" in his 24:28 popoff four days later (35:50). Small technicality that I felt like clearing up, and if you're seeing this Conner: really nice vid, glad to see it getting more attention.
@@Ralkila a load in this game is considered to be whenever the screen goes black during an any% run, since almost all of those transitions are inconsistent in the time that they take
@@kayssbm2142 It was pretty bad, hence the quotes around speed run, and think my time was around 42:00 minutes. This was one of my first attempts. My most recent attempt has a time of around 37:25 which puts me higher up but still pretty low. I make lots of mistakes and don't take the fastest route every time but If I did I could probably chop it down to around 30:00 minutes. Refining a route like the ones demonstrated in the video takes lot of practice but if you were to do it a lot I'm sure someone like me or you could complete the run with a good time.
This is some high quality stuff! For a while I thought i was watching Summoning Salt. I very rarely willingly watch 40-minute videos all the way through, but this was definitely worth it.
One of the most underrated RU-vid videos i’ve ever seen, deserves at LEAST 4 Million views. Loved every second of it. I hope to see more projects like this! =)
"And that's all the information you'll ever want to hear about a goomba." Pannenkoek2012 and the Mystery Goomba in Mario 64: *Are you sure about that?*
I still remember when this video was uploaded, It had so few views, but It was so well produced, now it has 250k views and it's still growing. I'm very glad to have found your channel and being here since the beginning Congratulations dude, and good luck with this channel
WTF are you talking about? It is a pleasure to listen to Summoning Salt, while it is absolutely tedious to make out what this uploader is mumbling. But I guess it is my fault really that I am not so easily impressed by half-assed crap like the rest of you...
@@whiterottenrabbit half assed crap is what the majority of other world record history videos are, say what you will about this video but (a) this guy is clearly new to video editing and (b) at least he has his own style
@@whiterottenrabbit time for you to get a hobby or something. You spend too much time online trying to spread your misery to others. Keep your depression and your self-loathing to yourself.
Was watching summoning salts new vid, realized I’d seen it all somewhere before. His is really similar to yours and honestly I think yours is more informative
@@legrandliseurtri7495 tas timing starts from opening the game(wii remote strap screen) and also plays the entire peach's birthday cutscene The normal timing starts from pressing right in the world map to enter 1-1 and plays no peaches birthday cutscene. That is why it seems that the world record is faster than the tas but in reality the tas is quite a bit faster than the human world record
To recap any% runs in NSMB Wii: One runner for 7 years Then there were 2 runners for like 1 month Then there was one for like a year Then there were more
Just want to tell the Summoning Salt people that this video has been here for much longer than Salt's. And if your comment is a joke, then it has already been made and isn't funny in the first place.
This video is incredibly well edited, and informative. I was completely shocked when I saw the view count. You deserve way more! I hope this video becomes more popular soon :D
Wow i just looked at the Leaderboard and the best time without loads is 22m 09s 733ms, there must have been huge improvements since the video was made.
38:32 I feel like I should point out that there’s a mistake in the information given here, as the WR at the time of my 24:35 run was a low 24:29 by Fade, which was around a second faster than my run with loads removed. The 24:28 run was achieved by Fade a few days after my PB. The reason I thought my run may have been WR at the time was because the load times I was getting in previous runs were a bit worse than the 24:35. Needless to say, I wasn’t too surprised when it was retimed to be 2nd place, considering I had a 6 second time loss in 8-2.
@@pacifistichuman82649 I personally don't think so, 9 seconds is a huge amount of time, and it is most likely that any skips that save a whole 9 seconds are too incredibly difficult or already discovered.
Wow I’m really glad I found this gem, I love looking at the speedrun history of any game, hope this video get more traction because it’s really well made, and very informative.
I watched this video 2 weeks ago when I found my old wii and this game. I was actually very intrested if any people spedrun this game which was indeed true. I watched carson's video (Cool Math Games) and wanted to see who edited the video. And it was THIS GUY. The world is so small.
I agree, more detailed with more information on different strats, summoning salts video is more of an update to what has happened after this in my opinion
LOVED THIS VIDEO DUDE. I have been considering beginning speedrunning Super Mario Bros Wii, and out of coincidence, this video popped up on my RU-vid recommendations today. I also loved the little montages you did of some of the world records that were pulled off! Great video man.
Connor01 you deserve it, a very well put together video, and I’m excited to see more like it. A few months down the line I can see you having somewhere around 10,000 subscribers
@@channel_00000 what I said still stands. I know that basically everyone owns it, but again, people weren’t dying to play it. People weren’t waiting for it. There’s a difference between a popular game and a huge release
@@Teeplesexe It doesn't even say "Wii Sports Resort", it just says "Wii sports" lol. Wii sports was an insane success. Even If it did say Wii Sports Resort, it's correct. People here in Canada were actually waiting outside EB Games(Which is basically the Canadian version of GameStop) to be able to get the game.
Coming back to this video after the record had been held by Pidgey for quite a while only to have Fade come back out of nowhere a few days ago and take it back. Any% is blowing up now with Fade, Pidgey, Skippy, and Yacker all in pretty close contention to take WR off each other. Might have to make another one of these soon, Connor!
It's now July 6 2020, and a new runner not mentioned in the video, PidgeySR now holds wr at 22:20 with fade in second at 22:21 Edit: just realized they got that record today!
@@WilliamPertzer there were 2 new things implemented into runs after this video was published. a new strat in 5-3 that saves like half a second, and a much faster way of getting the 556 cycle in 5-T
I hate that these videos take so long to make; I love these style of videos, and am sad that only a few exist across multiple creators. keep up the good work!
As of a month ago, Pidgey has beaten the time without loads record, but hasn't beaten the time with loads record. The cause of this is that Pidgey is using an NTSC copy on Wii U while FadeVanity is using a PAL copy on Wii.
You don't know how it feels watching this video while workin on commissions and getting suddenly jumpscared by Compa when i decide to look up at the screen great vid btw
@@FinagleBagel you're welcome, but make sure next time you check descriptions of videos for stuff like that. Connor included a song list in the description
Just found the video and even a few minutes in can tell the quality is much higher than the competition, almost Summoning Salt level. Glad to see more content like this. Keep it up, you have a bright future!!
2:35 to skip the intro :) I do not mean disrespect, but those high school intros from the speedrunning community are getting insanely repetitive. Great video tho.
Either he hacked this, or I just have seen the biggest coincidence in my life, exactly 69,420 views on this video Edit: My goodness guys, it wasn’t hacked 😂
