The guy's confidence is amazing. I think most people would lock themselves away from embarrassment at auditioning in front of Kurt Angle with taped up boots. But he keeps it positive the whole time. He should have told them that being cheap is his gimmick.

The shoes got him; not only did they create a bad impression at the most important interview of his life, tape is expensive! He can go to Goodwill or some shit and buy a wearable pair with shoelaces rather that go through rolls and rolls of tape, which I assume he does if he practices several sessions a week and needs to tape up for each one.
