The Sequra HK1 Smart Latch lock (or Door Knob) from Holomarq, is the first of its kind to use Thread, and in so doing places itself in pretty much a class of its own. Love mines, I put it in the kids room and they loved it. Wish that some of the settings could have been found in the home app. I’ll give it a 5 out of 5 rating

Yes, it’s unfortunate that some options aren’t readily available, but if you use some other third party HomeKit apps, they do expose a bit more that can be used in automations, which once created, will actually show up as automations in the Home app.

@@homekitnews I’ll wait until they bother listing it in the uk Amazon store as I don’t one to pay extra for the delivery and then get hit by import duties. Otherwise I’d buy this in a heartbeat for my office

I’ll speak the man at Sleekpoint, but from past conversations, it would seem there’s no plan to release this in Europe or the U.K. as these types of locks aren’t as common. The latch lock you tend to see in the U.K. is usually fitted on the outside of the door, not inside it, even if the mechanism is similar. Even so, I’d suggest waiting for the fingerprint sensor version.

@@homekitnews thanks buddy, really wanted this! Interesting in regards to the latch, as i have a standard apartment door with door handle. Id be willing to pay a locksmith to drill the right hole to accom the lock. Alas, after much thought you are correct and it would be better to wait for the fingerprint HomeKit version Already disappointed after Aqara support misunderstood my email, we they thought i was in the USA and said the u100 was coming. When it was released, it transpired this was not for eu markets which was a huge shame, as it seems amazing and matches my g4 doorbell. Ive got the SwitchBot lock for now which since getting matter support worked well, but its not as pretty as the Aqara lock. Heck, id even pay for the a100 zig bee but cant find it anywhere

Aqara do have a retrofit lock coming for EU type doors with Eurocylinders, although without seeing your current door and lock setup, it’s hard to know whether this would be the right solution. The A100 Zigbee has been great since I’ve had it, and although it’s hard to find, there is a store in Singapore that sells the international model and ships internationally, but it won’t be cheap of course. It’s an expensive lock, and heavy too.

Thank you for the quick solid review, the HomeKit version needs a fingerprint option then I’m sold. It’s hard to sell this to my boss(wife) without that option. And I need an outside door option.

The fingerprint sensor on the non smart version (H2) is fast, so yes it may be better to wait if you’re not in a massive hurry.
