Am in the Dreamer and Aspirant category and I've always appreciated how educational and holistic your content is when it comes to yachting. Aside from the usual accommodations, I appreciate seeing the engineering and the crew side these magnificent crafts. Your choice of words and manner of speaking, as well as your tone not only exude the elegance of the yachting idustry, but the craftsmanship of the engineering that lies beneath. I've enjoyed seeing the growth of your channel through the development of the production from yourself any your crew. Should I ever be in the market for a yacht (one never knows), I will definitely consider reaching out to your channel.

one of the biggest things I appreciate about your channel is how much you dive into the world of marine engineering and design, David -- thanks again for an awesome update!

'Bizarre' is the right word for some of those. But then, I'm and old hag, and I like boats to look like boats, preferably old fashioned boats at that 😄 That said, inventive thinking is good, and there are often details that might be interesting to use.

These projects are great. Crazy but like a dream, a project can become a reality. Too bad a dream as strong as it is, is only a dream for a person like me, you have to rely on luck. Thanks David. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Wow I didn't see these yachts coming, its amazing that there are so many companies offering "off the wall" solutions but long may it happen, because somewhere between the wacky and traditional yachts there are likely to be some real classics emerge. Nice job David

Most of these look like they belong in sci-fi stories; however, there's often one aspect of half of these that could improve yachts for the future. Having stated that, I do enjoy the video.

Great video as always! 2:15 Sea Eagle II... as far as I am aware there's no Sea Eagle III as of now McKeon did an awesome job with the BlackCat series as did Santa Maria Magnolfi with the new Wallywind lineup. Plus, kudos to SYT - They are indeed an amazing source of information on all things yachting!

You know that 3 rotor ship, those are called Flettner Sails. They've been used before in boats and are on cargo ships. The use of them I sent to Jasper at Arksen and you. Neither of you replied, which is fine, but they use the Magnuson Effect which I know you are familiar with. They I prove fuel mileage a considerable amount and although they aren't pretty, they are highly functional

Great video and i love seeing creative yacht designs that are "Out of the box thinking", even those designs the push the boundaries of what is possible to build like the Nemesis One 100m foiling luxury catamaran that comes from the French design firm VPLP. VPLP has many cool catamaran designs that depart from the norm and ive been curious if VPLP were behind the French sailing cat designs of a few decades ago under the name of BluBay Cats. Fantastic job and keep the great content flowing.

Slice by Feadship is by far the most likely be built in the yachts to get a owner, as it is just a beautifully crafted designed piece of yacht styling.

i love videos like this. they amplify dreams of very different and environmentally friendly yachts! But also this makes me wondering, why most of the walktrough Videos displaying rather "normal" looking yachts. there are several interesting ideas out there, like Sanlorenzo SP110 or the Maori 125 or the Ocean Emerald Rodriguez 135. Would love to see some of those in the future, even if they are not for sale ;-) keep on the great work of informing and entertaining us with the yachting world.

I sent you article about the molten salt reactor. I think that will be the next wave to come to boats. Not quite nuclear energy, but pretty close. I think we are facing an economic downturn and unfortunately the yachting industry is going to suffer. While I am sure there will still be yachts, bought, sold, built and launched, there will be quite a few less of them. Sailing yachts though, especially catamarans will explode even more. Explorer cats are becoming more popular and I think we'll see some interesting designs come out of it.
@rugby342
@rugby342 Год назад
Well over a decade ago Solucar in Abengoa Spain had a power generation system comprised of parabolic solar trough's that directed the solar energy onto a tube running along the focal line and this tube contained a molten salt that collects the solar energy that gets used to create super critical steam to generate power. Id like to see real world tests to see how viable a molten salt reactor would be on a superyacht.
@clifbradley
@clifbradley Год назад
@@rugby342 I will look into that. Alexei from Bering was widely mocked when he said that in the next 10 years we would see nuclear powered yachts and I think he was joking because that obviously would never happen, but the use of solar panels, Flettern sails, and maybe the molten salt generators are the next waves that will push the industry forward. I don't think they will be the end solution, because I think eventually some form of chemical or biomass will be created to be used as fuel. But they'll get the ball rolling. That's why I think catamarans will become more popular. They can use sails and solar power, and yes I know lithium batteries aren't very green lol, but you also don't have the heeling effect that a monohull does, and you can carry stuff like a superyacht does with tenders, toys, jet skis, etc. Unfortunately they aren't very wind efficient.
@rugby342
@rugby342 Год назад
@@clifbradley Alexi is great and I would love to own a Bering one day. I like the approach Lurssen has taken with advancing fuel cell tech but it seems like the same scenario is playing over again like the video tape format war between VCR & Betamax. Which emerging technology will become the "New Standard" for the marine industry. I would like to see innovation that generates power from the dynamic surface of the ocean but this would take up precious space onboard, meaning less space for guests.

Hi I feel very sad indeed-Because I may have given the impression that I have enough money to buy a superyacht-Which I unfortunately don't I got this business idea. An idea I've had for some years-It combine Superyacht with luxury holiday home with swimming pool-Where the turist can choose whether they want to start 1 week at see and thereafter 1 week in this luxury holiday home.

Probably because you're ignorant. The resource gathering of electric vehicles is more harmful to the environment. There will always be someone whining about "environmental impact" even if everyone used canoes.
@FLH3official

The most sustainable yacht is a yacht already built, as the most sustainable car is an old car. If you take into account its whole life (buiding+usage+destruction/recycling) an old Landrover has less environmental impact, even with its old fuel engine, than a brand new "E.Green-Something hybrid/electrical" car. Same story for a dishwasher or a lawnmower. But I love old boats and old cars.🙂
