I think I understand where the whole "Sajam is getting easier opponents than me" thing now. Sajam is better than whoever is complaining, especially at capitalising on weaknesses, so he *makes* the other player look like ass.
I can never see or understand why Ryu is considered weak. I always see him as perfectly fine in most games with the thing being there's characters that do everything he does and more
I think the point of a character like Ryu is to have every option but not be the best at it. It's fine if someone's rushdown is better than Ryu's or someone's zoning is better than Ryu's, but if someone is all-around better than a character that's supposed to be an all-around character it pretty much makes Ryu obsolete. Not weak, just pointless.
It’s because he’s a really solid all-rounder but he doesn’t have anything in particular that he is exceptional at. Doesn’t make him unplayable but it does make him weak when compared to characters like Ken or Luke
Ryu is decent and he gets underrated due to being redundant when Luke exists. The thing is there is basically little reason to use Ryu over Luke mostly since Ryu's unique advantages are situational mostly since dejin charge is hard to make work and needs a rework so his main advantage over Luke often doesn't matter
Ryu doesn’t have pressure and pressure is very important in this game, his hashogeki isnt used like his other specials unless it’s someone like endingwalker or paladin
Oh he says "these fists of mine" not "the fists of nine". I always wondered what the fuck he was talking about lol. Also impressive how far he's getting playing ryu like he's ken.
Man that JB set is so fun to watch. Obviously a top 3 CPT qualifier player is probably going to win against your day 2 Ryu but it was really fun to see the difference in applications
Ryu is great, he's not Ken but who cares about that. Btw, how do you consistently land st.hp in neutral so often? I try pressing that button and i always get punished. Must be cause i suck 😂
@@blackout1524 I didn't mean it that way. I just think that it's fine if Ryu is less powerful than Ken. If I wanted to play Ken, I'd play Ken. Ryu is almost never the better shoto.
I mean, if you think about it, there's nothing more honest that a straight punch to the face, it has to be the quintessential fighting move in the history of fighting. Besides slapping i guess.
I know I suck, because after watching this I had so much confidence btonginand try it and failed miserably..I have no idea when and from how far to throw it lol
Your Ryu playstyle definitely hightlight how generous they were with standing normals hitting crouching characters at midrange in this game. Back in SF4, most of those standing LP and the standing HP would probably whiff a lot more. Again, not saying it was better that way, but it looks very apparent here.
