the best bait for snapper in nz is whole squid heads with eyes and tentacles. All my 70cm+ fish were on those

Unreal mate! I couldn’t turn a reel on anything but calamari baits until early November, now the flesh baits are probably taking priority. Hopefully we can all get 1 or 2 more sessions like that this season. Good work

Hey Nev, love the videos mate. I've noticed in a few of your videos you talk about snapper with big knobby foreheads/noses being male and just thought I'd let you know that's just a common myth. It is actually due to a condition called hyperostosis which causes excessive bone growth and can occur in both males and females, and occurs more predictably in larger, older fish. Just thought you might find this interesting!
