(COMMENT NOW REDUNDANT, GAME HAS WORKSHOP SUPPORT) i mean i would agree but like dude got bullied by somethingawful and now has an anti-modding stance on all of his games because of it
@@Ravensfan842 what I mean by "mods" is custom user-made content that wasn't added in by the official developers. an example of this is the steam workshop page for games like Left 4 Dead 2.
@@thetarr2 mine is skele-ray and he died on the first day because he failed to kill someone in the subway and threw himself in the raintrack fly high skeleray
Here's the funny thing: he's built this wrestling engine and has gotten so much use out of it that now his major release, Wrestling Empire, is probably one of the best indie wrestling games you can get. Likely the best wrestling game if you look at current sponsored offerings these days. This guy is at a higher plane than us and I respect that.
Not only that, but the reactivity of his games is legitimately impressive. Even though it never quite manages to be immersive to the point where it feels like the other characters are responding to your actions in a realistic manner, the fact that the game repeatedly references the what you did and how the other characters will respond to it without it being little more than a diversion that changes little of the game's story is really unique. I can't think of anything else that tries to simulate interpersonal relationships between people to this extent and just allows the player to explore the sandbox, all the while having NPCs directly confront the player like that.
Yeah a lot of the features in these games aren't actually in stuff like 2k, like reversals into reversals, doing moves over the ropes, free roam and more.
Does anyone else have vivid nostalgia for playing the mobile versions of his game as a kid? I would spend so long in the hard time character creator then just run around beating up random people and die. I feel like this could be an unspoken gen z memory
I still play hard time Mma Weeknd Super lives hehheheheh it's still fun now old school has come to mobile too soo it's soo much fun Good to kill sometime
Bro I remember how wild these games could get. There was this one time in "wrecked" where I had to eat my own son for food and then proceeded to get another one to replace the one I ate.
I beat hard time! Turns out if you kill everyone in the medical room and then just sleep out your sentence there's a 50/50 you'll get away with the medical room murders and immediately be released. Otherwise you may have to survive a few more days to be released but I've done it on a few different characters. I'm on the you testament now, turns out if you do what Jesus says you literally get superpowers and basically can't die lmao. Plus Satan gives you evil powers too like a biblical sith lord lmao. Ridiculous games but so damn iconic
@@chakr.a to my knowledge the only way around that is up to chance, the only way to get the guards to leave you alone is to get arrested, which there's a 50/50 you'll be charged for your crimes, or you'll be released and someone else will be charged for theirs. Punishments vary, you can be forced to pay a fine, fight in an arena, sit in a dungeon, or be crucified. Crucifixion is the worst one, but you can also skirt around crucifixion by healing yourself while crucified until a guard asks you on the cross, to pay your taxes. Refuse to pay the tax, and get removed from the cross and go to court for tax evasion. It gives you a chance to survive crucifixion but I've only managed that two or three times
@@treybowers154bro after u get all good powers and Jesus is dead, try to enter the tomb repratedly or push the tomb stone away and then talk with Jesus, he will give you resurrection and after dat u can literally live after death
I actually played Hardtime until my dats were up. I killed everyone. Having max agility and okay strength with low intelligence was the way to go. I tried to play without hurting anyone but after four in-game days there were not many people left in the prison so i just killed the rest and when the new guards came in they left me alone. Same with new inmates too. Amd i pretty much slept the rest of the days and worked out, lol.
I remember when I was 12 and I searched up Wrestling on the app store and saw Wrestling Revolution and downloaded it. I will never forget that experience.
i was playing his new game (old school, aka the 3d remake of school days) and it’s genuinely insane 😭 2 of my teachers were in love with me and i had 4 different boyfriends (and only one of them actually announced that we were dating). and one of my bfs cheated on me with the history teacher :(
back wars was my favourite too bad he hasnt made another thats set in the "new timeline" unless everything we see in the mdickie games IS this new timeline
In Hungary, MDickie is famous because his "Arcade Boxing" was actually getting sold in stores under the label "Success Games" and our version of the AVGN tore it too shreds. It's funny how he discovered him before all of the big youtubers did. And if i had to guess, he was one of the first to review Big-Rigs in 2007.
All of his games are bad, but in a good way. His games are literally my childhood games. I still play his games from time to time, what can you do when his games are oddly addicting
I remember playing wrestling revolution when i was in middle school, me and my brother would rename and customize every wrestler to the ones in wwe, i remember playing the career mode and my fondest memory was the ability to fix a table magically after throwing your opponent through it, and there are no reversals 😂
MDickie seems like he's having a blast making these things still and just cramps up everything he can into his games which honestly is both outrageous and hilarious and I'm all for it. I love how it clearly shows he's having fun with something HE wanted to make, without specifically having an audience in mind. I wish more people in the AAA scene were like that, just making what you find fun. Altho it's usually the publishers' fault. Or just a bad company.
Man I love this video! You set the stage really well in the beginning and then just did some classic gameplay without a bunch of goofy edits and shit. Very relaxing and entertaining.
If I'm remembering correctly, the channel Cultaholic (pretty big on wrestling youtube) got an interview with him not too long ago! I personally havent watched/listened, but I figure it'd be a cool thing for the people wanting to know more about him. The team at Cultaholic are really good with interviews.
this guy's games are goated. i used to play all of his games back in the day. hard time, school days, wrestling revolution, back wars, super city. nostalgia for me.
It was the Summer of 2015, I was 14 years old, I had my grandmother's old Android phone & it was still working somehow. I started scrolling thru the play store & I stumbled across the legendary Wrestling Revolution. I downloaded it, started playing it & from that very moment..... My whole life had changed. I'm 23 now & I still play it til dis day.
Nobody talks ab him but the youtuber “seal481” was the first or one of the first people to play any mdickie game on youtube. But since he’s moved on from youtube nobody would know this. There are a couple archive videos of his up but not all of them 👍🏾
Bro when I saw this vid I thought u were a big channel but then I saw ur subs and turns out it's a pretty small one. I just wanna say you really deserve more recognition more subs this quality is great you earned a sub keep up the good work and keep chasing your dreams🔥
I'm inclined to believe you. Mdickie's games were introduced to me by a friend. I've never seen any big RU-vidr play them. But I bet that if they did, the games' popularity will skyrocket.
I think they skyrocked when he started making games for mobile. He had probably the best wrestling game on mobile phones at that point. And found a new audience. I've known his games since the mid 2000s, so I've been following him for a while.
I remember finding hard time, typing names of people I didn't like and putting their names as my character and I thought hard time was online so I was thinking "ha your name is online" and got them killed and beat up
